As far as I know, it was mostly a "silent revolution". The Zapatistas seized the administrative buildings at night, and then they just stood and guarded them (putting forward demands, etc.). Therefore, mob roar do not fit here.
In fact, there were also armed confrontations between the army and the EZLN. There is also or was an entry on the internet about the crimes committed by the Mexican army against indigenous communities.
I like the song pick, but I don't think the background noise is fitting considering the nature of the Chiapas conflict itself. It was a pretty low-intensity conflict that mostly involved minor skirmishes in the bushes, rather than an all out chaotic war as the background sounds you've used make it seem. Also from what I've seen and read, artillery barrages never happened, as I don't even think the Mexican army even deployed any artillery devices, so I'd say that's the most glaring inaccuracy. There are also quite a handful of reports on the uprising on UA-cam (and some really good ones by Journeyman Pictures) that you could sample for the ambience. Sounds effects matching the forests of Chiapas may also make for a pretty nice touch.
You're wrong buddy, literally the Mexican government sent the special forces unites, semi-tanks (tanquetas), and heavy artillery, it was a dishonored war, because some soldiers take their uniforms off and infiltrated in the zapatistas army. A lot of people who was fighting with machete died by a bullet. The Mexican army has been a shitty institution since ever
@@LesCodes what I know for sure is that there absolutely were no artillery barrages of the sort you would hear in this song edit. That is because artillery barrages are used for strategic bombings (i.e. leveling down entire towns/villages), whilst in this conflict, artillery would have only ever been used to strike precise targets. So the audio is still glaringly inaccurate. Likewise, the intensity of the gunfight shown here is simply too much considering that most Zapatistas did not even have their hands on assault rifles and machine guns to give the constant slew of fire that we hear in this. and they generally stuck to small-scale skirmishes.
Zapatistas bringing out artillery would have been based though. I feel like some IRA type backhround noise would be better, sparse shots, occasional explosions, a few orders to shoot this or blow up that, and a boppin' song playing over the whole thing.
While the background sfx are really inappropriate for the chiapas conflict, I do think it's good to have a video like this highlighting the Guerra de liberación nacional. I learned about them from listening to Manu Chao's album Clandestino, and I suggest any English viewers go read a translated versions of some of the declaraciones de la selva lacandona, the cuarta (fourth) one especially. Very inspiring stuff in there. Continúan la lucha contra el mal gobierno, amigos
