@@augustinwinters17 interesting. in the first season or two, i wasn't sure whom jess was gonna end up with - nick or schmidt. since that kiss episode however, i could not see her anymore with anyone else but nick.
The way Jess’s voice changes when she says “deep lunges,” how it breaks when she yells “I barely live with it now, the emotion behind “You drive me nuts, Miller!” Perfection.
His line of out of curiosity why do you think that always kind of broke me bc he delivered that and the follow up so well like he had a little hope and then just like yep…of course she would never go for me. Freakin love Jake Johnson
@alex unger There is NO such thing as friendzone, if the person doesn't want you, she/he doesn't want you, and there's no more to it. If you stay close to person you like just to be around and harbor some hopes - well that's on YOU, not on that person who might not even realize you have some feelings and hopes.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 I actually disagree. I think what we’re referring to is being on the hook (watch HIMYM pleaseeee and the clip about being on the hook TRUST MEEE)
@@herahmusa Being on the hook, according to the HIMYM episode is someone dragging another potential interest around with a promise of a future relationship; the "I can't be with you... right now" or "I am interested in you but do not want to be your boyfriend/girlfriend since I'm in a relationship, but if we break up, we can start one". The goal of the hooker may be to garner self-gratification and attention 'seekment' from the 'hookee'. What Eugenyia means is the friendzone situation where your potential interest has clearly stated that she/he doesn't want to pursue a romantic relationship with you, but you still want to at least maintain a friendship with the intention of pursuing the hope of someday starting a relationship. She is saying that the one in the friendzone shouldn't harbour any resentment towards his/her interest if she/he is friends with them, especially if that interest has continually stated that she/he is not interested in you romatically, and it was you who struck up the friendship
the only way this conversation isn’t ridiculous is because they actually like each other. Both of them know that they’re attracted to the other person. Otherwise this would have just been a guy complaining that he can’t have sex with his friend who happens to be a woman.
So you don't think it was weird that Jess needed to go on dates with Nick in order to be able to hook up with Sam? She was using Nick to keep her emotional needs fulfilled while fucking some other dude it was frankly pathetic. Nick was completely right to draw a line and say "if you're gonna have dates, go have them with the guy you're having sex with". Nick had feelings for Jess (he later admitted he fell in love the moment he saw her) and obviously Jess was taking advantage of that (without knowing it). Schmidt and Winston would never build her damn furniture, friends don't do that for each other. A friend will usually give a helping hand and build it with you, but never just build it for you themselves without you ever even attempting to do it. Especially after driving an hour 45 minutes to IKEA. Nick was totally being used in this episode, and Winston was a good friend for pointing that out to him.
„Boyfriend without the rewards“ always bothered me like...? You do nice things for your partner so they give you sex? No relationship, friendship or romantic, should be seen as service-reward? You do nice things for someone bc you love them and the reward is deeper human connection?
This scene just screams out the absurdity of the north American tipping system. Someone that lives off tips needs to give away their tips to help someone live off tips. In Aus we give other bar tenders discounts, not mandate they pay us personally!

Her and Schmidt though. Now that's tension
