I love Universal Clipboard. It's one of the many reasons I love the Apple ecosystem. I remember needing a video intro with transitions I made on Final Cut Pro but it was on my iMac in the living room, so I copied it and went into my bedroom, opened Final Cut Pro from my M1 Mac mini and pasted it. Absolute lifesaver! I love it.
Another one of those great ecosystem goodies. I haven't used it that much, but it sure was handy when I did. Thank you Gary for all the time and effort you put into making all these helpful tips.
If the Macs are close to each other, another interesting way to share selections and files is with Universal Control, which allows you to share both mouse and keyboard between two Macs, and drag-and-drop files and selections just as if you were using a single computer. It's a brilliant feature that few people I speak to seem to know about. I routinely have my MacBook Air next to my iMac, where I can drag files and selections between them, all using a single mouse and keyboard (or the built-in trackpad and keyboard on the Air-both are usable). It can be very helpful.
Cheers Gary, I've learned so much from you. To give an answer to your hope if I found your video(s) useful, here is the answer 👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍⭐👍 & by the way, this goes for all of your videos !!!!
No. This only works if the devices are being used by the same person (logged into the same Apple ID). The feature you want is almost as easy though: AirDrop.
What are you trying to do? You wouldn't normally connect an iPhone to a Mac via Bluetooth. You don't do that for this feature, if that is what you are trying to do. You simply need to have Bluetooth turned "on." But don't try to connect to anything.
I suppose this might come in handy in the future, but since i only have one mac right now (a 13 inch M2 MacBook Pro), and my iPad and iPhone don’t get used for anything other than general web browsing (and watching youtube videos), this feature isn’t one that i am likely to use for the time being And even then, since 99% of my files are stored on a Windows PC, i will likely end up having to use USB drives for moving files around regardless (and the USB HDD that i use to back up the files on that PC cannot be read by a Mac because it is formatted as NTFS)
It’s yet another of the features I seldom use so forget about it. Your video has been the equivalent of a tap on the shoulder to say “Hey, why not use this more often.”
@@johnnypuperze7790 But if you want to use Continuity/Handoff features like this, then Bluetooth IS necessary. Bluetooth is part of how this works. What's the harm in having Bluetooth on? Any Mac user with an Apple mouse, trackpad or Keyboard has Bluetooth on just for those alone.

thanks for this content, master piece and simplicity in one.

I love this feature and have been using this extensively since I switched to the ecosystem.
can’t live without it!!!
A very useful and informative video tutorial today! Thank you, Gary! 👏🏻❤️
Couldn't figure out why mine wasn't working - found handoff turned off on my iphone - not sure why. Glad to have this running, thanks!
Very Useful Gary , thank you very much for your time and knowledge

@@macmost Haha of course you do. Probably where I learned it in the first place!
Thank you so much, it works perfectly
Once again - thanks, Gary! Another feature I never knew about - or forgot! - but so useful!!!
Thanks very much, Gary! Very helpful refresher video for pasting between Apple devices.
Wow this is very useful. Thank you so much GREAT tip.
Thanks
Wow you are the best, this was very useful thanks 👍👍👍
thank you for this, i had been using cloud clip which doesn't allow you to do photos so this is even better!
Thank you! My Universal Clipboard stop working and I haven’t been able to fix it after doing everything I could. do you have any suggestions?
Check all of your settings like Bluetooth on both devices. Try restarts. Call Apple Support.

I may have missed it but can I share something to my brother's Mac, for example. Does it work that way?
No. This only works if the devices are being used by the same person (logged into the same Apple ID). The feature you want is almost as easy though: AirDrop.
Thanks, it is a great trick, surprised me, I moved from windows in each day learn a new option
Weird, I can copy from my iphone and paste on Mac, not the other way around. Anyone having this issue?
Me too
Thanks bunches
Can you help me!?
I want to paste file in usr/lib but i can’t paste as it shows I’m not having proper access/permission
You shouldn't need to do that. That's why the permissions are set that way. What are you trying to do, exactly?
Have you connected 2 Macs to 1 Screen or is this a video editing effect?
I'm just showing two screens from two different Macs here in my video.
My iphone will not connect to Mac Mini via Bluetooth . "Mac Mini is not supported"

@@macmost You are right, it works. I don't need the Bluetooth connection to work

If I’m first, do I get one of your old Mac’s? 🤣
sticker, but you have to print it yourself
I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy made MacOS himself
FYI: Not gonna work if you don't singin into both devices with same apple id.
mac needs to allow you to copy multple text off the internet and automatically attach it to the clipboard. android does it and microsoft does it.

I am able to copy clipboard from MacBook to iPhone but not the other way around.
A week ago it worked both ways.
Oh it worked but it connected late.
🙏
"easily" :D most of the time this doesn't work.
For most people it should work all the time. You may want to try to get to the bottom of it if it isn't working for you "most of the time."
@@johnnypuperze7790 Yes, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi must be enabled for these features to work. Why do you have Bluetooth disabled at all?
