- A closer look at the uniform inspection during the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. This happened on July 8th, 2023. This is located at the Arlington National Cemetery.
I plan on making a compilation video of all my shorts on my channel from my most recent Washington, D.C. trip! Stay tuned for that!
Is that an officer completing the inspection?
No he is not. They don't display rank in case they would outrank the unknown soldier. I know he's not an officer because he is my Nephew and I'm very proud of him.@@721todd
Wow!
Well, that inspires me to keep a tidy home.
Seriously, I have enormous respect. My father was an airborne career Chaplain and I had a wonderful childhood as a Army Brat..
And every evening after dinner I polished his brass belt buckle for my 50 cents a week allowance..
Great video!
Hes just so precise
Im Canadian and this makes me tear up and proud that my American brothers and sisters have this much honor, duty, respect, Godbless
😂😂 Americans, honor and respect???? Impossible
Это от нечего делать. Это не гордость, это от скуки. Тут нечем гордиться
I'm glad our military does. I wish the rest of our country did. The loud minority is embarrassing to the respect these men show.
@@nashatyr563 Согласен. И вечный огонь можно выключать, а то что его скуки ради держать?
Same. From Spain. Much honor is beyond admirable to me.
One of the very few military displays America is allowed to see. Well done.
What displays can't you see? It's a contradiction of terms
Да,ладно😂,а я посмеялась вдоволь😂😂😂,цирк настоящий😂а когда тот,маленький позади большого оказался я думала он пенька хочет дать😂
@user-lr6tn4vt4o at least you got a laugh. Bc your comment was corny.
I grew up in Arlington and have several former neighbors buried in Arlington National Cemetery and every time I go there I try to stay and watch the changing of the Guard. It still chokes me up to this day and I’ve seen it a MILLION times. It’s one of those things that, no matter how many times I see it, it will always makes me emotional.
Very lucky you are!! I was there @13 years old w/ my folks WWII veterans it still touches my heart DECADES LATER
@@marciawilli6744 I agree it’s very lovely and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I have to say I have only been to one funeral in my life and it was for a man I considered my grandfather (both of mine had passed before I was born) and it was at Arlington and I will never be the same. It was very emotional and I will NEVER forget it
you grew up in a cemetery?
@@a12fe154 no I grew up in Arlington, Virginia and lived near the cemetery
I was a guide in Arlington National Cemetery for three years
.this ceremony always got to me...then our Cousin married a retired member of The Old Guard...he is a very welcome member to our family. GO NAVY BEAT ARMY 😂🏈
God bless our service men and women. Thank you for everything you do for us!!!
Thank you, Crisp Discipline that Walk Awe impressive....❤
So damn crisp and precise.
Crisp and precise, yes, but why do they walk like they've got a disability?
And useless. They are decorations, that's it.
@@malsawmzela609At least they serve a purpose. ;)
@@madsakuya3156 with incredible salaries yes. It's like recruiting an entertainer in front of your house. They serve a purpose, but are completely useless.
@@malsawmzela609That's kinda contradicting
Respect been there my daughter presented wreath so proud of her thank you
If you don't mind me asking, who is your daughter? I work here on the same base.
she was there been almost15 years ago
Una payasada
Went to see this on my 8th grade field trip in 94. Didnt appreciate it nearly enough.
I’m English I found this ceremony so amazing. 24/7 a testimonial for the heroes just beautiful ❤❤
This never gets old. Ever.
Impeccable performance
I was there year's ago, saw the changing of the guard, very impressive, I got pictures of the ceremony.
As a veteran of two decades, guarding the tomb is the ultimate duty of honour. But the inspections have been reduced to a circus act for tourists. The inspecting officer is practicing his robot dancing with those wooden movements and waving the leg around just to make a click when you turn or halt is laughable.
Every person should see this in person once. I did. Awe inspiring.
it really does give you chills in person
It’s very boring and a waste of my tax dollars
@@staymadloser7754 You seem nice.
@@staymadloser7754you don’t make enough to pay taxes
@@staymadloser7754you will never have 1% of the discipline these guys have
You can judge the heart and soul of a nation by how it treats its war dead and In the way it honors those who have paid the ultimate price.
If you think this circus is respectful to the dead, you know nothing of military matters.
OR……. How about how the nation treats the war ALIVE folks……..The ones that come back…….. I live in Los Angeles……
@@nupsi13queyeah that may be another, rather important factor
the ultimate price that they forced to pay, such heart and soul, what a nice nation
Not the current Prez.
Can u imagine tourists disrespecting these soldiers like they disrespect our Kings Guard??
No. It annoys the hell out of me the way our Kings Guard and horses are disrespected by tourists from every other country
As an American, I have never understood why people do that. If you are traveling anywhere please do your research it is not that hard! Be respectful to everyone!
Not surprised to see you here
@@charlottecunningham2141 pleased you're not disappointed
Ich bin überall respektvoll. Ich würde es mir aber nicht anschauen, weil ich das total albern finde.
Aber wer es mag
They look like they’re floating wow. So sharp ❤🇮🇪🙏🏻

