MetalJesusRocks Would you consider making a video of games you happen to have gambled on buying early before the price went up? Maybe include games you bought early that got cheaper to buy as time went by :)
Personally, I think the 6th gen was the best generation. We had 4 consoles (Dreamcast, GameCube, Xbox, and PS2) that all were (and still are) worth owning. The Xbox's real selling point to me was the use of a HDD versus Memory Cards.
I just bought a lot of 46 games, 2 Xbox Systems and 5 Controllers for $90. There was 2 (!) Jurassic Park Operation Genesis in the lot... Also Jet Set Radio Future was in there as well.
MJ should have mentionned that Steel Battalion has another crazy feature: the game actually deletes your savegame if you don't eject before your mech explodes. :p
Yeah the Xbox version of that game has been expensive for a while. Back when I got my PS2 copy that version was going for roughly $40. Since then the PS2 version has started to catch up to the Xbox in value so I would say $20 was a win.
I think the Futurama game was also expensive because it was released back when it was on Fox and hadn't gotten it's big fanbase yet. Also I don't know why the Teen Titans Xbox game is so expensive when the other ports are cheap. Regardless I bought them both since Xbox video resolution looks nicer than PS2.
I actually have Futurama on the PS2 which I got way back when I was a kid as it was selling at Video Ezy for only 20 dollars, still in good condition. However, I doubt it'd be worth much as it's all scratched and dirty due to incorrect care as a kid.
It's also really buggy apparently. So many spots you can get game breaking glitches. Not sure if some discs are free of the errors or not, I heard a rumor some copies play better than others but nothing to back that up.
Torgo Gorgo -Unfortunately yes. I got to a level where you fight fishmen on a ship and it kept crashing at a certain point. I had to give up after retrying at least a dozen times
Only like 13 original Xbox games are BC on Xbox One, so for now it shouldn't affect anything. BUT they run at higher resolutions and such on X1/X1X, so that's sick.
Another collector tip - Outrun 2006 had the Ferrari license. As such, the original case has a Ferrari license hologram sticker. You'd be surprised how many "complete" copies I've seen up for sale that don't have the sticker on the case.
@@teh_supar_hackr That ferrari test drive game is pretty expensive on 360 and PS3 (about $32 US over her in PAL-land) , and its not a ferrari thing cos the other ferrari games on PS3 are like a fiver if that
YamiGekusu Yeah and scalpers bought them trying to overprice them thinking "limited" meant rare, but...well...they had another thing coming! More copies of the "limited" edition were made than the original! :P
That Bald Gamer I remember buying Doom 3 Limited Collector's Edition for og Xbox for $4.87 from Amazon a couple of years ago. Shit was quite a bit cheaper than standard Doom 3, plus Doom 3 LCE had Doom 1 and 2 included, which is more bang for my buck
That Bald Gamer I've been collecting games I've been interested in since I was a little kid. If I have a genuine interest in a game, I have a goal to get it (within reasonable prices, of course!)
Didn't know Futurama was so sought after! Recently brought it online as I'm slowly building up my old Xbox collection and I think I got it for $30 AUD including shipping. Although, most expensive was my Conker: Live and Reloaded that was around $65 imported from the uk as the prices in Australia were a lot higher with the included shipping.
Angry i sold mine now, but the game itself was terrible, no learning curve and horrendous graphics on what you would call cutscenes, only thing that comes to memory was a claymation looking black guy with text box dialog
its not as intimidating as it appears. Most buttons are used once to start up your mech or for secondary funtions not used much. it is very fun to play despite it looking cumbersome. its overall slower paced, so you usually have time to react.
I'm so glad to see another original Xbox video from you MJ. I have been collecting for the original Xbox for a while now and have most of these titles, but I'm always excited to see more videos on it.
Think I may of found one of my new favourite channels, a mix of metal and gaming, two things I love! keep up the good work! I’ll be going through your older videos and looking at them too!
The other thing that's great about "Test Drive Eve Of Destruction" is that it gives you an option to shut off the built in game music.... and if you have "Xbox Music Mixer" You can choose your favorite music that you saved on Media Player within the original xbox hardrive and actually listen to you favorite music while playing the games. It randomly chooses the songs but still very awesome.

4:11 Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast was released on the PC as well (at least in Europe) and can be run in 3200 x 1800 px w/o any updates directly from the ingame launcher. OutRun 2006 is essentialy OutRun2 plus a BIG old style expansion, which doubles the roads and quadruples the cars. Also, it eliminates the rare slowdown. It can be played on the Xbox 360, but it has some kind of LOD bug on the road textures. It mustsn’t be confused with OutRun Online Arcade which, while in 720p and with the Xbox Live servers still up, it doesn’t include more than half of the 2006 content. It’s very barebones. It was also delisted.
