You Maine fans remember Justin tomberlin ? He played their with Paul Korea... He's the head coach for hibbing blue jackets ..on the iron range MN. Good friend of mine.. I remember watching him playing for GREENWAY high school back in the day.. this guy could really play!! Cray skilled hockey player! He played with Ken germander in "87" at the MN high school hockey tournament.. it was like watching magic.. unbelievable!
I been watching Maine play since I was 8 years old (1988) and yes I remember Justin Tomberlin. That was during the golden era of UMaine hockey at the Alfond. I helped with some of the construction/improvements of the Alfond in 2004 and I found a Nikolai Khabibulin signature goalie stick that was Jimmy Howards. I wanted to keep it really bad but I left it. The arena was damn near empty and no one probably would've noticed. My thought was yeah I'll probably get pinched the moment I walk out the door lol
Poor UNH they never won a ice hockey championship and they now won of worst teams in hockey east for last 12 years. They need new blood in the program and they have no hope right now .
