That was right on point. I’m a commercial photographer here in central Florida a hundred bucks a hour is the average for real estate photography/ commercial photography pays more and then there’s events and conventions.
Thanks for sharing your workflow. I would agree, being flexible and remembering you're providing a service and relationships are very important is a good point. I'm in Texas and my daily may be a little lower right now but I believe you're spot on. I'm curious what type of shooting you do in the Fall and Winter when business is slower. I'm looking at Headshots, Commercial building shots, Inspecitions, etc.
I used to do more video production and small business branding shoots in the slower months. I say used to, because nowadays I'm learning to just not work as hard over the holidays and instead enjoy the family as they have time off as well. Work slowing down seasonally used to stress me out, but now I look forward to it. 🍻
I'm in South Korea... So you're the guy who keeps sending me pictures to edit! Nice to see you back on da Toob these last few weeks. Great transparent video. How do you decide what you edit yourself vs what you outsource? And how often does a client request both photo and video?
Yeah, the Tube burnt me out for a while. I'm trying to get back into it more consistently. I can see how the inclusion of discussing both outsourced editors and doing it myself could be confusing. Typically, I'll outsource the composites. Anything with layers, because those are the biggest time suck, and I'll edit both the single frame exposures myself as well as making a final pass at the returned composites before delivery. So yes, I outsource editing, as a hybrid kind of approach. Thats a good question about the photo and video together. I'd say no more than 10% of the time do I shoot video for a listing. It's never been a big part of my business. Stills, aerials, and twilight stills or some combination thereof are on every shoot...less often video or Matterport, but often enough to still keep them around and some clients order everything for every listing.
Honestly, if you get that as an average for everyday. Well done i'm from Saudi Arabia. if i did the exact same work as you did, i get only around 350$! This is why i decided to quite photography and work for part time for this job. what i get from photoghraphy will never take me to the next level, and even can't upgrade my a7iii Thank you for sharing
Not a chance. Not only are those bases iron, but that means you're taking the chance that the client will like where you put them. There are lots of reasons I wouldn't do that (not the least of which was a tight schedule that day), but if you would...rad.
Always great to see someone being realistic about the time & economics of RE photography.

Thank you very much for this very interesting video!
Thank you for watching it, brother! 🍻
weird question, what is the white thing under the brim of your cap?
lol. That manufacturer (Melin) makes all their hats with a button right there, so your dirty thumb doesn't smudge your hat when you handle it.
Whose your editor?👀
So here we are at the first shoot… and there’s already a problem.
Story of my life.
Do you find twilights are worth it? Time and effort wise?
Just...move the umbrellas, bro.
