The Raptors did their jobs. I loved the urgency they played with. Three guys were full speed chasing down a block from the back. Ibaka was playing volleyball with anything around the rim. It was a literal block party. That dagger by Van Vleet looked like a Steph three pointer.
Steph Curry's 47 didn't get them the win, but it gave them hope that he can produce in the finals which bolsters his teammates' confidence in him as a leader. If Steph's 47 points are meaningless because they ultimately lost, then every player on a losing team's points are meaningless and that's a ridiculous conclusion. Also, if you don't win games in the NBA, people still care about your stats. Otherwise, AI and Barkley wouldn't be Hall of Famers. People got love for McGrady, Grant Hill, and Vince Carter. No chips for those guys, but their stats are undeniable. These analyses from retired players or inexperienced commentators are getting increasingly and ironically meaningless.
'This is not a zoo. We're not animals' -Kendrick Perkins (2019) I love Kendricks analogies and mindset. Intelligent and funny dude. Give that man a contract already!
You're great Kendrick. Now please go school Stephan Jackson because he thinks that even after how the first 3 games have played out the Warriors are winning in 6.
Steph did what he had to do to get the win, unfortunately his supporting cast didn’t get him enough help to get the win. Very similar to LeBron, but the difference is Steph’s supporting cast was expected to play better while we always knew LeBron’s Cavs overachieved last postseason because of him
It's hard to call 47 points meaningless, but it's true, as proven by game 4. Your star shooter runs himself ragged with zero interior depth from his bench, scores 47, loses the the game and two days later has to do it again. That 47 points cost them big in game 4, coupled with TO beast of a defense was lethal.
Obviously the injuries to KD, Klay and Kevon are really decimating the Warriors. I just read that KD is not playing in game 4. The weight on the Warriors is heavy.
Nothing Steph did in game 3 was "meaningless"...it was the rest of team that was non-existent. Curry did everything in his power to get it close and his teammates blew layups consistently.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Perk a 6 foot 11 300 pound man who is somewhat into jiu jitsu... Still dont why Drake would even think of stepping up lmao
Steph is what he is. Great shooter bad defender. He cannot jump and his teams is going down 4-1 in the finals. He is not the best player on his own team. Durant is. Without Durant, Steph likely never wins another ring. NOBODY on earth but maybe his mama, would pick Steph over Leonard to be on his team.
Steph can go for a hundred or average a triple double in the finals and these fools will still be on lebron and Kawhi’s jock. Also If Kerr plays steph on Lowry and let’s him be physical on d, they might have had a chance in game 3. The whole story tonight is different. Kerr needs to trust Steph on d.
If you lose the game then your points don't matter. Good for Steph, 47 points is great; Golden State is down 2-1. If they lose the Finals nobody's gonna be talking about a killer Steph game. They're gonna be talking about Kawhi, Gasol, Spicy P and how the Raptors made Canada a basketball country.
SAYING CURRY'S 47 POINTS AND NEAR TRIPLE DOUBLE IS MEANINGLESS IS THE SAME AS SAYING LEBRON'S STATS ARE MEANINGLESS IN THE YEARS HIS TEAM DIDN'T WIN THE FINALS
When LeBron score 51 and lose. "He is the best on the planet". When Curry score 47 and lose. "Its nothing.. its meaningless.." BTW lebron got swept by a team that lost TWICE to the Clippers and GSW had Steph, KD, Klay , Green healthy. Lebron is the most overrated player on the planet. Curry is one of the most underrated players in the league.
I agree with the first part, but not the LeBron thing. Both the 51 and 47 point games show two phenomenal generational talents. If Curry was 6"8 plus, he might be the GOAT.
Perk is also so great when he is on these types of shows and although he could knock out any of those who are notorious for cutting people off, interrupting and yelling, he keeps his cool and makes his point the way he wants to, and as a former player who knows the ins and outs of the game and of the business of basketball, he brings a lot of great insights and analyses. And he doesn't take any mess from Whitlock when he is on his show, either. Perk is the real deal.
Perk was 10000% right when he was talking about why Kawhi should stay in Toronto. It's one of the biggest NBA markets, amazing front office, great teammates, an unbelievable fanbase, and oh yeah how about an extra $50 million. Crazy not to stay
They were meaningless. They never even came within 7 points after the first half. Bron scored 51 last year in the finals and lost but his points had more meaning because he took them to OT. He was the reason the game was close.
Durant, Klay and Looney all out? I'm not sure any team overcomes that. I still can't understand the physics behind that collision between Kawhi and Kevin Looney. Looney literally went flying. I know Leonard is a beast, but that was bizarre.
