Fabulous song. John Fogerty is the singer, lead guitarist 🎸 and main songwriter for CCR. I got their greatest hits collection 20 odd years ago and could not stop playing it. So, I bought the boxed set of everything they have ever done. And almost all of it is fire bro! 🔥
They are not from the south. They are from San Francisco. But they are known for what became identified as Swamp Rock. A southern style, but quite different from more conventional southern rock like the Allman Brothers, Lynard Skynard, or the Outlaws.
These guys had a bluesy/swampy sound during a time when heavy metal guitars were ruling the land. They did a lot of original music while at the same time doing some killer covers of classic r & b tunes. They formed in California but they sure had a southern sound. John Fogarty was the lead singer & lead guitarist & he did have a unique sounding voice in the late 60's when this was recorded. He is still performing with his children. "Green RIver", "Midnight Special", "I Put A Spell On You", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Susie Q", "Tombstone Shadow', "Fortunate Son" are a few to react to.
That mysterious instrument was an electric guitar. You really are a newbie to the music scene, aren't you? Welcome to the most pleasurable journey of your life. CCR was my favourite band when I was 13 years old! Still love them and John Fogerty is still touring!
Love the cowbell! CCR has a very large list for you to react to. Check out Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, I Heard it through the Grapevine, Looking Out My Backdoor, Down on the Corner and many more. They were from El Cerrito CA. John Fogerty is the lead singer.
One of the greatest American bands of all time! Very deep rabbit hole. Check out Bad Moon Rising, I Put a Spell on You, Fortunate Son, Penthouse Pauper, Cotton Fields, Suzy Q and Heard it Through the Grape Vine to get a taste of their range. You won’t be disappointed.
"The Penthouse Pauper" by them - won't be disappointed - very bluesy
