This is great advice, but it doesn't apply to EU servers, because we have certain "people" that like to disregard every beginner tutorial, spend 0.5 dollars on a microphone and earrape everyone and then flame you while they are bottomfragging as reyna and jett.

    • @staffing9636
      @staffing9636 3 місяці тому

Indeed EU is filled with those people, but simply just mute. The comms inbetween their rants of blaming arent worth losing your mental over. If you fully ignore them from the moment they start flaming and keep your own comms up, they will in most cases forget that one play/round, and you will be more focused on the game and play better.

The algorithm is cooking this video, but it all seems like good advice for inside and outside the game

I'd also say: it's beneficial to play other agents outside of ranked so you can know their strengths and limitations. You don't need to know how to play EVERY agent like a pro, but each insight helps

The video is good and well said and I agree with some points but I personally disagree with how tip 1 was presented:
Being a jack of all trades is objectively better but its never good to start with trying to become better at too many things unless you are already highly proficient at 1 thing, at that point it would be fine to branch out to different roles and agents. Also team comps are not as important as many think a good controller can win you games but a fill/bad controller will be worse than a instalock reyna.
If I were to rephrase it I would say learn a role and then pick 2 agents from that role to focus and improve on. You shouldnt main a character but you should main a role, it is far easier to learn the nuances of characters in a certain role than different characters in seperate roles. Once your rank is higher i.e. Immortal+ picking one more role to widen your pool slightly.
TLDR; Main a role (Duelist, Recon initiator, Flash Initiator, Controller, or Sentinel) it will help you improve faster than playing multiple roles. People who know what they're doing on their character are better to have than people who are just Filling.

it isn't masquline to say "it is what it is", it is rather a sign of maturity where u have grown past the need to cause drama and realizing that some things/people u can't really change
Very good video, I have played fps games since -99 on very high level but in the past 10 years it has only been a leisure thing where I solo queue and in 2017 I solo queued to global elite in cs:go, I can only agree with all of the advice in the video

  • @Rose-ng2zp
    @Rose-ng2zp 3 місяці тому +3

    Horrible first advice my guy!
Learning too many agents is a waste of time if your goal is to improve and rank up fast. Just pick a role, pick just 1 or worst case 2 agents from that same role and stick to it. "Filling" is pointless since team composition doesn't matter until like Immortal 3+.
Given that you went semi-pro in other games, Filling is probably the reason why you are still low rank at VALORANT. (Also from the deathmatch footage, your mechanics need work too) But trust me everything will improve exponentially faster if you just stick to 1-2 agents at max. without worring about team balance and meta comp for maps etc etc.

