Middle aged fans who have money for music and concert tickets. Her music will remain safe contemporary pop she won’t be stupid to abandon her fan base.
She doesn’t only have middle aged fans tho... I know people in all ages who loves her. From my cousine (9 years old), my neighbour (53 years old) to my grandma (76 years old)
I remember reading an article about Adele a few years ago which said that because she is appealing to older women that she outsells everyone. Older women are more likely to buy albums whereas younger people are less likely to buy albums.
Adele's appeal is the same as Barbara Streisand or Whitney Houston or Susan Boyle (yes, Susan Boyle moves units) or Mariah's biggest singles: People love adult contemporary ballads. They will never be trendy, but they will also never be obsolete. The trick is selling adult contempo that also is interesting/relatable to younger demographics and Adele and her team have found a consistent way to do it. (That's why Lewis Capaldi is successful atm and why Sam Smith was also in the past -- I think he needs to return to that sound if he wants to repeat his past success.)
Yes Susan (discovered in May 2009) outsold Lady Gaga worldwide in 2009 and almost in 2010 again with her albums despite that were Gaga‘s biggest years. In the end you need the voice for them and that is a fift from god. Now you need a high profile composer team to create the right music and BOOM!
Yeah the Whitney Houston comparison is especially true, a lot of people clowned her for singing middle of the road “elevator music” but it sold tens of millions of albums. And whenever she changed her sound to be more trendy the records would underperform. Adele should stick to her formula for as long as she can
I believe I was 11 years old when rolling in the deep came on the radio for the first time ever I have been a fan of Adele every since her songs have saved me in so many ways and each song is made with love and that’s what I love about her I would hope to meet her one day
Adele can still absolutely sell as much. She just has to get more creative in terms of how she is going to put it out into the world because of the streaming era, although I'm sure she won't fail at that considering what she's done for her past era's.
Agreed! I would say the most obvious is to keep any future release of streaming services, but offer a true incentive to actually go buy a physical copy from a store.

