One thing that made the biggest difference for my class in terms of nap time was having no noise at all. No noise makers no relaxing spa music just regular noise from outside which is actually pretty quiet during nap time. I feel like sometimes the noises and the sounds in the spa songs can be very distracting for the kids.
I also feel like it’s helpful for them to hear the other kids breathing changes and light snoring because it helps them all to kind of get to that same level/energy/vibe, etc. I learned this from a coworker of mine who has been teaching preschool in daycare for over 20 years. After implementing this, our class is always the first to have everyone asleep And everyone always sleeps nap time since we started doing this.

Really helpful thank you for sharing 🙌🏻 I’m actually going to follow your sleeping window period of time since it makes total sense that they need some time to transition. My nap time was going to be from 12-2pm but 12:30-3pm sounds perfect 👍

Great video! New sub. Curious, if all the kids are fulltime? or do you offer parttime care? How many staff members? I like that you have a small space but it is clean, organized, and each space serves a need. I am also working on opening a learning center for preschool age.

Hi my 18 months old has started day care last he he goes 2 days a week thursdays and fridays , around 12/30-1 he started to cry a lot because he was tired and I knew he wanted to sleep.
Before I took him home I tried to put him to nap at day care but he was crying so much and wouldn’t let me go as soon as I put him in the car he slept .
Is there any advice I’m so worried it’s so hard 🥺🥺

Once child is 3 years old parents don’t want them to take a nap . I tell them they have to lay down quietly but child always falls asleep during quiet time. Then they complain that child won’t sleep at night 🤦‍♀️
