      When you have a person who supposed to be an expert sports analyst and they actually say that a basketball player scoring 47 points is meaningless they're no expert...

    • @NYC1E1
      @NYC1E1 5 років тому +15

      @Ethan Benjamin Actually stats are recorded in NBA history whether or not you win or lose. You also can't have it both ways, if SC scores 20 points and they win you can't say 'Yeah they won but SC didn't play that well' to devalue him as a player. But when he scores 47 points/balls out you can't say 'Yeah he balled but they lost' to devalue him a player.

    People talk about Kawhi having a whole country behind him which is true, but the biggest reason he should stay in Toronto is because the Raptors are a good team. If he wants the best chance of winning a championship after this season in the next 4 years, the Clippers are not the answer. Raptors are one move in the offseason (a young elite scorer preferably) away from being phenomenal, and they already have a chance of winning the Chip right now.

      gp1497 both bron and curry performance individually were meaningless, we already knew the outcome, so their production wasn’t surprising, 2015 bron with no Kyrie and love wasn’t surprising, we knew bron was gone produce amazing numbers at the end and Warriors gone win, now Curry by himself without his splash bro klay and Durant injury with no other secondary scoring person, I never expected Curry alone to win this but we all expect him to put up a good fight and produce big numbers at this time, when I say meaningless, I don’t mean their performance was terrible but it just wasn’t enough to get a W

    Steph Curry's 47 didn't get them the win, but it gave them hope that he can produce in the finals which bolsters his teammates' confidence in him as a leader. If Steph's 47 points are meaningless because they ultimately lost, then every player on a losing team's points are meaningless and that's a ridiculous conclusion. Also, if you don't win games in the NBA, people still care about your stats. Otherwise, AI and Barkley wouldn't be Hall of Famers. People got love for McGrady, Grant Hill, and Vince Carter. No chips for those guys, but their stats are undeniable. These analyses from retired players or inexperienced commentators are getting increasingly and ironically meaningless.

  • @Turnerlb3
    @Turnerlb3 5 років тому

    The 47 points weren't meaningless. Steph wasn't being a ball hog, he was playing within their offense and trying to get his teammates better shots when he was off ball. He didn't go iso crazy and throw away the game plan. The issues were the other Warriors weren't hitting their shots and they were spread too thin on defense with Klay and Looney out. Curry's offense was the only thing that was keeping them as close as they ever got, but he needed Draymond, Iggy, Boogie, or Cook to help him hit more shots, and they couldn't.
    But that being said, Warriors have no excuses. These injuries happen, and when you have a stacked top heavy team, you can get into a situation where you're down three starters and have to play with a weak bench. Steph and the Warriors gotta rise above it or let the Raptors get the rings.
