I’m so excited to hear you liked this one Niki. I didn’t know it was related to the Expanse either.
Thank you! Yes very loosely.
Oh man you have me so excited for Mercy of Gods!!
You're going to love it!!
Age Of Ash: OMG that ruler villain. Frightening.
For real. I can't wait to find out more in the next book!!
@@TheObsessiveBookseller The next book operates next to the first but it's all new characters.
I can't wait to get my hands on THE MERCY OF GODS, I was excited for this book the moment it was announced, and I love the cover.
I do too - I'm looking forward to bringing a copy home. It's such a cool book!
👀 i have this on preorder. Strong start from the sound of it. Seveneves! One of my fave books, a multiple re-read for me.
I remember - I wish so much that I'd enjoyed that one more. It was cool! But I for some reason wasn't engaged. I think since you've been loving Ruocchio you'll love Mercy also!
Great video.
Looking forward to The Mercy of Gods. Seven eves was excellent, great premise. Abraham, there is also the Dagger and the Coin series. Would you believe that I bought the Zahn trilogy when they came out, and never read them. Someday, I have to read them.
I hope you enjoy Mercy - it was such a cool book! I tried twice to get into Dagger and Coin and finally loved it the second time around. It's not my fav overall though from him. That is too funny!! I'm sure there are at least a dozen gems on my shelves that I haven't cracked yet that have been there for a decade or two. Your collection continues to inspire me.
I am old enough that I read the Thrawn trilogy when they first came out. Sadly I think we donated them decades ago now :) But yes, the Thrawn trilogy (I think all of Zahn's star wars books), The Courtship of Princess Leia and perhaps I, Jedi would be my recs from the 90s books. The biggest issue with the Disney Star Wars movies is they lacked a cohesive vision. I mean... the writing is more compelling in the Star Wars MMO :)
I can't wait to get to all of those!! Especially the Princess Leia one - it was written by my writing mentor and I've always heard good things. Have you done the X-Wing saga? I was considering trying those next...
@@TheObsessiveBookseller If I have I don't recall them. Sorry, it's just been 30 years mostly:)
that’s okay! There are so many I don’t know how I’m going to keep track of them.
@@TheObsessiveBookseller Yes; there is a mainline story around Luke, Leia and Han; the wiki does a pretty good job I think of listing them out.
It's related to the Expanse? I was so certain they said it was an entirely new series...
There is definitely a small crossover, and I suspect there will be more as it goes along. It's distant enough though that you could read it without feeling like you're missing out. I worry about small things ruining the first series though if they were read out of order. But I'm very touchy when it comes to spoilers.
I DNFed Seveneves too.
Cool idea, just lacking in execution for me.
When does it release?
August 6th in the US!