Seen this several times as a child. Very impressive and solemn. You can hear a pin drop 🇺🇸

It is AMAZING what these people commit to. SO much more than this awesome ceremony.
Four people have been buried in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, one each for World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. However, the body buried on behalf of soldiers in Vietnam was later exhumed.Nov 4, 2021 DNA testing during the 1990s revealed that the Vietnam unknown was in fact First Lt. Michael J. Blassie, whose remains were subsequently exhumed.
Forgive the question. Was Lt. Blassie replaced or does the tomb hold the other three?
@@trajan231 he was not replaced,
Looks like a robot dance or a scene from "Terminator "
The way they hit their heels together when they snap to attention 🤌🏽

Amazing - pure respect 🧡🇺🇸
So awesome and truly excellent. Thank you for your dedication to the Unknown Soldier, it's so important. ❤🇺🇸
❤❤❤
Great passion for acknowledging the unknown ones… I appreciate the recognition of the different ways we serve when we attend public functions when we are asked to stand and be acknowledged while we visit the US as Canadian citizens
Thank you for all the men and women of service Praise the Lord
Blue Chord infantryman. God's favorite MOS 😎
LoL no
There was a time that all Sentinels were 11B
@@kevindonovan8393 The Sergeant of the Guard is an MP. That was the only way to allow women to be Tomb Sentinels. It will be some time for females in CMF 11 to become assigned to the 3rd Infantry Regiment.
@@davidm3000ify I’m not sure about the current SOG, but the one that just left was 11B. When I was a Sentinel, ‘81-‘84, we were all 11B. There is currently one female 11B assigned to the Tomb.
All respect to the men and women who serve this great nation and double for the All American.❤🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲❤❤❤❤❤️
This is one of the most important military positions of guarding the unknown soldier . Extremely important that we never forget these soldiers …
It’s the most somber of an event I’ve been to. To understand and know why that tomb is there is heartbreaking
That's discipline.....!
Sembra più stupidità …
Honor
🇬🇧 respect. God bless America.
Thank You for your service gentlemen. U.S. Navy Veteran. Texas.
This should be more celebrated than a pride month
This is occurs 24/7 so that Pride Month can be celebrated. So you can have your Ammendments. So all the month celebrations can be had. So you can worship as you please.
'Merica=FREEDOM. Not just the freedoms you chose/want, but all of them to all Americans.
you`re right, it looks quite homoerotic
Love the double click
This is majestic to witness, for any tourist out there the Tomb Of the Unknown Soldier is one of the best places to visit, I went as a high school teen in 2011 got the chance to do many things at the white house and surrounding areas, but this one particular spot was majestic, peaceful, quiet.
Truly the best of the best!! I could watch this all day
It was an amazing experience! I went twice during my trip! I am going again next summer!
I got to see it 40 years ago my son went to DC in high school with his ROTC he still talks about it 5 years later I wish more young men and women could witness this first hand .
Bro why is there a kid with one shoe on in the back 💀
That concrete was hot that day too!
THAT WAS YOU☠️
You’re watching absolute excellence.

Much respect to the guards and the unknown soldier. God bless
The dedication to that special duty is beyond comprehension. You literally must maintain a discipline for the remainder of your life. Even after your tour is over. Never to bring disgrace to that unit.

Nothing more honorable than being a member of the “OLD GUARD” and being a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown.
Totally awesome
I am told that those guys do this service for the unknown warrior every day and in any weather, be it rain hail, snow, and ice .
I would not be surprised if they would do this in the teeth of a Hurricane or Tornado, such is their dedication. With much respect to them from over here in the UK.
Yes, guarded 24/7/365 ever since sometime in 1937
1943 i think. And they do; Hurricane Sandy happened. There has been a guard there since October 6th 1943 (i think)
Always amazed watching this
This was on my birthday!
No rank is to be worn by the tomb sentinels as to not outrank who may be inside. Truly respectful and honorable
