I can really relate to Peter... the guy represents the average joe so well, and he continues to venture forth into topics and ideas that are HUGE, with MASSIVE theoretical implications, and yet he pulls down to earth for us the most important threads so everyday people can have the ability to reliably sink their teeth into these concepts. Bravo, it's not easy sitting next to Lyn our beautiful queen whose prbly got an IQ of 185, while also sitting next to Danny who while being the best friend you could ever ask for is also a 5th dimensional being who manipulates time, space, and light in order to physically manifest being in the room which is how he gets us to believe he actually exists.... Love the way Lyn introduces the gold coin as a slight-of-hand to then go back and address the question around BTC scaling and sovereignty using the analogy of perfect circles (like the gold coin) to describe even in gold history how sovereignty exists in theory, but in practice it's never been perfect. I dont believe it will be with BTC either. She gives a solid challenge to Carvalos more defined black and white view of sovereignty in BTC. I'd love to see john and lyn discuss this together. I respect them both immensely. I'd love to learn more

Loved seeing Peter geek out over the gold coin. I appreciate the more optimistic takes on scalability tradeoffs after listening to the ep with John/Giacomo/Matt (which was also a great conversation). I’m warming up to the idea of Bitcoin banks because of the transparency/audibility of the funds. In a free market custodians will compete on transparency and trustworthiness. They could have rules around what percentage of funds need to be reserved in deep cold storage with well distributed multisig keys - and of course the addresses are made public. But more realistically - for plebs - the current banks that exist today could in theory offer Bitcoin bank services and the majority of the public would continue to trust in them.

I must say I was surprised that Peter had no idea what an Oz coin was worth :) We do have quite a few Gold Bugs who started with Gold and then moved on to BTC. I was actually the opposite - was a hard core Buffet fan (still am) and started with BTC, and then it was BTC that turned me on to gold. I think its makes to sense to hold both (although I believe one should have far more BTC than gold given BTC''s many advantaged. But I can think of numerous examples and circumstances where BTC would be of no help, whereas Gold might be.

Right now the issue isnt just which currency to use, but where. If you see your country heading in that direction with bitcoin, you might want to see it as a sign that its fime to relocate where there is less government over-reach and greater freedom.
