It’s sad to see them go. They were having problems and their content had gone stale. But RT and AH were a part of my childhood. So I’m gonna cherish those good memories. I’d love to make my own RT one day if I could. Not really for money but to bring together another fun community.
As someone who grew up with rooster teeth. Im 23 turning 24 next month and ive been watching then for over 10 years. The thing that pushed me away, is that when they started to change people from the podcast and other things. When people have a little push back. We all got called racist and if we didnt like theses new people then well its because were racist when in reality, the new people arnt as entertaining as the original crew. Its already hard enough to have to try to watch newer people, but if they dont live up to our expectations and we get called racist for not liking it then im sorry but i just wont watch any newer content
This is the same reason for me, I remember when they did an episode of the achievement podcast, I remember Jack was just outright saying that we are racist because not many liked Fiona, I mean she just didn't fit in some of the videos for me, but that made me automatically racist.
@zachy2472 they have had poc come in and he a great hit to the fans, sadly it's just the sage we live in that your not allowed to not like something or someone without being a ist
I know, and I feel like RT is somewhat hypocritical when Mika Burton and Fiona exposed racist elements in RT's toxic workspace during the George Floyd protests. I mean hell, one of my hunches on why Miles fled RT was the fact some ex-fans were suspecting him to be racist (as well as sexism (a nasty tweet about Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Remake is a good example), general incompetence, and childish behavior towards criticism)
@broden4838 what's even better is that if you look up recent videos with mica in it (not even RT videos) and their the least viewed videos. What's worse about the situation is that it just so happend that both females who are apart of the LGBT community that happend to get hate and voiced then wasn't heard. It kinda seems like they more did that to get the spotlight which Geoff and the gang wanted to support (I remembered when Geoff cried on camera and I almost laughed) like honestly with what was going on in the world, they just happen to out of no where have problems with the company
Where do I sign up for the Teebor pyramid scheme? Also 6:43 is so true, it's just like when Adam and Jamie left. They tried to keep it alive with a spinoff show about choosing the new hosts of MythBusters, but it just wasn't the same. Gonna be interesting when mrbreast calls it quits and has to find a new host for his 240 million subs.
there is an online form for the pyramid scheme but it's a requirement to put down a $100 deposit ;) omg i don't even remember them trying to make another mythbusters show, i loved adam and jamie tho they were beauties
F**k Face Podcast is classic RT. They recently took over (or took back, depending on how you look at it) the Let’s Play YT Channel and the content is classic Achievement Hunter.
Definitely took it back, ha ha. From whatever the heck that unfunny dogbark zoomer crew were doing to it. The FF stuff is definitely just as good as the stuff they would make back in 2012 - 2015 when Ray was there
FF is great. Just wish the podcast was a video podcast. (yes i know, unpopular opinion) I just like to watch podcasts more than listen to them for whatever reason. Also does it do is fantastic
Roosterteeth officially died, but to me it died years ago. The passing of monty, the numerous scandals, the ever changing cast of personalities, ignoring fan feedback and suggestions and the general shift in attitude (e.g telling people to fuck off when they ask the gang to avoid politics) really put me off of them, so when i heard the news that they closed down i barely had a reaction because i stopped watching their stuff years ago
I use to love a lot of RT content back in the day, but sadly it just started to become stale. Honestly the only content I watch from them now is F**kFace and Funhaus
Seems like "in the next 5 years" was being optimistic. It's sad though. I was a huge Rooster Teeth fan MORE than 10 years ago. I started watching their content in like 2007 or 2008 or something. Back a little after "Halo 3" came out. Because I remember they had a "Red vs. Blue" video on the "Halo 3" legendary edition disk or something. I loved "Red vs. Blue." I was around when AHWU started and when Achievement Hunter actually did achievement guides. I was then around for the first let's plays. I actually bought Minecraft myself in 2012 because I saw them having so much fun in their first "Minecraft" let's play. I watched them for years and Ray was my favourite Achievement Hunter. So, you know, it's really sad. They were a big part of my life for a very long time. But I have to admit that I'm not surprised. I mean, I basically stopped watching their content in like 2016-2017. It just started feeling more and more soulless to me, personally. I know that probably a lot of people here actually STARTED to watch them in 2016 but for me that's when they started falling off and started losing my interest. Anyway, it's sad. I'll miss them. But admittedly I stopped watching their new contant a very long time ago. Though I still go back to their old content sometimes.
