Man I remember wanting this game to release in the US, so freaking badly. But it sadly never came. Would've loved to play that. But games like Super Robot Taisen: OG Saga and the Project X Zone made it here.

This really is an amazing game. There are numerous translation guides out there that, surprisingly, are very easy to follow. So you don't have to worry about not being able to read japanese. you'll quickly become accustomed to the menus and what they do, so thats not a problem either. I'd definitely recommend picking this game up if you can. Good story, great characters, incredibly fun and addicting gameplay.
this is like super robot taisen or any kind of turn based strategy like fire emblem, except that you have a "tales of" fighting style where you mash/tap buttons for massive combos. as for the combos (multiple assault), no button tapping is necessary and you can just watch your two/three characters do some major area damage.
I have a copy of this game that I bought at last years Anime convention. Being a fan of Namco and Capcom, it's great fanservice. While it's not THE best game out there, it's worth trying out. From everything I've heard, it won't make a US release. Some characters aren't known that well in the US or just never got released.
I'm glad that Mitsurugi made it into this game, and he even got to keep his great theme song from SCII (too bad Ivy and Cervantes didn't come along, too). But who are Mitsurugi's two teammates in this video?
And am I the only one who thinks Sylphie is too cute for words? I'd like to get this game just to watch her kooky combos and counters (mostly borrowed from other Capcom characters, of course; I think she even has Black Tiger's morningstar as one of her attacks). :-)
The patch is in beta stages. I'm not sure about the X button commands since I haven't tried it, but they mentioned that they had to remove the subtitles from the intro due to audio problems, so I assume it's the same with battles.

But I'd still favor the Darkstalkers and Forgotten Worlds characters, of course. I had some pretty good times with them in the past. ;-)
@ResidentFortress2 I agree, but it's still a lot better than nothing. There's always the alternative method of looking up a script translation and having to reference that as you play the game. Still, there's a part in the translation where one option overlaps into both dialogue selection boxes, and another where all the choices are blank. I thought it was pretty funny.

@Colddirector there is a version in snesorama that is at 95% if i remember well, i have it and its pretty good, some glitches can be found but nothing that can spoil your gameplay. The ending is translated too, some symbols are still in japanese thats why the 95%..
Wow the last two dude was on forgotten worlds. first stage as i recall. that game was great. Capcom need to add them on marvel vs capcom or tatsunoko vs capcom series.
Yeah its totally worth it for I got it a couple of days ago, well a little disappointed that they took out the singing part during the opening. But its quite similar to NxC.
maybe so...but considering the work it'd take to make a game using all those characters and everything it would probably take more work and money to make than most other games and even with the FF characters i still don't think it'd sell well enough
Well theres gonna be a game thats similar to NxC, and it used to be in JP but now theres gonna be in ENG. But some characters from this arent gonna make a comeback, like Bruce, Fa ling, and that chick from Dino Crisis.

The game was actually rumored to be coming, but Namco had the rights to publish it and decided not to because they thought the characters were too obscure. Which is BS since at least half of the characters in the game are well known.
obviously acetpg never heard of the successful Super Robot Wars series in japan that has been goign for almost 2 decades now in which this game derives many elements from which worked so far and still coming out with new ones like...every other year lol. As for this game it's no different. Although it's medicore compared to Super Robot Wars :/

The game is called Namco X (read as "cross") Capcom for the Japanese PS2. It's a slight bit old since it was released in May '05.

The guy from Dig Dug is known as Taizo Hori, who is also the father of Susumu Hori, the main character of the Mr. Driller series.

If this game will be patched, I hope the guys working on this would throw in at least subtitles during the Multiple Assult and "X" button commands.
It takes more than a few people on some forums to pay for a game that takes that much work i think they'd lose money on it if they did make it
