Did a bit of a sound test on the black 6 string steel guitar. Hope to be inspiring to the builders here. Please keep in mind I am an amateur builder and player. - Розваги
That steel has great tone and really stands out...nicely done. A real looker too!
Thanks Steve! You should come over and play it for a while then we can go fishing afterwards!
That's a nice sounding steel and looks well made. Well done mate.
Thank you!
Sounds great!
Thanks Steven!
You're welcome, might get you to build me a Pedal Dobro someday ;) Would be a good project :D
@@stevenhickenjr You sounded good on Jimmie Hudson's! Hope things are going well for you!
I stride to have and play sweet steel like that
Thank you!
E9th tuning. The middle six of a ten string.
Hi,
Hope you're doing well. Thank you for documenting and sharing all of these builds. I was wondering where you are sourcing your pedals -- I'm having a tough time finding some.
Thanks!
Regards,
Steven
I am building my own pedals. Thanks for watching
SUCESSO.
I am thinking about building me another 6 string PSG, wanted to add knee levers to this one, but doing some checking two of the knee levers will not be any problem but the LKL and LKR pull and push the same strings, where do you find the mechanism for the push pull of strings, on the 6 string would be the second string and the 6th string, do you have to make the device or can you buy one. LKL goes from E to F and same strings on LKR goes down to D, as for now I have hit a snag
The knee lever that lowers the pitch on a pull release guitar is spring loaded against its stop. It releases the string down to pitch by stretching the string. The other lever that raises the same string does not have a spring and just raises the pitch of that string to its stop. There has to be enough free travel on the raise lever to allow the lowering lever to operate.
Hi, excellent build! I am attempting to build my own 6 string pedal steel guitar. Could you explain the tuning and what string are effected when pushing the A pedal and B pedal and what they are changed to, thanks.
My setup is the middle six of a ten string PSG. High to low is G# E B G# F# E. A pedal raises the B to a C#. B pedal raises the G# strings to A and the knee lever lowers the E strings to D#
would you build a six string with Open G tuning and readjustable to e9.HUDSON steel guitars has done one. THERE IS A USED ONE ON THE STEELGUITAR FORUM
Would love to be able to but I am working on 2 ten string PSG's and don't know when I could get to it.

what kind of wood did you use on this PSG?
Top was pine with poplar aprons
I made one from plywood, I never could get rid of string buzz, it wasn't really bad but it was there, most people said they didn't pay attention to it, but I could hear it, so I made one from Oak, and, the difference was like day light and dark, have you ever had string buzz in any you built?
@@randybird9979 yes but mine was not the wood it was a roller nut not being level accross the strings
What tuning are you using?
E9th from high to low G# E B G# F# E
is it possible to turn a right hand into a left hand .. devils child here .. lol thanks
Not to easily on this one.
