Just bought it on the 5th. Grew up playing rollercoaster tycoon deluxe on pc. Played it every day after school and loved it. So far I'm loving this port. Wish it utilized touchscreen controls
Nice one. I'm actually impressed with the controls in this port - if you take the time to learn all the button combos, you can really speed things up vs dragging the mouse pointer everywhere, which is nice. RCT is one of those games I grew up wanting to play, but wasn't able to. I remember staring in envy at in-store boxes containing the PC version of the game, knowing computer gaming wasn't really an option for me at the time. A few years after the first game came out, I remember finally getting my hands on a used copy of one of the RCT games (I can't remember which), but never could get it to run right. The disappointment was immense, lol. When RCT3 came out on Switch a few years back, I finally got the chance to dive in and really enjoyed it. That said, I've always heard the first two are better in general, so I'm glad this version eventually came to the Switch. I can't wait to sink some serious hours into it.
@cl8804 I agree that touch controls should have been implemented from the start. That said, the developer has said it's in the works, so that is a feature which should be coming at some point. Also, the controls that do exist are genuinely better than mouse and keyboard in some ways (especially path and track building). If you take the time to learn the shortcuts you quickly realize how much thought went into making them work as well as they do. They aren't really showcased in this video, which is why I mentioned them. It was a truly pleasant surprise, and far better than I was expecting.
Dude I remember playing this as a kid, I played the first one on the PC like 15 or so years ago and I freaking loved it! I plan on getting it for my switch on Christmas, you can probably imagine my excitement when I discovered they ported this game to the switch. This will be such a nostalgia trip for me! The fact that it includes both RTC and RTC 2 and their expansions is really cool and totally seems worth the $25.00 USD price tag.
Definitely looks like a classic, and one of those games I always watched friends play, but never got the chance to play myself. Might have to get this one on Switch then!
@@kenz4687 Hold ZL and nudge the right stick forward or back. Nudging left/right rotates. Kinda hidden, but there are a bunch of shortcuts like that the controls section of the pause menu
It’s sooo good on the switch! Can’t believe this many years later I’m playing this on handheld. Too bad no sandbox or scenario creator though 😒

Would be great if they updated this on iOS. I'm not buying it again on switch. Especially with no sandbox/custom scenarios.