@@mauiemsi6812 true, Adele defines that no matter what size your body is, if you have good facial features, ur not less pretty than skinnier people. In fact, I think she looks so pretty back in 25 era when she was quote unquote fat - which she wasnt.
@@Hiiiiiiiiieeee She's, and i love her music but she could make more adventurous music you know. Look at Madonna, she makes something different with every album, and she doesn't have half the voice Adele has.
she doesn't flop because she's a sweet, relatable white british girl who sings with so much soul you don't even have to be in a relationship to feel everything 💚
I would add that, I just feel like people see in her what they saw in the voice and the style of the vocal trinity when it was in its prime: Celine, Mariah, Whitney. They miss that era of music and Adele is kinda like a comeback to it while still modern. At least that's how I see it. Although 2 of them are still alive, ageism is kinda hurting them bad but Adele is younger.
Agreed I noticed after Adele success with 21 more contemporary pop vocalists became more prominent, Beyoncé said she was inspired by Adele music to incorporate the live vocal range she displayed on stage but not records for her 4 album,
Ageism is more so, not exactly because of their age. Look, when I was 12 I didn't give a shit that Cher was like 45 or something when Believe came out and topped the charts. It's just that creative output takes a lot of energy and perhaps the older artists have said what they felt they need, put out what they think they needed over two decades+, they are good now and don't want to enter that race for the top anymore. It's exhausting stuff for anyone.
She reminds me so much of Celine Dion. Looks and dresses older than she is, sings love songs/break up songs, great voice, married a much older man, audience skews older, accompanied with huge record sales.
Adele's success is mostly due to her being an artist that puts the focus in the music, and her timeless output harkens back to simpler times, specifically that bygone 90's divas era, making her equally nostalgic yet modern at the same time thanks to her classic, timeless-sounding material.
She sings with her heart. Her songs really mean something important. They have soul and purpose. All her álbums show an artist true to herself and what she wants to sing. When i heard her songs they gave me chills, and they still do till this day. I Love and appreciate this type of music, i know that with her i will feel emotions. Sad, happy. I would also like to add that Adele’s fandom is not toxic unlike any other fandom there is. Let’s also recognize that she’s a writer not just a singer. It’s very easy to find someone who can sing, but to write and sing your own songs are a different level. This brings out her personality. Actually, experiencing her albums is like listening to a documentary of her life. Quality over quantity my dudes.
Adele is truly a gem. She’s an album diva, she’s aware that a big single is needed but all of the album is done with care. I think she will be massive, even if the sales decrease that only means her streaming number would be huge. Trust me she’s coming for another diamond.
I wonder how her new looks are going to affect sales and her perception by the public. Don't get me wrong, I love how she looks and that she looks happy and comfortable in her skin (which is what matters), but I mean that she is no longer the "average looking girl" with a powerhouse voice. Now she really looks like a "world pop star" so I don't know if that will make her lose her relatable vibe. There will be people who will be disappointed and feel she "sold herself and no longer relies on her talent alone", but I'm hoping she stays on top because her artistry deserves it.
Very interesting! I think we can only make any conclusions after she starts releasing music. Will she change her image? Her performances, her costuming, her music, etc. I don't see her straying from her usual looks that will make her bleed into a "normal pop star" type of look - if that makes sense. But, we'll just have to see!
Really love ur vidoes🥰 And Adele will probably sell 1 million plus copies in her first week due to her versatile fan base .I'm really missing her hope she drops music soon.
Adele's power is so untouchable and different than the others. Her audience is everybody. She touched every generations. I'm as a gen z really adore her 21 & 25 records. She's a pure selling artist, the only female artist who can compete with her today is just Taylor Swift.
Her consistency and elusiveness helped it. Like what the narrator pointed out, she never overstays her welcome and so, her image does not get oversaturated-- it keeps the people wanting for more.
Soul music is very personal which is why we love Adele and then she mixes it with modern sounds where it’s so familiar like a friend we knew so closely but are distant now, so we want to know her more. Then she doesn’t make the image about her but more about her music so you can’t attack her because she doesn’t herself a star but her music speak.
I saw. I mean, someone else dropping a record around the same time means one thing - they're dropping a record around the same time. End of story. Let's not get too crazy now 🤠
The fact that some people bash her because she still uses the same sound, genre, vibes, and concept over and over again. Like, can't an artist stick in one sound, genre, vibes, and concept throughout their discography?
Because she's not selling music using her physical appearance. She sells using her voice and musicality. And when u mix that with her personality that is crazy, real, authentic and sweet u hit the spot.
Exactly..It's hard to find singers like her nowdays who make timeless, classic and ballad songs. Not just her music, her voice is so unique and powerful, i never hear other singers who have a tone voice like her. And she can made ballad songs are popular again in 2010s
I agree. I have no doubt she'll easily sell more than 1,000,000 in the debut. "folklore" is the highest debut of 2020 with 846,000 units (615,000 pure sales). Given that being UP from "Lover". In 3 weeks, "folklore" sold 1,000,000 units. I would guess Adele could move a pure sales range of 900,000 - 1,500,000. I expect it to be down from "25", but I really couldn't gauge by how much.
What is this estimation coming from? Hopefully based on the lead single not being AS much of a hit, and not some arbitrary guess that because she's been around people aren't checking for her music as much .... which makes no sense.
i really want adele to take more risks with this new album. consistency is nice, but i want her personality to really shine through. some cocky lyrics, brash production, an overall different vibe! whether its good or not, it would be nice to know adele isn't just going to play safe.
Oooh, that would be neat! I this it's interesting her general consistency has been proven to work time and time again. So it would be so interesting to see how a "risk" would change things for her, if at all.
No, she wants the 40+ of age crowd to pick up her new records. Safe produced ballads about love and break up by high profile composers with her voice in the middle of everyting.
Thank you for this video. People seem to not realize how amazingly 21 shifted the musical landscape. Before 21 the billboard charts was full of auto tuned vocal electro pop bangers with the artists following it with outrageous visuals, fashion style and overall persona primarily thanks to lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kesha, however, that changed with 21 electro pop was still present on the billboard charts but it changed post-2011 with more alternative, indie pop music and less auto tuned/more raw powerful vocals. You can say it foreshadowed the breakthrough success Lana Del Rey, frank ocean and Ed Sheeran experiences in 2012-2013. And then you got 25 that happened when streaming was taking and still took over the music industry but following Taylor swift’s 1989, Nicki minaj’s the pink print and Beyoncé’s 2013 self titled release, 25 was merging physical releases/sales being able to gasp with streaming and digital downloading. I personally love Adele, she’s one of the best vocalists/songwriters in contemporary pop music her music is amazing and changed the scope to the culture. Personally favorite Adele tracks Rolling in the deep Right as rain Chasing pavement Send my love Water under the bridge A million years ago Hello Set fire to the rain One and only Rumor has it He won’t go Don’t remember me
Very true! I think we could even say Adele is an "anti-pop star". She isn't down with colorful wigs or bizarre videos or super insane touring set pieces. I think the fact her career has been so down to earth has helped her define a different version of what it means to not only be popular in music, but a popular woman in music. She very much is one of a kind.
@IMOGEN RUSSELL I don’t think so even doe I believe bionic was underrated it still was in the electro pop sound/climate as Gaga, Katy, Kesha and Rihanna were doing, what Adele was not even a 180 but a 360 to what was happening in pop music at the time
@IMOGEN RUSSELL Very neat point about Christina. I would argue that she only got hate for "Bionic" b/c of those silly comparisons to Gaga. Since electro pop was so trendy in the early 2010s, some even said Christina was chasing the sound rather than it being organic - which fueled even more comparisons. I think a lot of that is very unjust, though. Christina didn't deserve that one bit.
@@popdissected4400 agreed I blame Perez Hilton for it he had this whole campaign against her it’s crazy to think the influence Perez had on the internet
@@Kevin-rg3yc I mean, Christina will always have an impact in this industry, but Perez is one, if not the primary reason her career changed after "Bionic".
Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain is one of the background songs in one of my family’s photo DVD’s from the 2010’s. That’s saying a lot because my family is Cuban and we didn’t even know what the song was about, but her music made its way into our country and we fell in love with her, not even knowing what she was saying. Now I speak English and cannot wait to experience the debut of her new album 😍
Older supporters die, older supporters stop updating their music collection, younger crowds support their generations artists and current trends. That means that even Adele has to flop at some day in the future.
Well, while I agree, I think Adele very much can transcend many generations. Her next record will be the ultimate test of time, over 10 years into her career, if she can still span multiple generations.
Because she releases good music and has a good voice, she also is not fame hungry she is in it for the music only she is not a product like most celebrities make themselves. She releases her album, goes on tour then dissappears to live her private life and comes back when she has a new album done. Hollywood isnt her life. This makes her genuine and normal, more approachable so we feel more connection towards her.

