Aatrox in Arcane would be like introducing Darth Vader into a kindergarten. There is literally no chance that anyone could stop him. Hell the fact that they hinted Swain was a stretch.

He was much stronger and more broken before his rework and riot just deleted him and replaced him as a riven 2.0 that has been nerfed to the ground. He gets run down by most of top lane now because they changed him into a caster rather than an auto attacker so people can easily exploit his long cooldowns and cast times. Like I said before he cannot wave clear that well because riot put damage reduction against minions on his Q which is his only damage and wave clear ability but they allow garen to instantly clear waves with just his E. You can just build bramble vest against him and he is worthless unless he can get ahead in gold and buy armor pen items which only happens if your feeding him kills and allowing him to freeze the wave.

Also they nerfed the minion damage reduction so he still deals damage to minions lategame. Lorewise, he was never the strongest, but you can expect him to be able to challenge gods since he actually killed one.
Both is correct i think . He was human , then demigod Ascended, during fighting the Void and being betrayed , he became Darkin , then he was sealed in sword. Smth like that , still i dont know all stroy for 100% some detail can be missed.
He was a humman warrior from shurima that was ascended and during the great war against the Void his nation turned their back on him and other ascended as they fleed while Aatrox and other ascended were abandoned and fought. The void corrupted them and turned them demonic so when they came back they all fought with one another including their own nation. Then later on an aspect that controls Zoey gave their people the tools to trap all the Darkins, which is what they are considered after being corrupted. The sword is Aatrox and he is at his strongest when his spreads his wings. Since he was trapped in his sword only way he is able to finally breath and live is by someone holding his sword and then he possesses them, but their body rots overtime keeping him trapped in the sword.
both, he was (and will be if he somehow loses host[s]) trapped inside a sword, the "demon" is flesh from mortals made into his previous image, the one he wanted to go back to but never could, so now he embraces it instead
