Back when you could spontaneously walk into a random movie and be totally blown away.

Perhaps one of my favorite all-around movie scores. This work of Hans Zimmer I believe is underrated. Just listening to the melodies throws one right back into the film.

6:35 this part is just pure catharsis, it's unbelievable how moving it is as the tempo slows down and those piano keys go call and response with the French horns. You don't even need to watch the film to feel the character change happening on screen as Melvin steps on the bricks and complete his transformation (well, as good as it gets for him, anyway). One of the best ending scores ever for me. Pure genius, could listen to this piece forever.

This is a splendid movie... far and above the best American romance film ever created. This ridiculously beautiful soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is as much a credit to this movie's success as the film itself. Exceptional moviemaking, the likes of which we will never witness again in our times.

you know, i've watched a lot of romance movies and some of them were amazing (an affair to remember, great expectations, sleepless in Seattle, conspiracy theory, when harry met sally just to name a few classics) and i didn't think of this movie as a romance because it's so well rooted as a serious comedy movie that even though there's romance, it's not entirely in your face all the time. but i agree, it's one of the greatest romantic comedies to have ever come out and probably will never see anything like it again. this is one of my most favorite movies of all time. the weirdest part about it is that i always get sad at the end because they spend so much time away from one another that i wanted to see them spend more time together, but the movie only allows a minute or so of when they finally kiss...it makes me cry that they finally begin their journey and their love and then the movie ends. i remember as a 17 year old just fantasizing and imagining what they'd be doing in that restaurant and things they'd say to one another and how they'd spend time together laughing and carol with her witty remarks and him with his brilliant writing. i think the saddest part about it is that we're just left with the beginning of a romance that you'd never witnessed in a movie only to end within a minute, the rest left up to your imagination. where are they now? what are they doing now? yes it's a movie and it was fake and they were just actors but they were real to me and they live on to this day and each time I watch this movie.

Wonderful movie.Just watched it during the covid 19 lockdown. All I can remember is Helen hunt crying in the kitchen with her mother. And then the music starts and takes the scene to a next level. 0:00-0:50 just feel like staring into deep horizon.

I was just a kid that goes to see movies after school when I first saw this.. At the time I thought it was pleasant, with a lot of great lines of dialogue. Now that I'm older and I've grown with this film....easily one of my favorite films of all time. I think it sums up love best when Melvin tells Carol "You make me want to be a better man." And the speech at the end, ...Carol was dismissing him, she thought he only had a crush on her and his feelings were possibly misplaced...she was mistaken... "and the fact that I get that, makes me feel good....about me. " 💚