Why he have to postpone? He has his own fans. I mean if the album is good, I'm sure it'll debut no#1. I'm a fan of Panic! At The Disco, remember when Panic! got their first no. #1 album in early 2016, pushed back Adele 25 and David Bowie to number #2 and #3, while Dangerous Woman by Ariana failed to debut no#1, it's blocked by Views (Drake). If the album is good, the fans will buy it, no matter how big or small your subscriber.
i love Adele’s music and most of her songs are about love and heartbreak, which i do enjoy. i want to see happy more upbeat Adele songs. it would be a nice fresh start/sound and it would show more versatility in Adele’s discography ❤️!
She takes time to release albums. By the time the album drops, fans have already craved so much hence the sales are huge. Excited for her new era especially with her new look. Looking fit and happier.
Can you do a video on how Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is so iconic that she has not ever released another album but maintains the position of of the greatest r&b albums/singers of all time?
I do think she'll need to do something just a little bit different for this album. Still have some ballads, but maybe have more upbeat songs (even if not in the style of production). She even said she's not going to name this album after her age. So, it could be something much different. Still, it's Adele, and it's highly likely that it'll succeed.
The iconic voice, artistic credibility, relatability, down-to-earth nature, comic sensibilities, predictable yet surprising... this is such a winning combination.
The fact that she does NOT adorse any product with her name on them speaks volumes already. She's a artist/musician, not a product pusher. Like we can support our fave artist by buying their merchandises, but you can only buy Adele's Album/Singles/concert tickets. This make her a cherish 'commodity' so very one of a kind.
I think her next era is gonna be more pop. 25 is definitely more pop than 21. In 25, she worked with Max Martin and Shellback (I think) and they are the biggest pop producers of our generation. I think this next album will be more pop, but she will obviously maintain her old sound. I don’t think you can say “omg I want the old Adele”. Like I feel like she has been very consistent with her style. Idk. I also really want Rihanna. I think they are in the same boat. They are both very anticipated.
I'd love to see more pop influences in her music. I'm very hype to see her signature sound that leans more into the pop genre, because to imagine Adele singing a more "modern" pop song would be very neat.

