Thank you so very much for this demonstration! It was simple enough that it helped me successfully draw my first , "magic wave" ! May Jesus bless your work.
I love this tutorial so much. Was looking for perfect waves tutorial with soft pastels. I'm glad this was on my recommendation. I'm definitely going to try this out. Thank you. 💙💙💙
Oh how wonderful. I am looking to get back into charcoal pastels and can't wait to do a beach ocean landscape like this. The last technique you showed is new to me with the scraping. Thank you for doing this. I need to see if you have other landscape tutorials too because I need to do one of our back yard which is farm country. Maybe I will send you a photo of my finished product. Again thank you so much.
j'adore ce tutoriel, ça m'aide beaucoup, merci à vous pour ce partage ! L'avantage avec you tube c'est que je peux mettre le sous titrage en Français ! Merci
I’ve been using pastels forever and I’m so bad at them lol but I’m going to try to improve, i just love the light, soft, ethereal effect you can get with pastels!
Hi loved this tutorial. Just wondering -- are Conte sticks crayons? Are they a hard pastel? A colored pencil? I'm new to this medium, so I don't have a clue. lol Thanks.
Hello! I use so many different brands :) rule of thumb, start with harder pastels and move through the process into softer pastels. I am working on a course for beginners at the moment where I will go through the process of choosing the right hardness when working.
Definitely. If you are a beginner I would suggest unison or rembrandts, also, take a look at kohinoor, they have very good pastels too and they are very affordable
Kate Amedeo Art thanks for your advice. I bought 80 half sticks of Sennelier pastels, just before your comment notification came through. Did I make a mistake? Should I see if I can cancel the purchase and get some Rembrandts or Koh-I-noors? I think they’re harder than the others. Do you think Nupastels are a good idea? I love your art!
@@1DaTJo no, Sennelier are realy good, they are really soft though, so will fill the tooth of the paper quite fast, so you have to mind the pressure. nupastels are a lot harder and if I had to choose, I would go with sennelier
Hello! Any brand of soft pastels in particular? I have 36 monte marte brand. Think they are not good. 😪 My colours create dust and not much stays on the paper at all.

Does a fixative on a soft pastel art will prevent it from smudging, bascially it's a protector
