It's one of mine as well, but hardly anyone seems to know it not even a lot of ABB fans. I saw the band when they were touring on this album, and I fell in love with this song the first time I ever heard it. I sometimes harmonize with Dickey when I'm playing Seven Turns in my car, although sometimes I also sing with Gregg near the end of the song. ❤️

@@chantalferrara7114Check out the Allman Betts band led by Gregg's son Devon Allman and Dickey's son Duane Betts. Each of them also has their own band, as Berry Duane Oakley, who played with them originally but seems floated away. And every year in recent years they do a tour called the Allman Family Revival, which features lots of other great musicians - enough to stretch across the entire stage for the finale - playing the Allman Brothers Band's catalog. I can't say whether they'll do it again this year but I went to the last one in Macon and it was unforgettable!
I sometimes fondly refer to The Allman Betts Band as ABB v.2! They started out doing mostly their fathers' songs, and they still do some of them, but they have several albums out and they're great. I can see their songwriting and performance dynamics improving each time I see them. For example, at the most recent show I've seen, they did a version of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed which was a highly improvisational jam of their own yet still faithful to the original version. ❤

Gonna be such a tragedy when we finally lose Dickey. Not looking forward to that. 😔 Thank God his son Duane is carrying on the legacy...and I guess we could thank Dickey for having a son that looks *EXACTLY* like him when he was around that age. He even plays like Dickey lol. But I'd expect it since his daddy is his favorite guitarist. 😎👍❤️ And unlike the Earnhardts in NASCAR, I'm sure Dickey taught Duane to play, and likely played with him often where Earnhardt Sr didn't teach Jr to race and they never talked about it really.

So very sad, prayers, sympathies, and condolances to Mr. Betts' family, my much adored legendary one and only Dickey Betts is now hopefully jamming in heaven with Duane, Butch, Lamar, Gregg, Berry. One of the true greatest guitarists EVER, a virtuoso of rock, blues, swing, country and more, and one of my very favorite singer songwriters too, I just LOVE Seven Turns, Revival, Blue Sky, Where It All Begins, and also his solo work, Nancy, Duane's Tune. The Memories I have of seeing and hearing Dickey perform and play live, just awesome. When I first saw him playing Duane's Tune in 1989 at the Allman Brothers Band 25th Anniversary and Dreams Boxed Set Reunion at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, Maryland, I jammed and rocked my you know what off, I saw Mr. Betts perform many times in concert and was blessed to meet him backstage. I've spent the last couple hours listening to ABB tunes on my laptop. This song is probably my absolute favorite that he wrote. I've been a fan since the late 70's and had only one opportunity to see them in the late 80's. The music world has lost one of the greatest legends of all time. My only solace is that Dickie has rejoined his lost brothers Duane, Greg, Barry, and Butch in heaven. My condolences go out to his family and band mates.

Man, look at Butch & Jaimoe. You could tell they genuinely loved each other like the Brothers they were. Those boys would followed Duane through the fire & the flames. And they would have, had he been there to lead em. They did anyway. All because of his vision of a band like no other in history.
    Thank you, Brothers. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lucky you. He seems like a down to earth guy. Really love this band, especially the original line up. Also a fan of Allman Betts Band. Devon Allman has some voice. Wish I could travel back in time. Life seemed a bit more simple and the BEST MUSIC EVER! The bands coming out of that era were insanely talented.

I got in the back of a shorter than expected line at the left side of the stage, stage-right as it were, most concert goers missed, 2006 ish at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Got autographs from him and his son, Devon's band "Honeytribe" opened for TABB.
I Talked to Gregg a good ten or fifteen minutes. Same as you said, clean and sober then, but still paying the price with Hepatitis-C, it's what killed him in the end. And/Or related problems.
Duane my favorite but little brother got great on his own right and stayed in the limelight for over 4 decades. RIP
Dickey may be a spun jerk or whatever, but he sure af killin' it here!
I go back to "Brothers and Sisters" and the Fillmore East stuff. Duane before that as Studio Musician, "Layla" with E.C. (Derek and the Dominoes), "Hey Jude" w/Wilson Picket a must hear, Aretha Franklin, John Hammond, Bozz Skaggs ("Somebody Loan me a dime"), etcetera. [See Anthology I & II]
So yeah, we had a lot to talk about and did, even Cher lol. Happy times, great memories.

Somebodies calling your name as I Love that lyric in this song! I lost my Mother 44 years ago in an automobile accident when I was a freshman in College and I always feel her calling my name from time to time. I've made so many turns on my highway over the many years as this Song always hits home to me. Many were good turns others were not so good at all! and that's why this song always hits home and there's No telling where my journey lies as I always believe this is what this song is about. The older I get the more it hits home as I've lost 6 older brothers and sisters also along my journey! Maybe I'm wrong, but I always believe that's what this song is about.

I’ve been a fan of this band and Derek trucks for close to 14 years. I’ve spent countless hours of listening and trying to emulate both Duanes & dereks playing.
But warrens slide solo on this is one of the best I’ve heard absolutely breathtaking. Miss you Dickie and butch the road goes on forever….
