great project
ordered my pcbs today
thanks mate
Thank you William!:)
Very nice project 👍
Muito Top !!! Parabéns!!!
The best circuit vu meter lm 3915
Awesome!
Amazing video
Thank you :)
I want 1 piece. How to buy this?
*NICE JOB*
Salut pot folosi LM 3916 IN LOC DE lm3915?
THANK YOU
Yah kit kahan milega hamhe 5 paise chahiye ic bhi chahiye
Do you have gender files for boards that are atleast 20 inches tall? Is so can u sharr or direct me in the right direction?
How do you make the cards so divisible? Know that you can make them with castles but want to be able to with the gray lines that you have in them.
Hi, this PCB should be re-designed from scratch to do as you wish
Bueno circuito congratulation
Thank you, gracias =)
Boa noite vc vende esa placa de vu
Ótimo seria um desses com 80 leds!!!!!!!
Tá ai a dica.
Led 1.2v or 3v =40?
Simple and sweet.
Thanks:)
I was playing around with lm3914 and could not get 2 to daisy chain to output in dot mode before I attempt a 60 leds circuit. Dot mode seems very challenging. So I decided to try shift registers with a pot. So far so good, it’s clean and simpler than lm3914. I’m a noob
Am reusit in sfarsit sa-l termin functioneaza impecabil
The diode at the input, does it need to be there? Like, will the LM3915 IC's be damage if they receive a negative voltage input? Also, what is the purpose of the 100k resistor and the 1micro capacitor?
the input diode and 1uf input capacitor are for rectifying and converting the input on the chips to a dc discharge signal. the 1uf capacitor can be made bigger to slow down the drop off of the lit area after peaks. or it can be smaller to speed it up. the 100k also controls how fast the capacitor drops off.
Hello Dear,
Nice and easy work.
Only one question, please!
Could be done to be 10 band spectrum?
For example each no of kHz in double like 30 hz, 60hz .. to 16 kHz
Thanks.
Hi, is among the things I would like to do in the future:)
yes but you will have to add the tuned bandpass filters to the input of each display.
@@Stefano91ste Ottimo !! ti ringrazio !!
One more question, Is it necessary to put resistance to not burn the LEDs?
Hi! No, there are already internal resistor in the IC
Hello, i liked the video. İ wanted to ask if it was possible to do an vu meter with a microcontroller. ( to use an other programable IC in the place from lm3915)
Hi, thank you! - Yes it is possible, but it is also more complicated.. however it has advantages such as obtaining different lighting effects.. in future I will make something
@@Stefano91ste thank you to anwsering me Im happy. Ot would be very nice if you can do it with a programable IC. And if you're gonna do it, for when would you post it.
@@kes-nw7qv adding micro controllers also add the possability of glitches so this way is better
What is the signal pin?
What should I connect to that?
How can I connect my phone?
Hi, the signal pin is used to connect the audio signal output from an amplifier to it. This Vu-Meter is not meant to be connected directly to the phone, but the signal must pass through an amplifier
Hi what is name of component that soldered vcc gnd and signal input pins ?
Hi, they are simple pin
@@Stefano91ste thanks you :)
Hi, buy on JLCPCB. Download file gerber from my video description
- Hi, it's not a kit, I designed this PCB and then I made it from jlcpcb
How can i add more led like 10 more?
Hi, Adding an LM3915 between the third and fourth LM3915, and keeping the logic of the connections between pins 6 and 4 (as shown in the video at 0:20)
pls TUTORIAL 10 BAND SPECTRUM ANALYZER...thnks
Hi, is among the things I would like to do in the future:)
Can I apply same bord Lm 3914ic
Yes, LM3914, LM3915 and LM3916 are compatible
Nice
Thanks!
connected directly to the laptop, is it possible?
No, for this vu-meter you need an amplified signal.. use this for connect it to a non-amplified signal: ua-cam.com/video/-ac33fV3P6Y/v-deo.html
@@Stefano91ste Can you recommend a diagram vu-meter with 40 LEDs with a signal from the laptop?
This display looks great! And at 3 decibels per step this display is already beyond the noise floor of most devices, why bother with going beyond this? I guess if you add just the right filter to get rid of high frequency noise and very low frequency pumping you could probably get a 100 LED display to work okay past -120db... maybe.
Hello, Thanks and Thanks for the advice =)
What PCB size?
Hi, the exact size is 39x257 mm
Please send to me a vu meterkit and diagram
Hi, this is not a KIT, you can download PCB files from video description and buy the board on JLCPCB, you can see the circuit diagram at 7:05
falta modo punto
I'm so confused how the audio is connected
Hi greensocket! Is connected directly to the amplifier output
@@Stefano91ste Doesn't the amplifier have to outputs like + and GND
GND is in common ;)
@@Stefano91ste with the power supply?
Yes!
So is 9 V or 12V?
Between 9V and 12V it works great
@@Stefano91ste Thanks
Oh..than I can make 100led battery indicator.!
It wouldn't make sense for a battery meter :)
yes using the lm3914
*THANK YOU*
