Wish Cat would install a ladder to reach radiator fill caps. Wasn't fun dragging a ten foot step ladder hundreds of feet to one of the eight generator rooms. Temple hospital in Philly has a huge generator room with 10 double ended Cat GE restore ( 2 Diesel engines = 1 at each end of gen sets ).
cement manufacturing plant in Dixon Illinois had two of those generators for backup. Started them every couple of weeks for an hour or so. Radiators sat outside the building. Huge units.

I love diesels and I’m so grateful to Rudolf Diesel who invented diesel engines because without them industry and the world would come to a stop. There is way more energy locked up in diesels oil than in Gas/Petrol so anytime I see a big diesel it reminds me of the success of our species is down to machinery like diesel engines plus it’s so cool to see a big C175 V20 CAT start up and it’s sweet mechanical music to my ears.
Diesel has more C than H in their molecules, compared to gas, natural gas or LPG. C gives more energy while beeing oxidated, but leaves C0². H oxidates to H²O a.k.a. water/steam, wich is not a green house gas.
@@Stefan_Dahn True but LPG hasn’t taken off the way diesel has. It’s harder to refine, harder to store and transport and harder to manage and at the pump and not as safe as diesel. It consumes more power to refine it than fractional distillate crude oil into petrochemicals.