Here I am thinking I probably never played these games, yet I owned Stubbs the zombie, and test drive eve of destruction. Two amazing games, wish I didn't loose them through the years haha
Really surprised you didn't mention that Metal Wolf Chaos was by From Software, which also gives it some extra fan appeal, and explain that they made the Kings Field, Armored Core and Dark Souls games.
Outrun 2006 on the Xbox is so collectable because none of the retail stores carried it! The only place I was able to buy a copy was at Microcenter, and even those stores are few and far between.
if you are going to get Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, get it on the PC. The PC version has a ton of community mods that are still being released to this day, and they dramatically improve the quality of the game.
I simply picked up the controller for Steel Battalion from Japan via an online auction there. It cost $70AU. So, my advice is to find the game disc itself locally, and get the controller from Japan, where you can get it for peanuts. Simple!
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast on the Xbox is expensive because it was a limited release that came out after the Xbox 360 was released. Many stores only received enough copies to cover pre-orders and only a few stores here and there received extra copies.
Got an in box complete Steel Battalion for $75 on craigslist last month. The free trial of xbox live hadn't even been scratched off. A wonderful edition to my collection, and soon to be a standalone arcade cabinet.
I think your price might be a little off Stubs The zombie is about a $30-$45 game well at least in New York. I never seen it for more than 45 bucks unless you're talking eBay prices. I mean heck I got my copy this year for $30. Unless something has changed and the price jumped in the past 4 to 6 months.
Modest Gamers where I live it's not available anywhere in any retro store so ebay is sadly my only option which is usually 50 to like 70 I've seen :/ wish I was in a bigger city.
chocolatewheelchair Hell no I will never go to that shitty place again. J&l are a bunch of greedy bastards. I wanted to get zombies ate my neighbors months ago and the guy tried to overprice me by almost $30. I told him that was way overpriced and I asked if he's willing to negotiate just a little bit like $5 or $10 less and he came back and said nothing is negotiable that everything is set prices. I live in Queens New York but the place I go to is located in Levittown Long Island it's called video game trading post. They have a very knowledgeable staff and a great selection of old-school retro games and consoles.
Leonard Mendoza I understand where you're coming from with that. I've had to resort to eBay sometimes when I can't find something out in the wild and that's totally fine but something like Stubbs I wouldn't pay more than $55 on eBay for. It's all about patients and patients does pay off in the long run if you try to get a good price game especially on eBay.
chocolatewheelchair Just to add to my previous comment I ended up getting zombies ate my neighbors somewhere else for $32 instead of the 60 they were trying to charge me. The place they're located in Midtown has very high price rent so I understand why they would charge eBay prices but to not want to negotiate just a couple of dollars is ridiculous they would've had a repeat customer with me and one that spends quite a bit of money as well if they would've just negotiated five dollars less.
Outrun Coast 2 Coast also came out on PC, which is the version that I have. Thankfully it supports controllers as well so I’d actually say that that’s probably the best version (graphically, anyway)
From memory - one of the reasons why Outrun Coast 2 Coast MAY be worth a bit is because of the fact that the Licensing with Ferrari was never renewed therefore Sega can no longer sell Outrun OR Develop a new outrun (Atleast with Ferrari's), this version being the last Outrun Game developed (Except for the Remakes on XBL and PSN, which are no longer availible due to Licensing).
If you all can find a copy of Official XBox Magazine issue 39 (just the demo disc, with the Conker Demo), there is a hidden demo for Metal Wolf Chaos. I got a good 15-20 minutes of gameplay out of it, and it really made me wish the game came out in the US.
Conker A Bad Fur Day Reloaded (2005) on Xbox could have fit into this list at one point because the value of the game moved up and down like crazy over the recent years. 2 years ago, that game was sold for about $80-$125 if used and up to $250 if brand new. The news spread and people started to hunt for the game to make a quick buck and, surprisingly, the game wasn't as rare as it seemed at first. A good amount of copies appeared on the online shops and the price dropped back to around $25 to $40. The previously "brand new" version also had its price dropped to about $60-$70. Ninja Gaiden Black also starts to get some value. It's at around $30 or more right in used condition and is slowly raising. The issue with the value of Xbox game value is from how some are available on the XBox Live store, transforming the physical copies into collector-only edition and, so, affecting the offers and demands and leaving more physical copies available for sales.