Definitely think they put their chips in on their people and og cast and they did good with Fiona in my opinion and Alfredo I also think they just kept the same thing going and didn't innovate. Unfortunately they also put people with a very different personality then what the og watchers were used to. Well thats the case for me at. I did recently get back into em especially with f**kface and the let's plays they do.
absolutely, some of their new cast members were great, i didn't mind Fiona, Alfredo or Trevor at all. But then it felt like every few videos had a brand new member that I'd never seen in my life lol. going through their youtube now though it seems like they still haven't innovated and are a little stuck in their ways like it's 2016 in terms of video's and their style.
I don’t know what the solution could’ve been, but it feels like every old UA-cam channel “company” just expanded at a level that was completely unsustainable. Massive amount of employees, newer, bigger offices every other year, etc. They did all of this and yet never really improved their content. Yeah, when it was Machinima and 2007, any level of production will set you apart, but when you start doing scripted shows and dumping massive amounts of money into them, maybe you shouldn’t let your community moderator with no experience have full creative control over everything. Their non-scripted content was never the problem (until it was lol), their instance to jump to full production ultimately doomed them in a way that was completely avoidable
I also find it wild that the people mad about RT having more inclusive hiring practices as time went on are the types to call trans people “groomers”, but are also upset with RT for firing an actual groomer and use him not being there anymore as a reason they stopped watching. I think as a company, they shot themselves in the foot a lot, but having a diverse staff and firing Ryan Haywood are not examples of that. This slow death was moreso the cause of them trying to become a giant corporate machine and becoming unsustainable, instead of just staying where they were at as the cool funny video game enthusiasts with a small group of talented employees. Maybe they’d still be making tons of money off of ad revenue, merchandise, website subscriptions, and conventions.
lol yeah you're right, I was super young at that point and wasn't super aware of them. I think having a diverse staff is great, I just don't think the specific people they picked meshed very well with the crew, or at least in the same way that their audience was used to seeing. Although roosterteeth audience was notoriously toxic and picky with the most random shit lol
Honestly, I thought you were going to talk shit like how most videos about RT has been in years, but surprised to hear the audience, like me, POV and I agree with it. The new cast members taking the place with the old. Like that's familiarity, someone that has grown up with you. To see them go, in my mind, is like having someone you know die or move far away from you. Like the show is could be cool, but it the people and/or characters are what connects and ties a viewer down. Whether to relate or meme on, its the face or presence that makes them liked.
100% agree, I said it already in the vid but they took away what was familiar for a lot of their audience and that definitely didn't help their situation
It's crazy that RWBY hit so hard instantly and called a heavy hitter. It felt like their side project to do some annime when it started. They had so many shows that were so much better. Day 5, crunch time, as well as camp camp, nomad of nowhere
i actually never got to watch any of their other shows but i heard good things. I'm surprised they didn't take another shot at making some sort of anime-esque show again
@TeeborHuge man, it was a great time before social media. The normies didn't bother us. It was just real nerds celebrating just having fun. Then, the social media attacked, and no one was allowed to have fun for mark ability and clout chasing.
Switching the cast members was the main reason I stopped watching Funhaus. I grew up watching the Adam, Bruce, James trio w/ Lawrence, Joel, Spoole, Elyse, etc. After almost everyone left there's not really a point to watch it anymore. The new people are ok, but just not my style. Funhaus was my favorite UA-cam channel of all time and I still watch a video here and there, but definitely not like I used to.
damn i didn't know the cast switch was that crazy in funhaus too, but I guess it makes sense since everything else had a huge cast switch lol. that's too bad tho! i remember funhaus being liked by a lot of people in the community
@@TeeborHuge I know this is late but I totally recommend looking at best ofs for their original cast, you’ll see pretty quick why people loved it. They were genuinely hilarious, they never shied away from a joke even if it came across as kind of edgy, and could do it because they were legitimately good people. Especially James, Bruce, Elyse and Lawrence.
