I never paid attention to the Hiwatt sound but this pedal has my attention! I wasn't watching the video, I had it playing while I was working and your sound was way beyond what I've heard from you before! I had to stop and come over to see what I was hearing! 🤯🤔...........👍😁

i was looking for something like this forever then today i was going to buy a hiwatt hi5 but then i decided to search hiwatt pedal and i found this! going with this much easier to lug around and cheaper!

Hiwatts=best sounding amps ever. This does a good job at recreating that live at leeds sound. Wonder how it is on bass.

To me, this does not sound like a Hiwatt. Can mostly hear it in the "clean" section. Doesn't have the right texture. This is where pretty much all "Hiwatt" pedals fall short, though, ie in the clean or low-gain feel. Once you turn the gain up then most just sound like an OD or distortion pedal with no distinct Hiwatt character. The only one I've never heard a demo on is the Menawatt pedal but I'd bank on that one the be the best. Just can't find a demo! But Menatone generally comes across with their AIAB stuff. The WllO pedal or RAH pedal were not convincing.
This pedal... With the gain up like at 5 minutes and around 7:30 it is incredibly fizzy. Yuck. Maybe it's the recording or some of the other interfaces... Or maybe the Gold Lace Sensor pickups? Idk, it was not working for me as a Hiwatt or even a pedal at that point. And why have a boost side? Just do the Hiwatt thing and you will have earned your keep, Crazy Tubes. Not every pedal has to be Super-sized.
Great playing as always Shane! And the demo did it's job helping me to decide if this pedal is for me - - or not. Just made me regret once again selling my Hiwatt DR104 head + 4x12 cab that I had in the early 80s - - bought from Steve Fryette when he was a local guy in a band and before he founded VHT. So consider me spoiled by the best.