I worked at EB GAMES in Canada. This was selling for $270 at the time (12 years ago) Always stood up on the top shelf not being moved. Never sold 1 always had 1. We also had the green one.
I sold a spare copy for £45 without the movie disc, the game skyrocketed just after the announcement of Shenmue III but has come back down again since.
Quite a while back, my uncle went to trade in a bunch of his Xbox games at Gamestop. I noticed he had Eve of Destruction. I told him that what ever they were going to give him, I'd double it. The worker told us that we couldn't do that in the store, but was pretty cool about it. He sat it aside and after he finished trading everything in, we went outside. I think I ended up buying it for under $10.
I have most of these titles from buying them in the Salvation Army, apparently they had some game store that went out of business and donated a shit load of titles, they would constantly donate their titles, Steel Battalion cost me 40 bucks with the controller. Thrift stores are the best way to find these expensive titles!
Nice educational video! I have never seen someone play Steel Battalion before since the *'controller'* for the game is so rare. I don't care if it's a bad game. Very interesting
I love that I have a STEEL BATTALION crate basically unopened with all the packaging and plastic in perfect condition :) It is in my backlog....and I literally have never played it.
It's surprising MetalJesus didn't mention Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Director's Cut. Maybe it's not rare anymore? For the longest time, that was a $60-80 game.
I have been lucky enough to find 2 steel battalion controllers at the swap meet in the past. One complete in box for $30 and one loose for $18. Amazing game and controller.
About 40.000 were made of Steel Battalion as far as I know. 20k in blue (first run) and 20k green (second run). Though I've heard people speculate that the blue are more rare for some reason.
What about Marvel vs Capcom 2? I was surprised to see that wasn’t mentioned whatsoever, and that one was commanding $90 in a video game price guide back in ‘07.
OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is also on PC, I think it's the best version 😀 you can run it in 1080p (probably higher), and use your graphics card settings to add antialiasing etc 😉
I just hope there are rips of those rare games on the internet. So we can use modded consoles and emulators to pirate, preserve and breath life in such peices of art.
Fantastic! I have both the green button and blue button Steel Battalions CIB in great condition, I grabbed them a few years back, each in the $50 range, thought it would be fun to LAN part Line of Contact in my house, it’s fun but still tough to find 2nd players....
Futudrame the game was also a drama, lol. The graphics of the original Xbox were really impressive back then. I remember being blown away by Goldeneye Rogue Agent.
Wow i still own JP Operation Genesis for the PC, complete with manual and stuff... Got it for 15 bucks 13 years ago. Now this game feels more precious to me.
I had Test Drive: Eve of Destruction twice. I ended up trading it to GameCrazy on both occasions which was part of Hollywood video at the time. It's one of my top 5 favorite games till this day. wish I still had it.
oh, man. Speaking about stupidly expensive Xbox games, I never knew an original copy of Cars1 for the 360 would go for almost $100, its literally one of the last games i need for my personal collection and ive been looking for it for quite a while
Outrun 2 Coast to Coast was damn near impossible to find on XBox when that came out. I recall looking all over for it but had to settle for the PS2 version.
FYI: The whole controversy behind The Guy Game was that it was a trivia game that centered around spring break and girls having to flash their breasts if they got the questions wrong. Well actually, it was because one of the girls signed a waiver saying she was of legal age when in fact she was 17. Funniest part is that she (or rather I think her parents) sued the company that made the game. They eventually banned it and all the footage NOT containing her was released as a DVD called The Guy Game: Game Over. I've only ever seen the DVD maybe two times in the wild, but I still own a copy of the game (on Xbox).
Does anybody remember these games: -Wallace and gromit in project zoo -Wallace and gromit the curse of the were rabbit -Taz Wanted - the incredible hulk: ultimate destruction

Really surprised you didn't mention that Metal Wolf Chaos was by From Software, which also gives it some extra fan appeal, and explain that they made the Kings Field, Armored Core and Dark Souls games.
Because Metal Jesus is clueless about half the shit he shows. Shelf collector at it's finest.
why are you hating on metal jesus he seems like a really down to earth dude just being himself.
Outrun 2006 on the Xbox is so collectable because none of the retail stores carried it! The only place I was able to buy a copy was at Microcenter, and even those stores are few and far between.
The amazing Metal Wolf Chaos is being ported to current gen. I cant wait!! Richarrrrd!!!
Steam port is taking forever and there has been no news since last year. Are they waiting for Hillary to be in prison before releasing it?
Hot damn, I might want to get in on this.
@@SolidSonicTH you wont regret it. The game is fun!
if you are going to get Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, get it on the PC.
Simple!