The 47 points weren't meaningless. Steph wasn't being a ball hog, he was playing within their offense and trying to get his teammates better shots when he was off ball. He didn't go iso crazy and throw away the game plan. The issues were the other Warriors weren't hitting their shots and they were spread too thin on defense with Klay and Looney out. Curry's offense was the only thing that was keeping them as close as they ever got, but he needed Draymond, Iggy, Boogie, or Cook to help him hit more shots, and they couldn't. But that being said, Warriors have no excuses. These injuries happen, and when you have a stacked top heavy team, you can get into a situation where you're down three starters and have to play with a weak bench. Steph and the Warriors gotta rise above it or let the Raptors get the rings.
What do you think about Steph Curry's Game 3 performance?
A+ effort but this is raptors in 5 if Klay doesn’t come back
3 word response... He needs klay

those "meaningless" 47 points kept Warriors close, but couldn't get closer than 7 points
Any team missing 2 stars would be in serious trouble. Iggy is injured. Looney is out. Of course Curry is more than ever the opponent's focal point, which makes it hard for him and would make it hard for anybody else.
GSW sans 2 stars makes them at worst, the same number as the Raptors 😂
always hated perk until he became a insightful analyst.
Will C hater
Why did you hate him? Did he do something to you?
@@tonim4a197 hated him as a player dirty. Not on our team, just like a lot of others who also dislike perkins.
@@willc5023 You need players like the Kendrick Perkins, Draymond Greens, Kyle Lowrys. They are bulldogs and they strengthen the mentality of your team. They also all happen to be VERY intelligent.
@@razatiger22 i agree but we didnt have any. If love them if they are on your team, you hate them if you dont. Perkins wasnt close to Draymond.
While I think the shove was not really that harmful, the key to this is that you have to get in front of this and set a precedent that contact will not be allowed. Otherwise you start a slippery slope that could end up with a Malice at the Palace Part 2 or even worse, a Monica Seles-type attack on a player.
Christopher Jackson the push was weak, delivered by a soft priveledged coward! He should be fined 10 million, paid to the charity of Lowry's choice and 20 million paid to a Lowry children's fund as a trust for Lowry's children! The energy from that push seemed very offensive bordering on racism! Lowry would never be the same again! Lowry thinks now that his team owners include racists
Steph is the only one that showed up. Unless they get major contributions from Boogie or Drae the Warriors are done. No Klay or KD apparently means no defense played by Golden State.
Great interview/conversation!
his voice is deeper than the warriors bench
Hal Johnson this is great LOL
🇨🇦 the best part is that Lowry didn't even land on the guy that pushed him, he was two seats over
Take a shot every time Perkins says "like".
The disrespect to Steph is unreal. 47 points meaningless? Laying out for the ball at the end of the game meaningless? Warriors gave up? BS
Blake West it was a great performance but it’s still meaningless if you don’t win
x Florio 15 years from now you’re not even going to remember steph dropped 47 if they lose this series
@@los4984 it'll be remembered if they win the series and it's a reason Steph gets Fmvps
camdon king it really won’t be remembered we’ll just remember he got finals mvp and thats if they win. Over the years stats dont get remembered accolades do
Curry did everything he could. He had a great game, but Toronto was on fire. No team could beat the game 3 Raptors.
Finally. American analysts that actually analyze.
a 'meaningless' performance that you are talking about non-stop, just like you bring up another 'forgettable' game by Lebron in Game 1 last year, just like MJs against the Celtics 86 was forgettable, Isiah's quarter against the Lakers, Dominique against Celtics 88... Oops, they seem quite memorable Colin, stop creating false 'natural' conceptions to boost your empty rhetoric
For some unknown reason I really enjoy listening to Kendrick Perkins....
He’s your dad
Uh oh the steph fans coming out...naw yall shut up perk keep it 100 dont switch up cuz he talkn bout our baby boi steph
Nah he don’t like Steph. Let that be lebron who dropped 47 8 and 7 and it’s meaningful now
@@bigmacncheez1775 It doesn't mean anything if you don't win. Your assumptions don't matter either.
PERK needs his OWN show
That's BS....IM A WARRIOR'S FAN .NO ONE SHOULD PUT THETE HANDS ON ANYONE!!!
OUTSIDE THE ARENA THAT'S ASSAULT!

Perk is brilliant! What an amazing student of the game and a class act!
'This is not a zoo. We're not animals' -Kendrick Perkins (2019)
I love Kendricks analogies and mindset. Intelligent and funny dude. Give that man a contract already!
Flight or Fear? I think it is fight or flight. or
@Ten 10 I said the same thing to myself 🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣
So what do you suggest? All your stars are injured instead of fighting this uphill battle
might as well just chill and take few days off ?
