Thanks. been watching your other spraying vids and think you can be very proud of what you have achieved. i am spraying my own, a first-timer. just bought a Clarke portable garage as my spray booth.
That's great stuff I used it on the bottom of my trailer and the floor aswell as inside the mudguards
Looks good, just bought some of this product to use on my Xtrail. I got told it needed a gravity spray gun but having seen your video, the good ol Schulz gun seems to do a good job. 👍
They give a wide range for the PSI because you can get different textures with higher or lower pressure. Higher pressure gives a wider spray pattern, and gives more of a ripple or wave effect as the product melds on the surface, while the lowest PSI of the range gives a coarser grain.
I wanted to know what a higher pressure would achieve. Totally different car but my Impreza has a minimal amount of rippled underseal/stoneguard and I'm going to do it all. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
Auntie Pam made a good job with the hair cut and you've done a good job with the stonechip. Well done to both of you 😉
Fantastic good Job you are really doing there.
That looks fantastic. it must feel like a big jump forward to have the floor looking so good.
it is , great to feel close to actually bolting something back in for last time (subframes , just need to clean and repair first
I've just tried this on top surface of a new steel floor I just fitted into my cattle trailer. I thought it should be a much tougher product for ware and tare than paint for cattle walking on it and it's a corrosive environment Amazed at the good looking finish
@@andywakefield9826 Very good but it is wearing a bit from the cattle as I expected (can't blame the product as it's not designed for that) , washing out after every use is still important. It is a very good product but I would recommend using a good primer paint first rather than applying to bear metal
Thanks for the reply. The fact it has geld up under such tough use shows how good it is. Im going to order some up 👌
@@andywakefield9826 you're welcome. for anyone considering using it for same purpose as I used it for, it works better than paint but a bit on the expensive side because it will wear off eventually, just a bit more slowly than paint. I think I used around 5 or 6 bottles just to cover the 16 x 8 ft floor. I tried it as an experiment but if I'm honest, it's perfect for under vehicles but a bit expensive for livestock trailer floors.
Yes you should have a mask on ..lucky it wasn't Raptor buddy. How are your lungs feeling today? Hopefully ok
thanks for the video, is this rustproofing ?
I done it with 40 psi and applied good
Nice super useful video!!! Do you have to apply Gravitex on bare metal or did you give a gray primer first? Thank you!
Good job done just wondering what car it was?
Have you got that on a spit or is it just laid on its side
Thanks for the vid. i found it very useful as i have just bought some of the same. i was wondering, 2 years on, if you are happy with the longevity of the product? i have an MGB and plan to put some of this stuff over dinitrol.
All going well. But please check out later videos with tintable stuff. Defo if you not going black
How can you time lapse the application of the stone chip to the area that was most visible to the camera.
is u-pol gravitex more rubberized?
would u-pol raptor bedliner be more resistant? esp for undercoating?
hi Matt grate job. you are doing really well! need to get my ass in to gear and get mine done. will done mate 🖒
Hi
Great video can you tell me is your car just rolled on its side or on a rotator
if you rolled it can you tell me how you did it
regards
Hi would a 24liter air compressor work with upol. Thanks
I'm sure it will you just might have to stop more often to wait for pressure
Which better u-pol or 3m?
hi mate, what psi did you spray at and what litre and psi is your compressor please?
Hey Matt. I'm about to do this myself. Im just wondering about where its sprayed around the subframe holes and steering bracket. Do you think the stone chip will be a hindrance?
Don’t remember worrying to much. Stone chip is not as tough as say powder coating. But if you worried. Just pop some bolts in any threaded holes
Hi Matt just rewatching this video(May 2022(...watched it when it came out...just had some Aldi 'fake' Pringles and a cup of tea....not sure if thats 'tea' so to speak...will have to wait and see...
Can i use thi with brush
Hi what size compressor do you have. Need to do this with my Ford Capri. However I only have a 24lt 8bar compressor.
about the same , just take your time , and pause to let compressor build if needed , you should be good to go
Nice work, which type of primer do you paint the metal with before applying the gravidex.
Matt Green cool. How you prep metal before applying epoxy. If you have mild pitted rust do you apply rust remover phosphoric acid or rust converter ?
I like your work man !!
@@diego168 You should sand back and remove rust otherwise it will just come back and ruin your new paint. Rust converters are not going to remove anything but the top layer and whatever is underneath will just continue to grow.
Any feedback? How long did this seal last?
can you send me the link to the ebay seller
is stonechip better than underseal? also can you underseal over stonechip?
no expert , but i would stick to one , or other , also see whats paintable to .. if you wanted paint matching
Can i use brush with this
Hi Matt Top job. Is the gravi-tex stone chip you used over paintable?
+Steve Beggins yes it is. Although not sure how much I will paint over as car going black anyway
Matt, I may have missed it, but did you buy this as a kit? I'm not sure which gun to buy. I am working on a BMW E30 and that texture is spot on for my needs.
Thanks !
+ZACH MICKLE will dig link. But just bought 6 bottles I think and a gun of eBay as a kit. Gun is a cheap and cheerful one
Hi! How many days before the undercoat fully hardened? I tried it and its now almost on the 2nd day already, it has dried up but it still rubbery.
Most stone chips / load liners are always a little rubbery. That’s what gives the protection
No. As that stops it chipping. It should not be tacky. Just never really hard.
@@MattGreenWorks Because i tried pressing my fingernail on it and it leaves a mark...
How many bottles did you use for the entire underside and how many coats? Thanks
Bang tidy that. Btw you have stopped calling us bogeys. Very sad. How did wife like the exhaust?
Did you paint over paint or primer
Good key should be fine. Can be quite a rough key I guess with stone chip covering it
No mask or ventilation jesus dude.
That stuff ain't to bad it's not as air born as paint and doesn't look like it has thinners in
I thought that...then saw that he had a can of Stellar so all ok
Looks good, can’t fault you for the cheeky can of Stella after a job well done 👍
I will be using this for my E46 M3 restoration
