I had an exam at 2:00 am at Night. I just Registered 24 hours before .. Just passed Azure Fundamental. I Will definalely follow your approach for Az-204
Thanks for this video Caroline. You have convinced me to not go anywhere near the Devops path! I have done AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-303 - I want to get AZ-304 before the June 2 year expiration change. If I am still motivated I may do the AZ-500 but then I will call it a day. I don't currently support developers - and its easy for me to become obsessed with certification. As I had AZ-104 I was tempted to do AZ-400 anyway - but hearing you list off the AZ-204 skills measured I was like "erm, no I will quit those thoughts and stick with architect/admin centric certification"
@@carolinechiari Cheers Caroline - If I change my mind and have a crack at it I will be sure to let you know. Good luck with your next exam, whichever that may be!
@@carolinechiari Hey Caroline - got the AZ-304 today (third attempt - got 807!). I got a voucher for AZ-700 beta so booked that for August as it only cost me £27, then I will do the AZ-500 and then rest! :)
Did you pass that round, right after failing the practice exams (Udemy's set of 6 exams?)? Or passed later? I plan to buy the exams package with a test, a retry and a real Microsoft practice exam for around $260.
Correct, I think. They’re both very different and very similar in content. I don’t think the order of these two matters at all. Taking one (either one) first makes the other one easier because of the overlap.
Congrats! I'm looking to learn and obtain the Azure Developer certification too! I've been an Azure hobbyist for like 8 years now so I might already know the bulk of it.
I wouldn't rely on the practice exams being similar to the real one. I took practice exams and the real was a different monster. That said I should add it wasn't for the AZ-204.
The one I took was similar and some questions almost the same. That being said, I agree. Your performance on a practice exam isn’t necessarily a reflection of how you will do on the real exam. I think the ones from Microsoft or Microsoft approved ones would be similar, but that’s expensive.
thanks for your video, I found it very informative. I passed the AZ-104 in December but I'm being primed for a role in Azure Devops in my company. I think Az-204 is more in line with Azure Devops right?. I'm kind of in 2 minds whether to pursue the AZ-204 cert or just do loads of hands on on top of my AZ-104 knowledge. Also, I noticed that your certification is about to expire on the 5th of March 2022, how do you go about renewing it?
Honestly DevOps = dev+ops, so they’re both in line. I think both are very useful for devops. If you have development experience, 204 is not too bad. Please don’t scare me like that! It’s up for renewal in 2023 (Microsoft lower the length of validity of certifications from 2 years to 1 year in June 2021). I’ll let you know when I do though.
Thank you for sharing your experience of the exam. Could you please help me with how to practice lab as azure portal is for one month and I can read/practice only in week ends.
1) Use azure pricing calculator to practice the more expensive resources first. 2) The costs of working in Azure is very affordable for this. If you're worried about spending too much, set a budget so you get notified when you go over. My personal Azure bill is under 5USD/month
You’re welcome! There are no prerequisite for the exam, this is an “entry-level” exam. True entry level would be AZ900, but this one a little more advanced/specialized.
Hi thanks for this again I would need your advice on this one... Like I have 2 years of service desk experience and just done with az 900 should I go with az 104 as I don't have any experience in cloud will it do any good
Sorry, I thought I responded :( Yes, I would recommend AZ104, I think it’s a good certification to have and shows more commitment and advanced knowledge.
I felt the same for AZ-900 exam i scheduled my exam 48 hr before i am extremely scared to because its my first microsoft exam and today in first try i pass that exam now i am preparing for AZ-204.
Kind of the same situation here -- I am able to easily pass Scott Duffy's practice test after watching his Video course on az-204 in Udemy a couple times. But I am not able to pass any one of the 6 practice tests, especially #4. Is Scott's way to easy? Or the 6 sets are way to hard, compared to the real test? (I get 50-60%) Am I ready?
In all honesty, it's hard to tell. I think I mentioned in the video (haven't watched it in month) that I got bad grades on the practice tests and ended up passing.I would say practice with actual coding and get familiar with SDKs or create some sort of dummy application using all the services in the exam.
Thanks so much for sharing your journey on az-204. I'm preparing it for the next weeks and wondering when youre supposed to choose the programming language of preference for the exam(between c# or python). Is it in the booking period or in the exam beginnings? Does it really matter at all for the exam itself? Thanks so much for any guidance here. Your channel rocks!!
Thank you for this! It's boosted my confidence and given me a good overall picture of AZ 204 certification. My employer has asked me to get AZ 204 this year. I got AZ 900 a few months ago.
No, that is not true. You can choose the programming language, either C#, JavaScript or Python. And it’s more about knowing order of operations with the azure libraries than the language itself
Well done to you, very informative and motivating!!! Just a quick question. Did you also get case study examples in the practice exams you purchased with udemy?
Thank you! Yes, I did have case studies in there. They didn’t work the same way as the exam (each question had the whole case study, as opposed to one “case study reference” in the case of the actual exam) but they were in there.
