DMC5 Dante: _"I had a feeling the first time i saw you but i just wasn't sure"_ *(At the church)* _"And then i saw how the Yamato reacted ( __0:39__ ) and i was certain, he's your father..."_
I noticed that this boss fight not like the others. For example Vergil have move set and he use it no matter what we do, also it depends on phases and stuff. But Dante's moves depends on ours. If we shoot - he shoots, if we jump - he also jumps. If we trying to dodge his combo by jump he can stop his combo, jump and strike us. You don't really know what he will do in most of situations. And that versatility makes this boss so hard imo.
I really liked how they did this one! Vergil in DMC 3 and 5 looks so staged. I wish that on 5 he would at least adapt to combo dodges and chase the player more instead of whiffing combos and making himself open. Doesn't look very characteristic of him.
@@Bonus7 probably it would be cool but I'm afraid that it would be too hard to beat Vergil if he had similar mechanics with DMC4 Dante. Cuz the difference between these two boss fights is that Dante don't even use Devil Trigger. If Vergil had similar mechanics and Devil Trigger it would be too much I guess.

Challenging for me. Because it seems it can counter all your moves you throw at him. The other boss fights are easy but this one really gives me a hard time.
I assume the two had a chat after both had a clear schedule. It has also been established that Dante has given Nero the Devil May Cry sign which would probably require a few words.

@@enlighten92 except Vergil's final fight in DMC3, that one is the best final battle of the series and maybe the best equal to equal fight in the series, the arena, the dialogue, the rivalry between the brothers, the moveset, everything was brilliant and in my POV this fight takes third place as a "1v1" fight (credo being the second one because his battle is SO MUCH FUN) due to being flawed because Dante is so OP to fight on his second encounter, even on the lower difficulties, and that ruins the fun, he just dodges or block almost EVERYTHING you do and you're forced to fool his AI so you can get an opening to strike him back, there's no fun in getting a very strict time window to combo him, getting blocked DURING your combo and getting combo'd back so easily and receiving so much damage you're forced to play defensive if you want to win, but on the other side it's very challenging and it's very rewarding to win against his stupid overpowered AI, even if I dislike the fact your opponent has way more advantages than you do, the fight isn't so bad, better than the doppleganger fight in DMC3 for sure, that one is just "hit the light things around the arena, stun him, combo him, repeat"
This is how I generally envision a battle between Nero and Dante going. Nero at this point is a little headstrong, still got a lot to learn, but is still a serious badass, especially with the Yamato giving him the power of his father (though Nero doesn't know that Vergil is his dad yet, and won't know until DMC5). In the meantime, Dante's still playing with Nero, but has to take him seriously after a while because of Nero's newfound power, and his major aim is to humble this kid rather than destroy his ass like he would his more serious enemies. It's far from the flawless victory that those like Donguri who really know their Devil May Cry would do to a boss, and in the end, both of them have taken a hell of a beating.
"It has to stay in the faimily." "I need this." "Than keep it." HOLY JESUS did they really have 5 planned this far back? Becuase that exchange is now HELLA deep.
Nero said that he had voices in his head yearning for more power upon unlocking Devil Trigger. And apparently in some novelization/manga it was clearly mentioned, that this voice is Vergil - and Dante was able to sense him as well, hence why Dante is happy again. And then there was this scene with Nero and the bridge controls. That reminded me of Vergil freaking out because the seal wasn‘t breaking in DMC3.
It’s more likey they built off that foundation and just made there were no inconsistencies. Of course even in 4 it’s they always intended for Neto to be Vergil’s son
Thought this boss was cool, until I found out he’s input reading, and can pull shit you can’t when you are in control of him. Being paried out of a combo you punished him with is so fucking stupid.
You know, looking at this video 1 year after I uploaded it, I'm cringing at how many mistakes I've made. I could've done a way better job now. But, I'll keep it up anyway. :)
For me it's the opposite, I just jump cancel Berial for as long as I can to stay in the air as much as possible, especially with Nero and his Devil Snatcher. :))
Marius Urucu, it gets more funny when I find Dante quite uncomfortable to play after having done Nero's campaign with his Devil Bringer. The whole mechanics gets enriched, and even for me who is DMC fun for 17 years this subjective gameplay perception turns into a real surprise.
Weird that he never used Devil Trigger. I'm on my Dante Must Die run right now and all the enemies are abusing that stupid D.T. meter. It's making things rather slow going. Does Dante not use Devil Trigger in this fight for some reason?
it's funny because in the story Dante is just fucking around with Nero and passing time, but in DMD mode Dante is really trying to put his ass in the ground.

"Than keep it."
HOLY JESUS did they really have 5 planned this far back?
Cool uncle lets his newly discovered nephew have a free win after going easy on him for several minutes.
New DMC is back baby! Woohooo! Yeah!
half of the time I just even know what is going on
'I just don't even know what's going on half of the time'
You played very good dmc4 bro
This fight recks my shit. I've no idea how to even begin doing it stylishly.
You know, looking at this video 1 year after I uploaded it, I'm cringing at how many mistakes I've made. I could've done a way better job now. But, I'll keep it up anyway. :)
Input read is always fun capcom
The irony is that for me the whole boss-set is 100 times easier than Berial on the highest difficulty levels.
This fight took me damn near forever to beat on dante must die mode. The amount of Tries it took me one night was insane
Weird that he never used Devil Trigger. I'm on my Dante Must Die run right now and all the enemies are abusing that stupid D.T. meter. It's making things rather slow going. Does Dante not use Devil Trigger in this fight for some reason?
Yes, Dante it's toying with Nero, he is not fighting seriously.
he killed me twice on devil hunter or (normal) but you fought like a boss! defeated him on DMD!
Damn, i remember the first time i've fought him with Nero, Dante almost kicked my ass. I only beat him easily with Vergil.
it's funny because in the story Dante is just fucking around with Nero and passing time, but in DMD mode Dante is really trying to put his ass in the ground.
3:26 How to do this devil bringer combo ?
Nero sounds like Dr N.Gin when in devil trigger
A rematch between Nero and Dante
So my mistake was treating this fight like its still in devil hunter or SOS instead of taking every opportunity to get Dante in the air.
Ele esta aqui para nos honrar
3:58 "Hmm. Just like his old man..."