Middle aged fans who have money for music and concert tickets. Her music will remain safe contemporary pop she won’t be stupid to abandon her fan base.
Yup!!
She doesn’t only have middle aged fans tho... I know people in all ages who loves her. From my cousine (9 years old), my neighbour (53 years old) to my grandma (76 years old)
why people keep saying middle aged fans, she has a lote of young fans like me lol, and why are other atists who have middle aged fans are flopping?
Narrow minded take.
She found a genuine audience that backs her up
Very true. Not many artists can say their fanbase is well...everyone.
I remember reading an article about Adele a few years ago which said that because she is appealing to older women that she outsells everyone. Older women are more likely to buy albums whereas younger people are less likely to buy albums.
Ah yes, very true!!
That could be true, yes
Adele's appeal is the same as Barbara Streisand or Whitney Houston or Susan Boyle (yes, Susan Boyle moves units) or Mariah's biggest singles: People love adult contemporary ballads. They will never be trendy, but they will also never be obsolete. The trick is selling adult contempo that also is interesting/relatable to younger demographics and Adele and her team have found a consistent way to do it. (That's why Lewis Capaldi is successful atm and why Sam Smith was also in the past -- I think he needs to return to that sound if he wants to repeat his past success.)
Very good points, especially what you touched on at the end!
Straight up facts
Yes Susan (discovered in May 2009) outsold Lady Gaga worldwide in 2009 and almost in 2010 again with her albums despite that were Gaga‘s biggest years. In the end you need the voice for them and that is a fift from god. Now you need a high profile composer team to create the right music and BOOM!
Yeah the Whitney Houston comparison is especially true, a lot of people clowned her for singing middle of the road “elevator music” but it sold tens of millions of albums. And whenever she changed her sound to be more trendy the records would underperform. Adele should stick to her formula for as long as she can
@@bryanalstoncoxing don't forget about Celine, she's the best at it!

Oooh, very nice point!
Agreed I noticed after Adele success with 21 more contemporary pop vocalists became more prominent, Beyoncé said she was inspired by Adele music to incorporate the live vocal range she displayed on stage but not records for her 4 album,
@@Kevin-rg3yc I read that as well! I wish I knew that for when I made my video on Beyoncé's "4". I found that interesting!
You cannot compare her to Whitney, Mariah or Celine.
So true!
Adele's success is mostly due to her being an artist that puts the focus in the music, and her timeless output harkens back to simpler times, specifically that bygone 90's divas era, making her equally nostalgic yet modern at the same time thanks to her classic, timeless-sounding material.
Absolutely!
She sings with her heart. Her songs really mean something important. They have soul and purpose.
All her álbums show an artist true to herself and what she wants to sing. When i heard her songs they gave me chills, and they still do till this day. I Love and appreciate this type of music, i know that with her i will feel emotions. Sad, happy. But they make you feel.

Adele is truly a gem. She’s an album diva, she’s aware that a big single is needed but all of the album is done with care. I think she will be massive, even if the sales decrease that only means her streaming number would be huge. Trust me she’s coming for another diamond.
I totally agree. Seen a few comments suggesting her time has come and gone. 😳 Highly doubt that.
She's very relatable. Her music speaks to your heart and soul. She keeps it real with her songs
For sure!
Omg I’m so excited to see what her next release will be like and what her image would be
Adele is not only as a musician, but also as a person very likable and does not follow trend, the reason for her success is her uniqueness.

That's so true. Her and Taylor are really in their own league to be honest.
Her consistency and elusiveness helped it. Like what the narrator pointed out, she never overstays her welcome and so, her image does not get oversaturated-- it keeps the people wanting for more.
she never flops because she doesn't make music to cater towards teenagers, she makes music that caters to older audiences
Agreed! I think with that, it gives her a broader range to since she isn't just catering towards teens or young adults.
Just like Lorde, she takes time for her work, no matter how long, until she is satisfied with the result
I totally agree! Definitely quality over quantity!
She is TRUE to herself, her fanbase and to her music. She doesn't fake that's what I really respect about her.
Absolutely!
She's one of the greatest artists of the last few decades.
She's just so genuine.
Exactly!!
Stan twitter really thought Adele was going to drop a new album and come for Ariana💀

Exactly..It's hard to find singers like her nowdays who make timeless, classic and ballad songs. Not just her music, her voice is so unique and powerful, i never hear other singers who have a tone voice like her. And she can made ballad songs are popular again in 2010s
I don’t think she’ll sell as much as she did before, but she’ll definitely sell.
@@popdissected4400 Adele will have huge sales .Trust me. India loves Adele .

I was waiting for this video. I love Adele and I'm waiting for her new album. She's a Queen!
Yesss!!

Older supporters die, older supporters stop updating their music collection, younger crowds support their generations artists and current trends. That means that even Adele has to flop at some day in the future.
Totally agree!
Bruno Mars actually postponed his comeback due to Ariana Grande and Adele returning this month. I love Ariana and I am an Arianator but Ariana has to really work her 4ss off, not to be successful but to try and chart while Adele is everywhere. I bet Scooter is having nightmares as of today lmao 😂

I do think she'll need to do something just a little bit different for this album. Still have some ballads, but maybe have more upbeat songs (even if not in the style of production). You and I both. I've already had a few videos not age well 😂 But if history has taught us anything as of now, Adele may just bee unstoppable.
I cant wait .
