    Just purchased the u6t. Tick all the boxes for what I'm looking for. Punchy and clear plus a little rumble in there too. Regrated selling my final b3 iem. I've tried several iems and sold all of them as they never sounded as good as the final b3, to me anyway. The u6t seems like a upgrade from the final b3. I'm happy the spending has stopped for now!

      Cannot second this enough. I know this is hard, and likely each category excels at different things for different reasons, but this info-with direct comparisons-made for each dimension of comparison, would be monumentally useful for those looking to drop $1K+ on their first TOTL-level purchase.

      my chime: a usd. 2,999 open back vs. a 1,598 Flagship IEM of the same tuning family, i.e. Smooth, warm, technical. The difference - scale of imaging only - the larger scale goes to the full size, albeit sound field dimensions are relatively the same...

    • @SoundWaveTrax
      @SoundWaveTrax 3 роки тому

      @@Luinitari A good $1K(ish) IEM can have better clarity that any $1K headphone and have a smoother sound but detail abilities haven't been that impressive in my experience. It seems most IEMs aim for a safe tuning which hurts the perception of detail too (texture is a bit smoothed over).

      Hey, I’m not sure if I’ll get a MEST MK2 anytime soon. But if the MEST MK2 is just a bassier MK1, then it’ll be more resolving and forward in the upper-midrange and treble than this. That said, I actually found myself preferring the BA bass on the U12t (and likely the U6t) over the MEST, stand-alone and due to coherency issues, plus the 64 Audio stuff has considerably more dynamic range.

    I love watching your videos and take tons of information from them. I have 2 questions since there is a ton of IEM videos here. Have you considered doing videos on JH Audio IEMs? Also what about discussing mobile Amp/DAC solutions like dragonfly/Onyx/FiioQ3 to go along with IEMs

    • @mensrea1251
      @mensrea1251 2 роки тому +1

      JH Audio iems are probably overpriced and underperform compared to what’s out there in the market. Chifi has changed the game completely since they first entered the market less than a decade ago. Old school iem manufacturers like Campfire and 64 Audio continue to innovate and diversify their product lines to adapt. JH Audio is an example of a company whose tech has been left way in the dust. Their way of “innovating” is to release completely new connectors for their cables - which the market neither wanted or needed, the classic answer looking for a problem. Based on JH’s relative silence over the past few years (when was their last iem product that truly made a splash in the market?), it appears they’ve resigned themselves to focusing on the specialized “pro” market (musicians and professional singers - most studio producers younger than 40 won’t touch JH), leaving the larger consumer and prosumer markets to others. I’d definitely be interested to hear what Resolve and others have to say about JH products, especially compared to the current generation of iems in the market.

      for those who appreciate accuracy (instrument players, mixers, editors etc) they most likely prefer jh, even compared to um

    I just got it late Friday. I've been listening to bombastic sets like campfire atlas and also just got in the LCD2 closed so this sounded a little....I don't know. AT first. I've listened to it and only it for 4 days now. I've also owned Nio and Ut12 for reference. I LOVED Nio. Almost kept it as end game. I wasn't as thrilled with ut12 but that could have been that i was auditioning those crazy sony's that sound like god but feel like titanic anchors in your ears so I was probably off on that one. ANYWAY, the ut6 is wonderful. I agree 100$ that it could use a tiny tiny bit more sparkle and maybe separation but it's a killer set. And comin from Atlas it sure is comfy.

    You've called the DUNU SA6 a somewhat scaled downed U12t. Where does U6t fit - worth X 2 in cost or just go with DUNU SA6? What's the trade-off?

    • @TheHEADPHONEShow
      @TheHEADPHONEShow  3 роки тому +2

      U6t is closer to the U12t in terms of technicalities. So somewhere in between, but I do think the SA6 is more similar in terms of tonal balance.

    To me, it seems like this isn't really a competitor to the CA Andromeda. I don't know of anyone who has bought the Ando because of it's base. It's more about the detail in the mids and extension of the treble (or sparkle), as well as soundstage.The U6t doesn't seem to out-perform the Andro in these areas. It seems like these are appealing to a different type of buyer. I would say the U6t is more competing with their two higher end products. Do you save up for the Neo, the U12t or do you spend now and have a cheaper blending of both? My question would be, do you go for the U6t, or the Mest Mk II for a few bucks more?
