Pretty stupid and disrespectful skit that shows how ignorant people are about the Crown and how it works. The Queen is legally the physical personification of Canada, by singing "God Save the Queen", you are essentially singing "God Save Canada". The Queen does not sit upon a pedestal above Canada, she IS Canada.
Ontario still hasn't recognized the 1982 Constitution Act. Even the Constitution Act doesn't recognize the Constitution Act. Even the 150th doesn't recognize the Constitution Act, just Confederation when we hailed to the monarchy in the old Constitution Act which says we Canadians have to pledge allegiance to the Queen but not the supreme law in the Constitution Act
I was a child at the time and did not support the queen of England having anything to do with Canada and wonder why we haven't got rid of the monarchy link by now.
Because otherwise we'd end up like the United States. Look at true constitutional monarchies around the world and you'll find that they are always far more stable and prosperous than republics.
I am not interested in any form of government with a single head. I prefer a collective of elected representatives who are not members of or beholding to any party affiliation.
Interesting! I'd love to see some examples of where this has worked in history (In the governance of a large technologically advanced state). Switzerland would almost count, but doesn't because they still have parties.
I would too but if we can never try something unless others have done it first then mankind would never progress. Someone has to go first. It turns out though that the Baha'i Faith is governed in this way and electioneering is forbidden, there are no party politics and everyone is eligible to be elected by a simple majority in a secret ballot. Those who are known for their service, knowledge, wisdom and loving spirit are likely to be elected to be the local representative and on a national level, a none person governing body is elected from the representatives in the same secret ballot way. Those who want to be elected are not chosen due to their obvious love of power.
Monarchists like to play off an anti-US bias in Canada, pandering to one of our most unattractive traits. We're a proud, independent nation, which, at 150 years old, requires its own head of state. The existing arrangement preserves a symbol which fails to reflect our country. Our highest office-holder does not share our citizenship, doesn't live here, cannot hold any faith but that of the Church of England, and rules by birthright instead of democratic selection. The British crown constantly suggests sub-national status, impairs our ability to honor our own people and achievements, while insulting our flag. It's gotta go.

Oh chill out spanky
You are correct. You can tell by reading national documents such as the Constitution Acts as well as the foundations.
Is the queen implying that Justin's father was Castro? She should have signed it Pee Air Sucks

It’s not Ontario, it is Quebec that refused to sign the constitution act.
She seems so full of her self