Metaljesus you do rock sir!!!
Hey, Where in NYC do you shop? Do you know J&L Game in midtown??
chocolatewheelchair Hell no I will never go to that shitty place again.
Great video. The prices jumped on some of the Xbox games with the backwards. Ninja gaiden black went from around 10$ to 50$ ish crazy
Titanfall should of had this controller!
Outrun Coast 2 Coast also came out on PC, which is the version that I have. Thankfully it supports controllers as well so I’d actually say that that’s probably the best version (graphically, anyway)
Yes it did, while OutRun 2 was exclusive to Xbox. So I would rather get OutRun 2 for Xbox and 2006 for PC.
Metaljesus is the best UA-cam channel! Always so informative
I agree
Thanks!
SHENMUE 2 LOL HONORABLE MENTION
its only £20 or so i have it here with dvdmovie of first game
I sold a spare copy for £45 without the movie disc, the game skyrocketed just after the announcement of Shenmue III but has come back down again since.
Shenmue 2 was not exclusive like the first game, it's available for PS2 as well.
Was never on PS2
IN AMERICA SHENMUE 2 IS NOT EASY TO FIND ...AND WILL COST YOU $ ... ANY TIME YOU SEE IT IN RETRO GAME STORES IT'S BEHIND GLASS FOR A REASON....
Had no idea Stubbs the Zombie had gone up so much; purchased it at a local game shop for $17.
I didn't know Stubbs the Zombie was a rare game, I found it CIB at a goodwill for a few bucks, that made my day :)
Isn't the guy game an illegal game to have because of the under age nudity?
George Hernandez i think so but i dont know
I know its banned in australia where i am 😂😂
It’s illegal to own in some countries but not all.
Don't ask don't tell
George Hernandez its not technically illegal to own but I know ebay listings have gotten pulled for it on a frequent basis.
Great video man. Subscribed to last year around this time, and I have looked all your videos bro! Keep up the good content on gaming
For those wondering why The Guy Game had some legal issues... One of the young ladies modeling was 17. That's all I'm gonna say about it 😂
It's surprising MetalJesus didn't mention Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly Director's Cut. Maybe it's not rare anymore? For the longest time, that was a $60-80 game.
I have been lucky enough to find 2 steel battalion controllers at the swap meet in the past. One complete in box for $30 and one loose for $18. Amazing game and controller.
Probably late to the party, but OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast also came out on the PC, which I do own. Though it has a lot of stuff missing.
Gamer tip: If you own a softmoded Xbox you can play them all for free.
500 dollars for a mech simulator??!! Shut up and take my money!!! That simulator set up looks amazing!!
Didn't realise about Steel Battalion as I've X3 boxed (X1 colour and X2 of the other colour) for LAN battles being a MASSIVE mech fan
OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is also on PC, I think it's the best version 😀 you can run it in 1080p (probably higher), and use your graphics card settings to add antialiasing etc 😉
This is my brothers absolute FAVORITE game. He's working on a 2-player setup right now :D
OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast available on PC and with the 3D panel of your gc is beautiful !!!
I love that new 60fps that you have started to have in your videos from this video and on! You felt the smoothness directly like the 5 first seconds
I got a new capture card. Thanks for noticing!
I remember Steel Battalion.
It was NUTS. Over the top and incredible. If you can find it in good shape and under $500, you did good.
I want steel battalion with modern day photorealistic graphics and that controller. that genuinely looks like something I would enjoy the hell out of
Outrun 2006 also came out on PC, crank up that resolution to 1280x1024 instead of 480p!
I just hope there are rips of those rare games on the internet. So we can use modded consoles and emulators to pirate, preserve and breath life in such peices of art.
Criminally!.. I mean, totally!
It's one of my top 5 favorite games till this day. wish I still had it.
oh, man. Speaking about stupidly expensive Xbox games, I never knew an original copy of Cars1 for the 360 would go for almost $100, its literally one of the last games i need for my personal collection and ive been looking for it for quite a while
doing a quick search on Ebay, we know that the prices that appear in this video do not correspond much to reality, but even so, fantastic video
5:45 looks like they're on the Cod zombies map FIVE with ray guns
I believe Larry Bundy Jr. had a vid on why Steel Battalion costs so much, kinda funny. It was due to scalpers back in the day.
Does anybody remember these games:
-Wallace and gromit in project zoo
-Wallace and gromit the curse of the were rabbit
-Taz Wanted
- the incredible hulk: ultimate destruction
I respect you for not plying or shoing off bad games
I was under the impression the guy game was considered child pornography as one of the girls getting nude was underage.
