I was 15 when I felt the need to learn piano. But it felt like it was too late and was about to forego learning it. I heard and watched this piece being played. Decision was made. Ive been playing the piano for 7 years now and am so glad for it. Its never too late to learn an instrument. Time will still pass. But you can have a beautiful skill to practice on for life. Just starting is the critical decision.
Prokofiev's music is so incredible. It's is so current that one could put it directly into a FF game or a movie. I dont think one could listen to this performance wihout feeling anything.
Kissin is the absolutely best pianist alive, and the best who ever has been at home on this blue planet. So clear is his superiority that even other top pianists sure must be more than just impressed to listen to him, if they have that inner power to admit he is the one.
Klaris Davis it's the second title haha, maybe Montague and capulets is the title for the piece within the ballet, and dance of the knights a more general title for the piece
IMAGINE HIS HAIR ON FIRE, AS WELL AS HIM WEARING A FLAMBOYANT CRIMSON TUXEDO WHILST PLAYING THIS. IS THERE ANYTHING MORE POSSIBLY EUPHORIC!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
I learn piano from five years old to 11 years old I loved 🥰 it was my relaxation but I liked playing my music and not what my tutor wanted me to play so my mum and dad felt I had gone about as far as I could go with the lessons so then I was very happy with my own music 🎼
Great performance! I had the pleasure to watch the Royal Scottish Orchestra playing Prokofiev in Edinburgh end watching this video I could see the same intensity.
The complete piece is an orchestral suite called "Romeo and Juliet" which is normally performed as a ballet. Here Kissin is playing an adaptation for piano of the movement called Montagues and Capulets.
I watched probably 10+ versions on piano for this piece, and I must say no one is even close to Kissin in precision and clarity of the sound. I am not a musician myself and might be wrong, but my intuition says he is the best in the business right now.
Какая же это умничка,лучший пианист,вечный ребёнок,светлый и чистый(хочется верить)..Не такой как все,особенный..Так чутко и аккуратно никто не играет!!!😍😍
Most classical folk like to harp on about all of the German 'greats' but they all just made fluffy, lovey-dovey melodies compared to the likes of Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky and my boy Prokofiev here. Russian classical music was raw and alive, it was like the heavy metal of the time. I thank David Braben and Elite for introducing me to Night on Bald Mountain and a host of Russian greats.
It´s so visible that he really enjoys this playing, especially this piece is very powerful and I feel a lot of different feelings during playing... It´s my favourite now. I was just a little bit surprised that he wasn´t using pedal very much in the central part (the quiet and calm one). :) It´s a pity that the video isn´t till the end of it.
Afro: awesome
Music: flawless
Passion: unmeasurable
You sir, are an excellent pianist
A great UA-cam comment: priceless

NoneIsAllMinusSome 👍🏼
He plays this piece better then anyone ive watched
CHEZSTIX kk
Of course, he’s evengy kissin
I hear only one mistake.
@@analyticalphilo where plz
Prokofiev himself couldn’t play it a better way
even his hands are performing. the entire thing is dripping in theatricality. i love it so much
Kissin: Plays piano
ME: WATCHING HIS HAIR MOVING
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well I mean yeah
He can get away with it though.... and he knows it.🙂

Fortissimo game
The haircut is a brilliant work of art, deserving as much appreciation as the pianist wearing it.
I just love this piano version of the orchestral score. and evgeny kissin is fabulous
My favourite pianist,adore Him
ca sent la francaise
Perfect dotted rhythms!! Such an orchestral sound, too.
No matter why , he's my favorite pianist + idol , loved it.

I don't understand, shouldn't the title of the piece be "Dance of the knights" ?
I think you are right. Romeo and Juliet is the ballet, Dance of the Knights is this single piece!
The complete title of this piece would correctly be:
Prokoviev: Romeo and Juliet, Op. 64, Act 1: No. 13, Dance of the Knights
You're welcome.
Wait wait wait... I play this and I thought the arrangement for piano by Prokofiev is called "The Montagues and Capulets"
Klaris Davis it's the second title haha, maybe Montague and capulets is the title for the piece within the ballet, and dance of the knights a more general title for the piece
wow definitely thought it was Montagues and the Capulets
What an incredible interpretation - it's depth, brightness of sound and technical perfection. . .
OMG it's absolutely stunning perfomance!
I never liked this piece on the piano until I saw Kissin's interpretation. He makes it sound like it should: very powerful.
와...울림이 다르네요... très bien fantastic すごい
this will always be in my top 3 favorites! It’s so gorgeous wow i’m just awestruck every time I hear this beautiful piece ugh
凄すぎる❗やっぱりキーシンは最高。大好きです。
Love the way he feels amazed at every touch of his fingers as if he is not a virtuoso.
I aspire to be in his level of mastery one day , so powerful
Stunning performance!! Played with such preciseness and passion! Wow!🎉
I think I m more n more falling in love with Kissin! A TRUE artist!!!
Love you
Simply Fabulous. The only labor intensive piece from Romeo and Juliet there is time left to enjoy learning how to play.
Kissin's ability, agility and confidence along with his execution and intuitiveness are admirable. He is admirable in front of a camera.
Listening to Kissin without watching him is a sin 😂❤
The crispness of the left hand from 1:56 gives me chills
Bravissimo! Best solo performance I’ve heard yet of this piece.
I like that kind of style.
Magnifique interprétation ...
IMAGINE HIS HAIR ON FIRE, AS WELL AS HIM WEARING A FLAMBOYANT CRIMSON TUXEDO WHILST PLAYING THIS.
IS THERE ANYTHING MORE POSSIBLY EUPHORIC!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
I guess with strawberries... :D
BRILLIANT. I APPLAUD YOU.
Doing a speedball then listening to this is pretty Euphoric.....
I just find his afro hair style funny.

What a remarkable piece of art. I have never heard that before.
It's so touching.
Perfect rhythmic precision and ostinato!
I love that he adjests his tone so you can almost hear the strings and the woodwind play their parts.

There are so many critics out there; how could you not watch this and think, Evgeny is genius. I do.
I love this piece!
Great interpretation and the best execution on the piano for this incredibly difficult piece!👍
В его исполнении всё звучит потрясающе.
Он же гений, виртуоз, как и Соколов
It sure is, and I suggest you watch the video of this ballet piece with Nureyev playing Romeo.
The complete piece is an orchestral suite called "Romeo and Juliet" which is normally performed as a ballet. Here Kissin is playing an adaptation for piano of the movement called Montagues and Capulets.
Sensational! One of the best pianists living today. Bravo!
This is absolutely brilliant
this is a marvelous piece!
I watched probably 10+ versions on piano for this piece, and I must say no one is even close to Kissin in precision and clarity of the sound. I am not a musician myself and might be wrong, but my intuition says he is the best in the business right now.

Prokofiev is awesome, it is so sad how relatively few people "get" him.

I think its perfect, I have heard others play this but non compares.
It´s so visible that he really enjoys this playing, especially this piece is very powerful and I feel a lot of different feelings during playing... It´s my favourite now.
