- What we do is important. How we do it is more important. But the most important is why we do it! The intention with which we do anything is what ultimately matters in life. Intention is what God/Guru looks at also. A beautiful story from the Bhagavatha Purana and the life experience of a Sai Student clearly show us that the Lord will go to any extent when the devotee's intent is pure.
The power of intention also puts to rest the debate on whether means justify the ends or ends justify the means. The end is 'what' we do and the means is 'how' we do. If 'why' we do something is good, then ends justify means and means justify ends. Else, nothing is justified!
This was a Zoom Satsangh delivered to the devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Sri Lanka.

Sairam Brother..Are you saying being born as Lord's greatest devotee means being separated from the Lord? Were Radha, Prahladha, Meerabai away from the Lord in any sense? IMHO there is a deeper meaning to this story..
Just as light is appreciated in darkness, union is appreciated in separation?
@@saistudent Sairam Brother..Another interpretation of the story that I identify with is that it is alluding to the fact that the quickest way to address imperfections within is by bringing them to the conscious level and either overcoming them through spiritual sadhana or suffering through them..In the story, Jaya and Vijaya can be compared to devotees of the Lord who still have imperfections in their mind and the best way to address them is to give them the opportunity to experience those imperfections on a conscious level and deal with the consequences..this also is in line when Swami says that for a devotee who prays to Him for equanimity of mind, Swami makes the devotee go through many experiences that disturb the mind so that eventually the devotee develops mental equanimity..Hope that makes sense..Again, this is just another way of looking at the story and not an absolute explanation..Sairam!
When Intentions are "Pure " solely for love of God means get negligible importance But when Intentions are Fake the means will expose him or her that is why in hindi we have a song "Irrade naek ho toh sapne bhi saakar hote hai"...

But no idea on how to start it off… now I got the idea! And very happy Annayya you spoke the greatness of Ravana, especially when many only focus on his negatives. In fact, countries like Indonesia, Uttar Pradesh and many more places build temples for Ravana and they literally worship him.
They used to say there’s no great Shiva Bhakta like Ravana. He came to earth for a reason, enacted a drama for a reason and fall for a reason. They will do anything just to uplift the name of our Lord, just to make us sing praises of our Lord decades after decades, they will do anything!
I used to say to my friends…..actually we have
no rights to insult or discriminate Ravanan because if Ravanan is alive today in 2021, he would have thought to himself that he is 1000 times better than we fellow human beings especially looking at the atrocities humans are doing everywhere around the globe. 😆