Have watched RT and the other channels for over 10 years. There is so much that goes into why that company is failing. The youtube algorithm changes, and the content they made going stale ect. But a big part of lets play and achievement hunter failing was like you said, cast changes. But more importantly, the community going at each others throats about some of it. What i mean is, a lot of the people that they brought on just werent a good fit. But if you voiced your opinion, and the person happened to be black, half the community would tear you apart for being a racist. Now yes, some people were just straight up racist. But just because I found Ky to be the most unfunny person they added does not make me a racist. But god forbid I voice that opinion. Then you couple that with the fact that RT wouldnt listen anyways and just keep the same people on for far too long, and youve got a recipe for disaster. And again, this is pure opinion because im sure some people love Ky. I wasnt a fan of Ky or Trevor personally, though Trevor has grown on my over time. Which leads me to my next point- politics. Ill wrap this up, but a lot of the cast members had to go out and voice political opinions, and thats all fine, but I think that definitely had a lot to do with alienating a large portion of the viewership.
omg i totally forgot about how hostile the community was to its other members, this comment brought back a load of memories holy. I can't remember Ky all that well but I do remember her not being liked and then the company sorta keeping her anyway until she quit herself. I actually enjoyed Fiona being around once she settled into the group, same with Trevor and Alfredo but that's pretty new gen lol. and yeah, I'm not a big fan of politics being brought into online content either. Doesn't even matter what the political view point is, I feel like as people we see politics everywhere else in our lives, would be nice to get away from them once and awhile lol.
I'm glad you brung up politics because RT doesn't care if you voice your concerns as far as their leftist views. The reason why Joel was fired is because he said some right winged stuff on twitter😂😂
The signs were there when ray left tbh. Ever notice how low effort and barely there ray was for months before he left. I bet he was waaaaaaay ahead of the curb
At one point Jack responded to a fan comment asking them to avoid politics and his response was “No we are going to talk about politics. If you don’t like it then don’t watch” or something like that. That was it for me, I don’t want reality in my fun video game show
Agreed, things always go bad when politics get involved. Comparatively, Hololive is the most lucrative and most successful gamer group on UA-cam right now. They have super strict rules on politics, among many other topics, true to Idol Culture demands in Japan. They know the winning formula. More Fans = More Money. So, don't tick off half your fan base on petty opinions that have nothing to do with your craft. Everyone on UA-cam making a living off of it is an Entertainer at the end of the day. When you are no longer entertaining, but infuriating, you active a ticking clock. Drama and controversy sacrifice long-term stability in any venture for the benefits of short-term gain. Once the clock starts ticking, you start bleeding fans. The clock stops when you lose more fans than you gain, year over year. Rage-bait has diminishing returns. Eventually you pox yourself out of the market.
Rooster teeth will live on, the F*face podcast is the best thing to happen to the channel recently. The podcast is greater than the RT podcast and they now are the crew for lets plays, bringing them to a format that I enjoyed in the past. Their downfall was really change. I stopped enjoying them adding more people to the lets play channel and losing viewers. I will say that the company actively supports one political party as well, through their culture. Also didn't help my opinion on them a couple years ago.
RT was awesome. But the interactions between a limited number of known and loved personalities were the special sauce. Its gone. The RT, AchievementHunter, and RVB pages represent a grave. A place were the fans can chose to remember the good times. Not the slow, PC laden dive into obscurity. Also fuck ryan. I loved his contribution to the dynamic. But some shit cant be forgiven.

I was watching another video where somebody was comparing Rooster Teeth to another animation channel called “Glitch Productions” there’s a lot of hot water out there… 😖
One girl lied, the other girl he didn’t ask her age, only whether she was in high school or college. She was 17 (underage in the state that they hooked up in) but attending early college, so she wasn’t lying when she said “college”. Nevertheless, he targeted girls as young as he legally could, and specifically ones struggling with mental health because they were easier to manipulate.

It’s sad to see them go. They were having problems and their content had gone stale. But RT and AH were a part of my childhood. So I’m gonna cherish those good memories. I’d love to make my own RT one day if I could. Not really for money but to bring together another fun community.
They had the best Mario Party gameplay videos! I will miss their matches!
Cow Chop and Sugar Pine 7 are forever in the annals of UA-cam history, same with OG Funhaus, I’m forever grateful for that, but I’m not gonna miss RT
Yup! We’re racist but love Ray aka BrownMan. Riiiiiight Jack, that makes sense.