    Incredibly long comment incoming :]
Okay first off, seems like the algorithm may have caught this since I've never interacted with your channel and this popped up in my feed. So if this video blow up for you, congrats! 2nd, you'll 100% get people saying you can't be giving advice cause you're a diamond player, ignore them as best you can. You're not giving gameplay tips. Advice on "how to solo queue more efficiently" isn't something that requires you to play at a super high level to understand.
I have a couple thoughts on what you said here and also kinda wanna make my own list for funzies as a thought exercise for myself too.
    * Your 1st tip, I disagree with completely (sorta). The learn maps thing, 100%, but that feels like a complete given regardless for anyone that wants to play the game competitively, so I'm really just focused on the agent part. I think your suggestion is pretty extreme, learning 2 agents per role. I won't necessarily say that people SHOULD stick to 1 role, because that's maybe a bit idealistic, but I think trying to learn that many agents is going to be very overwhelming to anyone sub high immortal (so basically the whole player base) and will lead to maybe....competency on several agents over time, but not really comfort and especially not mastery.
Personally, I'd much rather queue into a game where all my teammates are playing agents they're very comfortable on rather than trying to fill a role they have little experience on, since either often leads to more harm than good (ESPECIALLY for controllers and initiators). The fact that you mentioned playing agents your not familiar with as a negative here shows you obviously know the downsides of that, but I personally think that's the wrong way to go about it and I'll give my alternative for this tip in my own list below.
Besides that, the only other big disagreement I have is you recommending to only dodge when there's a pregame lobby issue w teammate and to do it a single time. I won't go super in depth, cause it'll kinda go along with what I have in my list, but i think dodging in several scenarios is valid and recommended, so long as you're managing your penalties and not using it as a crutch to avoid learning a map or something like that. Apart from that, I agree with everything you said and think you were really well spoken and put out a really quality video!
Now, I'd like to make my own list with some added nuances (really just for fun on my end, but if it actually did end up helping anyone then awesome). Will be more targeted to solo queue, but will have some overlap with playing comp in general.
    1. Get an agent pool
While I do think that it's more beneficial to stick to a single role across the entire game (and to a lesser extent, at least map by map), I understand that it's not realistic to expect many to do so. If you do chose to do this, pick the role you enjoy playing the most and become a master at it. We play the game for fun, right? So pick what you like and get good at it. If not though, I think picking 2 agents per map (and making some effort to limit it to 3-4 total across all maps) is a good recommendation. I think this will allow players to get a lot closer to mastery and definitely feel a lot more comfortable than your tip or 2 per role. I'd also add, try to make an effort to play "viable" agents per map. Not necessarily meta, but ones that won't cause a significant detrimental effect to the comp (Viper on Ascent, Sova on Split). Find a balance between what you ENJOY, and how much optimization you're willing to give up for it.
An example of what I'm thinking could be like this:
    Ascent - Fade, Sova
    Bind - Fade, Viper
    Breeze - Viper, Sova
    Icebox - Viper, Sova
    Lotus - Fade, Omen
    Split - Fade, Omen
    Sunset - Sova, Omen
4 total agents across 2 roles and 2 options per map. Last thing on this tip, please instalock. If you make the effort to get good at an agent(s) on any given map, learn tech, practice on them, ect - make sure you're playing them. Play the agents your best at, so lock in right when you get in. Occasionally (often if you're on duelist), you'll get people annoyed, but a slightly bothered teammate is way less bad than you playing agents you aren't familiar with.
    2. Use your mic
There's soooo much I could go in depth on here, but I'll try to keep it more simple. Everything OP said in the video is 100%, but I'll add these 2 things:
*Say everything you see/hear (aka info comms), If you see a piece of util, call it. If you hear anything, call it. If the bomb is tapped, call it. Additionally to this, ping bomb for your teammates postplant on attack when you're dead, it's SOOO helpful to them. Basically, be the teammate you'd want. You know how helpful it is to get a call that bomb is being planted and having those extra seconds to start rotating. Or hearing that your teammate saw 4 of them so you can rotate, ect ect. It costs nothing to make these comms and they'll always help your team. If it's going poorly, don't stop giving them. (This is 1 massive way you can influence yourself to "get lucky and get better teammates")
*Let people around you know your plan. If you're defending B site with 1 other person and planning to peek off rip, let them know. Everyone knows how frustrating it is when their teammate insta dies off a peek you had no clue was coming. This goes for peeks, util you're gonna use early in the round, making plays together, ect. You don't have to clear a super high bar or always coordinate together, just make them aware of your intentions for the first 10-20 seconds so they can mentally prepare their response. It's extremely helpful.
    3. Create a schedule
As a solo queue player, you don't have to worry about meshing schedules with friends to play together or whether you'll have someone online. This let's you be completely in control of when/how you play the game. If you're watching a video like this (and especially if you read this comment this far), presumably you're committed to improving, so setting a schedule for playing your video game at that point isn't cringe and can be quite useful.
Now, it doesn't have to be like EXACT set times or something like that, but depending on your flexibility and willingness, make something that works for you. Couple examples:
3-4 comp games on 5/7 days of the week
    Or
20 total comp games throughout the week
Basically the point is, get yourself into a routine if you're trying to improve. Same idea as anything in life you wanna get better at. Make it fit your specific situation/goals and something you know you can be consistent with.
    4. Protect your mental
Your aim will vary day to day
Your decisions will vary day to day
I think for most players though, the think that varies most day to day, and match to match even is their mental. Take steps to protect it. Toxic, or even annoying teammate, mute them. The loss from anything helpful they may say will be far outweighed by you not playing worse or getting angry about what they say. You can applie this to a lot of things, but teammates are the most glaring for most people. Best thing you can do for yourself is acknowledge that game to game, the quality of your teammates' performances AND personalities will vary drastically. You control what you can and let the rest be what it will (like OP said in the video). Hard as it may be at times, if you can get into that mode where you only worry about yourself and what you can control you'll have more fun, play better, and climb faster 100%. Bad days will happen, both your own performance and bad teammates. If you can tell you're getting tilted, be honest with yourself and call it a day if you know you can't reverse it and it'll affect your performance
Honestly don't have a 5th that would applie significantly more to solo queue, so gonna leave it at that. Once again, very quality vid OP, much respect! Always appreciate anyone trying to make those around them better. Anyone that read this essay, thanks haha 😄

    1. Solo queueing isnt necessarily bad, youll learn more by solo queuing than 3 or 5 stacking. Duoing is fine as long as your duo shares a similar mindset
    2. Trying to learn too many agents is gonna hinder your improvement. Learn ONE role and 1-2 agents within that role.
    3. "Use mic" is advice now? Should probably focus on what should be said when talking that just telling people to talk
    4. Yes you should take breaks, but not to the extent where youre scared too queue up because youre not feeling perfect
    5. The taking care of yourself is good advice, but could have gone more in depth. Your real life circumstances have a massive impact on your performance.
    6. Sometimes it is your teammates fault but its really really rare, instead of trying to find reasons to put blame on your teammates learn what to expect from them and play around those expectations.
All in all not a very good video, could do more bad than good for a lot of people

    • @CR0WYT
      @CR0WYT  3 місяці тому

      3. Yeah unfortunately. Actually owning a mic and using it is a tip considering how I get 4 teammates that don't want to talk for some reason half the time. Either I'm the unluckiest mfer or the low-mid ranks homes a lot of shy people.

I can't even begin to explain to you how cringe it is that you're sat making advice videos when you're in the bottom % of players for every stat category with that many games played, and solo queuing is no excuse.
