Thanks, perfect video and honest too compared to those where service is performed on brand new forks where no bolts or seals got stuck and the lowers are so clean and shiny and the oil looks like it's good enough for my salad
Awesome video! I just performed service on my fork using your video, and it works great. The only thing I did differently which worked a lot easier for me was to put the foam rings in, before putting the seals. I first tried your method but didn't succeed, so I had to pop my seals back out and insert the rings first and then put the seals back in.
Your video is perfect, all of your tips were very helpful. Everything from the wrench to pull the seals which I was having trouble, with right up to how to clean the forks and how much oil to reinsert. Great job!👍
Great video- I learned a lot regarding this procedure. I have a SID Select that will be needing servicing. When are you planning on repainting that wall in the background? XD
my suspension is different, it has small open hole below on both sides,It has no bolts... When i open lid cover for putting oil, it drains from those holes. Can u make a video on that? I cant figure it out whats my suspension type.
I am going to do this on my 2016 Boxxer WC and am trying to figure out which SKF model seals you are using. Could you let me know or throw the model # of the seals somewhere. They look sick on your fork. 🤙
So if you don't want to get ripped off by paying for the SRAM product or the other honey what can you use? They are not using rocket science to put the stuff together for a grease
What about working only with the dust seals for the lowers and not touching the air springs? Is it good to open the lower bolts without removing the air if just doing that?
Just curious. With a fork that dirty, why didn’t you pull the damper and air spring out of the stanchions for some love? Seems like it would be worth doing since you already had the lowers off. IMO. Good video though. Thanks.
@@ChildrenOfTheLoam I just got a screw driver and shoved it back in and is staying when I push my shocks down so I will have to go for a ride and see if it stays. Great vid BTW
*After watching dozens of videos on the subject, this video has been the most straightforward and easiest to understand.*
I guess that is probably true. I was at no point baffled when watching it.

Very helpful, thanks mate! Was able to refresh my rockshoxs in an evening thanks to your video, bike rides great now 😁
Great tip on using the wrench on the fork seals, I was struggling!!
Followed exactly how you did it and it worked great. Thanks…now start pounding pucks on the driveway. 😎

Great job! Just got a used Norco with a leaking shock. Tyvm
Thank you, looking everywhere for info, yours works.
I kept doing it the wrong way, I used to lubricate it from the outside and now suspension is loose. Thanx for teaching.

Amazing video. Do you have a video on servicing a shock?
No but maybe I'll make one.
Thanks. Learned something today.....
Brilliant explanation

Hi there at the end you say 20 mm in spring side and 10 in other. How do i get it in the top off the shocker

Like it. Can not find where you purchase all the parts.
I'm going to be doing same thing with my pike tomorrow. I have same skf seals. Are they better than stock ? Is it worth replacing ?
they are better than stock but not worth replacing imo
i have a problem, i use double spring 220mm of travel, 30mm stanchions, how much oil do i need?

Hello everyone. Do i have to lube the new dust seals before putting them in? Thanks
You do not, you should put some suspension grease around the inside of them after they are installed though.
Children Of The Loam thanks a lot mate. Jod done 👍
where did you buy the seals? If I order from Aliexpress, will it be ok?
hi, what kind of oil? do you have a recommended oil brand?
Use 10w30 oil from either rockshox or maxima plus
So if you don't want to get ripped off by paying for the SRAM product or the other honey what can you use? They are not using rocket science to put the stuff together for a grease
good video
How big of a deal is that wear on your stanchions?
Im just wondering, do you need to remove the air in an Airfork if you need to service the seals ?
Only if you're working on the air spring
What about working only with the dust seals for the lowers and not touching the air springs? Is it good to open the lower bolts without removing the air if just doing that?
Can I change my silver stanchions to black somehow?
How often should you service them and change seals and whatnot? 3 monthly?
I believe rockshox recommends every 50 to 60 hours.
Just curious. With a fork that dirty, why didn’t you pull the damper and air spring out of the stanchions for some love? Seems like it would be worth doing since you already had the lowers off. IMO. Good video though. Thanks.
It was my friends bike that needed a quick service before selling. Glad you liked the vid though!
Ah damn I completely forgot when I did mine! Thanks for the comment mate I'll remember now 😂
When did you refit the two bolts??
Once the oil is in the lowers
Is it worth replacing just the lowers
can i use motorcycle fork seals and oil
My seal just fell off and just pops back up whenever my fork goes down. Do I have to replace the seals or just pop them back into place?
If it won't stay in place you'll have to replace it.
@@ChildrenOfTheLoam I just got a screw driver and shoved it back in and is staying when I push my shocks down so I will have to go for a ride and see if it stays. Great vid BTW
@@isaacandeastonshorts6631 solid, thanks man.
So one of my seals ripped and is now not secure do i have to replace the seal before i ride it again?
I hope you got it sorted and yes you need to replace that, which means a while new set... Can't buy just 1👍🙋
can you use water to wash the tubes out at all?
No, it does not mix well with the oil and could also cause corrosion.
is there an alternative for mtb fork seals
No sir
Just wondering, say I have air instead of a spring. Does the spring side still need oil?
Both sides will need lower oil irrespective of air or coil in rockshox pike or lyriks case 0w30 10 mil each side
Are seals the same on different forks
No they are not
Foam rings after seals? What a dumb suggestion