Gonna be interesting when mrbreast calls it quits and has to find a new host for his 240 million subs.
there is an online form for the pyramid scheme but it's a requirement to put down a $100 deposit ;)
omg i don't even remember them trying to make another mythbusters show, i loved adam and jamie tho they were beauties
F**k Face Podcast is classic RT. They recently took over (or took back, depending on how you look at it) the Let’s Play YT Channel and the content is classic Achievement Hunter.
love that shit and its way better then what they posted before it ended
Definitely took it back, ha ha. From whatever the heck that unfunny dogbark zoomer crew were doing to it. The FF stuff is definitely just as good as the stuff they would make back in 2012 - 2015 when Ray was there
FF is great. Just wish the podcast was a video podcast. (yes i know, unpopular opinion) I just like to watch podcasts more than listen to them for whatever reason. Also does it do is fantastic
Andrew Panton is classic RT, combined with geoff and gavin a few of the RT that never changed makes for great content
yeah ive seen snippets and it seems like they make some good content, i'll have to give it a watch thanks for the tip ;)
This video aged well LMAO, two weeks well to be exact 😂😅☕️
Roosterteeth officially died, but to me it died years ago. The passing of monty, the numerous scandals, the ever changing cast of personalities, ignoring fan feedback and suggestions and the general shift in attitude (e.g telling people to fuck off when they ask the gang to avoid politics) really put me off of them, so when i heard the news that they closed down i barely had a reaction because i stopped watching their stuff years ago
I use to love a lot of RT content back in the day, but sadly it just started to become stale. Honestly the only content I watch from them now is F**kFace and Funhaus
yeah their lack of innovation was another thing that I forgot to touch on in this video. you're 100% right tho
I reckon Achievement Hunter started going down with Fiona, then just died when Ryan got fired. Subscribers just dropped off drastically.
On your point at the beginning about the timeframe of their boom in popularity, I’d start closer to the 2011.
@@TeeborHuge facts I remember when they hated Jeremy and then he became a fan favorite
@@TeeborHugethey did Genlock was a big project that didn’t get far that had a few big names they could never get far.
2016, i remember watching RvB in like 2003
haha i was tiny lil guy way back then. wish i got to experience the beginnings though, seems like a good time
@TeeborHuge man, it was a great time before social media.
@@TeeborHuge fiona and bk both were ok once they got aettled, same with matt and alfredo when they first came on
I'm glad you brung up politics because RT doesn't care if you voice your concerns as far as their leftist views. The reason why Joel was fired is because he said some right winged stuff on twitter😂😂
@@dvader2004 well i wasnt gonna put it quite so bluntly, but yea pretty much lmao
That was it for me, I don’t want reality in my fun video game show
Agreed. I’m here to be entertained not be told who to vote for.
I like that I know exactly who he was talking about when he brought up the cast even though he mentioned no names. Like Ray and his Twitch channel

And 2 weeks later they are shut down.
Sad to see this happening, but it was inevitable. and honestly ret-coning RvB's last few seasons is trying too hard.
i think given all their controversies and alienating most of their fanbase it was absolutely inevitable. But I definitely think it could have been avoidable if they did more to stop it sooner. I haven't watched RvB or RWBY but I wouldn't be surprised if it came off that they're trying too hard lol
They didnt alienate their fanbase. Their fanbase just outgrew the content. They now run a very succesful podcast network and you are ill informed because you failed to mention their companies pivot into different media
I even predicted this would happen if they did not have Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross fired for their incompetence in 2017

I need to tell ya, rooster teeth started to crash around 2016. They got too political. There peak was 2013-2015
I thought Ryan didn’t sleep with anyone underage? Young but legal I thought
One girl lied, the other girl he didn’t ask her age, only whether she was in high school or college. She was 17 (underage in the state that they hooked up in) but attending early college, so she wasn’t lying when she said “college”.
Nevertheless, he targeted girls as young as he legally could, and specifically ones struggling with mental health because they were easier to manipulate.
it's been a few years obv since i've last looked into the whole situation, but as far as I can remember I believe there was at least one underaged girl. Even if it was legal, still super icky
i heard of RvsB through a buddy of mind in the early oughts. but never heard about Rooster teeth, untill Machinima let the good people of Inside Gaming go, and they started Funhaus, and i stopped watching them, when Bruce and Lawrence left..
