- In this episode, my buddy Jeremy Gilmer of Rising River Guides catches a Striped Marlin on a fly and I make him a Marlin tattoo to serve as a trophy!

Congratulations , great fish . Your right on about be careful what you wish for . In 2014 my wife caught a 200lb + marlin , it took her over an hour it was so much fun watching her “ epic “ struggle. She did have a fighting belt on to rest the butt of her rod and still had a bruise. The guide and I cheered her on and cooled her down by pouring water on her occasionally and plying her with beer which I’m sure kept her going . Once we landed it she said never again , she lied :-) Awesome tattoo, keep up the good work . Thanks for sharing

Epic is truly the only word to describe that catch, the footage, and the tattoo! Such a crazy fight. I can’t imagine being hooked up to something that awesome for that long. The colors on the tattoo are so perfect, all of the blues look great!
What weight rod was he using? I usually see guys with offshore gear with another cork grip section up top, using like 16wt rods.