How does Perkins keep coming with outside the box perspective that I agree with
Give this man a show already!! He has personality..
You're great Kendrick. Now please go school Stephan Jackson because he thinks that even after how the first 3 games have played out the Warriors are winning in 6.
Perk speaks truth, straight up. Glad to see him in the NBA broadcasting game.
Uncle Perk repping the Raps hard, love it!
Steph did what he had to do to get the win, unfortunately his supporting cast didn’t get him enough help to get the win. Very similar to LeBron, but the difference is Steph’s supporting cast was expected to play better while we always knew LeBron’s Cavs overachieved last postseason because of him
Without the 47 it would have been one of the violent beatdowns in NBA Finals history.
And? You think the Warriors feel better because they didn't lose by a record amount of points?
It's hard to call 47 points meaningless, but it's true, as proven by game 4. Your star shooter runs himself ragged with zero interior depth from his bench, scores 47, loses the the game and two days later has to do it again. That 47 points cost them big in game 4, coupled with TO beast of a defense was lethal.
Obviously the injuries to KD, Klay and Kevon are really decimating the Warriors. I just read that KD is not playing in game 4. The weight on the Warriors is heavy.
'We as fans and as basketball gurus need to start respecting the Raptors.' Truth. Listen up, Stephen A.
James Harden scored 50-plus in a losing effort, same as Steph Curry's 47 points in a losing effort.
Nothing Steph did in game 3 was "meaningless"...it was the rest of team that was non-existent. Curry did everything in his power to get it close and his teammates blew layups consistently.
Toronto is an awesome place. Less stress and drama
Do people forget when Vince Carter was in Toronto he was a full blown A-List Celebrity
People keep comparing Canada to US.... guys California alone has a bigger population then Canada... he’s going to LA.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Perk a 6 foot 11 300 pound man who is somewhat into jiu jitsu...
Still dont why Drake would even think of stepping up lmao
Cause Drake can toss some cash Daniel Cormier's way and have him take care of his light work...
Love listening to Perk. Please bring him on more.
KAWHI LEONARD CAREER HIGH: 45
STEPH ON KAWHI’s HEAD LAST NIGHT: 47
Enough said.
Curry didn’t drop 47 on kawhis head
Kawhi didn’t guard steph once last night lol
Viral Snagz yes he did did you not watch the game ?
@@jasonc1448 I clearly remember him guarding Steph twice in the 3rd and he got put in the washing machine
@Tim Tom and Curry's done it to kawahi multiple time in the past as well. That's what happens with two great players
Perk hating on Steph lol 😂
Steph can go for a hundred or average a triple double in the finals and these fools will still be on lebron and Kawhi’s jock.
Also If Kerr plays steph on Lowry and let’s him be physical on d, they might have had a chance in game 3. The whole story tonight is different. Kerr needs to trust Steph on d.
Yeah with his glass ankles
What is your problem with Steph are you one of those haters two let me run this by you what if it was KD and Steph out would that be meaningless?
If you lose the game then your points don't matter. Good for Steph, 47 points is great; Golden State is down 2-1. If they lose the Finals nobody's gonna be talking about a killer Steph game. They're gonna be talking about Kawhi, Gasol, Spicy P and how the Raptors made Canada a basketball country.
No because kd wouldve won if he scored 47
Seven Grand Kd scored 51 against the Raptors this year and lost.......
"Its nothing.. its meaningless.."
BTW lebron got swept by a team that lost TWICE to the Clippers and GSW had Steph, KD, Klay , Green healthy. Lebron is the most overrated player on the planet. Curry is one of the most underrated players in the league.
I agree with the first part, but not the LeBron thing. Both the 51 and 47 point games show two phenomenal generational talents.
If Curry was 6"8 plus, he might be the GOAT.
Curry doesnt play defense. Thats why he can score 47 and his team still gets blown out
Kendrick Perkins is spot on about everything here
Perk is also so great when he is on these types of shows and although he could knock out any of those who are notorious for cutting people off, interrupting and yelling, he keeps his cool and makes his point the way he wants to, and as a former player who knows the ins and outs of the game and of the business of basketball, he brings a lot of great insights and analyses.
I gotta say Kendrick Perkins is a great basketball analyst . Really enjoy listening to him. I would have never guessed it .
They were meaningless. They never even came within 7 points after the first half. Bron scored 51 last year in the finals and lost but his points had more meaning because he took them to OT. He was the reason the game was close.
A guy that never scored 25 in a game calling steph 47 meaningless? Lol
They lost buddy, his points are meaningless
Steph and the Warriors gotta rise above it or let the Raptors get the rings.
dnt let this distract u from the fact that klay hurt himself trying to flop a foul
