    This piece is from a different planet. The composer took the bassoon to a new dimension and also the bassoonist is delivering the music in a fantastic way.
    Great composer, great bassoonist!

      Thank you. Hope you can also check out the bassoon concerto which was developed from this piece!

    Amazing piece! The multiphonics passages work so well just with by playing with the dynamics and articulations

    I was lucky to hear this piece played by Rebekah herself at Curitiba's new music biennial this year, it's an amazing work.

    Intriguing. Delighted that I stumbled upon this. I also find the composers notes interesting. I recently completed a flute solo-"Aubade Raga", and inserted similar comments to help the performer have some image to relate the sound to. I was very hesitant as I didn't want to come off too esoteric but never the less I left them in the score. Your music dear sir is other-worldly. Fantastic!

    Incredible, incredible piece! I'm a composer and I wonder if you, or any bassoonists, would be willing to share the fingering charts for these multiphonics? Thanks in advance for your reply!

      thanks - if you happen to encounter the score fo this work - the fingering charts come with. :) also it is from Pascal Gallois' book (he was one of the bassoon player the work was written for - hence I had access to his book before publication, even). thanks again.

    何か生命体の発する音がそのまま音楽になったような気がします。
    逆に音楽そのものがそのままその生命体の発する音になっているような気もします。

    I noticed in the score that at measure 145-151 (timestamp 6:09 ) (and elsewhere) there are single notes meant to be held over from the multiphonics and that doesn't come through; the pitch shifts when Nakagawa goes from the multiphonic to the single note. I imagine that must be really difficult. Evidently this isnt' essential to the sound cause it sounds great anyways (though that and clear pianissimo multiphonics would be awesome).

    Why do the multiphonics have "Bnm2" or "Bnm(number)" above them?

    • @antoninoabate1376
      @antoninoabate1376 3 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure but it might mean the number of the 12 most stable multiphonics of the instrument, going from treble clef E to Eb?

    Do the chords represent overtones that are heard more readily in performance . I'm still not clear about the notation ?

  • @nicholas72611
    @nicholas72611 7 років тому +1

    Not a fan of this type of music but those overtones would be so cool as a complimenting thing to an orchestral work.

    • @fujikuramusic
      @fujikuramusic  7 років тому +6

      funny you say that, as I have written bassoon concerto based on this work - to exactly complimenting the orchestra music (in my own way). :)
      thanks for listening.
