He was among some of the players I really hoped who would have a great United career. Other players who didn't make it were Kagawa, Mkitaryan, Obertan, Alan Smith, Valera. Garnacho kinda looks to be about in the same bracket as some of these players although currently the fans back him a lot compared to some of the above players.
Garnacho has more to his game and is progressing whereas adnan fell off. He plays with more intensity and tracks his defenders and is dangerous on both sides. Adnan had less power and pace

If Pep or Sir Alex himself nurtured this boy he would have been a great success at United! Sir Alex would have made him and Zaha a beast for United, great successors for Giggs and Nani!
People always talk about Ravel Morrison or Macheda but these two did nothing in their career apart from playing for United, the rest of their career was spent in low division leagues. While Zaha continuously became a decent player at PL for Crystal and Januzaj is continuously a decent player at La Liga for Real Sociedad.
We can still see glimpses and even their talent from the two , but the players like Macheda and Morrison vanished in the lower divisions

He needed the team to have structure and guile, alas...he was surrounded by fading stars and deluded coaches
Januzaj was just unlucky...needed a better manager
He could dribble, take on players, pass and through balls, cross and he could shoot. None of which Anthony and moat of our now players can do. 😢

Greenwood started having issues and his performance took a dive after elevating to the number 11.
Rashford should have stuck to the number 49.
See Foden and Trent-Arnold. They still dorn their original numbers and still Fantastic players.
