These were happy days indeed. There was a bit of Smiths vs Housemartins rivalry in 86 as there was with Blur Oasis a decade later. I sat on the fence nearly 40 years ago and I still do though both have a fantastic legacy although the Housemartins should be better known.
Yes, he had a facelift-sexchange at this time but sadly the effects wore off and he went back to being a fat, ugly, old Irishman ... a bit like me really.
Who doesn't love the Housemartins?
Paul Heaton has still got the voice all these years later and a brilliant songwriter.
Very true, Fatboy Slims' not too shabby either.
Beautiful song and dancing style by The House Martins...used to do that back'n 80s....Can't help watching this video again and again.
and again and again... again and again and again and again...

Anna Ford! x
16th June, it appears, which makes sense because the single was very new then. Kenneth Williams on the same show.
Smashing!
This band pioneered the Mom Jeans look.
The guitar player's pants are rad.

The Smiths at home:
Except this song is great, as well as sounding like the Smiths.

Featuring Fatboy Slim on bass.
