Cross Creek Mall became Fayetteville’s largest indoor shopping center when it opened on February 25, 1975. Located off the All American Freeway. It opened with anchors Miller and Rhodes, JC Penney, Thalhimers (later Hecht’s and later Macy’s), Belk, Sears, Woolworth’s, Treasury Drugs and more than 250 stores and services that included a three screen movie theatre that opened later.
Awesome video! I never knew about this mall. Thank you again for everything you do! I loved how you walked right past security and they didn’t even notice. 😂 Thank you for bringing back the mad mad world outro too!
The mall itself looks alright, I was a little taken aback by the color scheme inside. Looks like they have a healthy lineup and I love the JCPenney architecture, it reminds me of both Rolling Acres and the former location at Puente Hills Mall (Twin Pines Mall from Back to the Future).
I wouldn’t say Fayetteville is this worst. I’ve been here since 2007, when my parents moved here from Virginia. I grew up on the outskirts of Fayetteville, and have been going to this mall for quite some time. Crime is a bit of an issue in Fayetteville, but other than that it’s just okay. Traffic can be horrible at times, but the people are decent. I’m a sucker for this mall, and I’m so happy someone finally did a video on it. I did one back in 2018, (the video has since been privated as the video was horrendous, I was young anyways lmao) but I have done some videos on some abandoned aspects of this mall. I did a video on the abandoned Sears before it was demolished also. If a store goes, another one comes in a flash. A lot of the vacancies in this video have since been filled, and I’d say the only closed down stores are a couple in the food court (the food court was actually a movie theater prior to 2002). Main event just opened around a month ago, and the mall is doing pretty well besides from the shooting a few months ago, which has happened before at this mall. Anyways, thanks for the video and keep it up!!!
My great grandmother was from Fayetteville, NC. To me, I think Fayetteville gets a bad rap from others online, unfortunately. Personally to me I don't mind Fayetteville, but to each their own. And if you think Fayetteville is bad for eastern NC, then he/she should research(or even visit) i.e. Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, etc. I could go on with more examples from eastern NC, but won't.
They’ve added a few restaurants and a Main Event in the parking lot in the last year. I haven’t checked it out yet but apparently it is part of”outlet “ type area in it now.
Hey, noticed you recorded the footage in April 2022, so things like the Candy Boat or the DLTR and the Diva Culture store are different, compared to today's Cross Creek Mall. For instance, the candy boat was bought and renovated, and is now owned by another owner. The DTLR now takes up 2 storefronts, and the Diva Culture across from it is now an empty storefront (atleast, the last time I saw it). Still loved the video!
The mix of stores in this mall reminded me a lot of the Oglethorpe Mall in Savannah, Ga, right down to the anchors. Someone in the comments said Cross Creek also got their food court in 2002, which would be another similarity lol. Oglethorpe may be just a little more interesting to walk around than this mall. Cross Creek is ok, but seems just a little bland. Either way, it's definitely strong for a solid mid-market mall.
I haven't been to Cross Creek in years since I moved to Fuquay. But, in the early 2000's up until 2014 it was a pretty good shopping mall. But its in Fayetteville and unless you live in or have business in Fayetteville. There is no reason to go there.
This mall is aesthetically okay with a 90s vibe, given the floors with the beige and greenish tiles! Two superficial comments: there was a sexy cowboy walking in front of you for a moment, and the jingle of the end covered your voice lol!
In answer to your question, it’s an Army town. Everything about it revolves around the base and supporting the families and enlisted men and officers. It’s a working class town.
This mall is far from my favourite but I don't hate it either. A ⛲would've been a good addition. The aesthetics are also not bad. I can still see this mall surviving or hanging on by a thread. Happy first day of fall everybody.
They used to have a fountain right at the intersect of all of the wings at the center, they removed it sometime in the early 2000s and I have no clue why
I REMEMBER EVERY YEAR GOING TWO CROSS CREEK MALL IN FAYETTEVILLE NORTH CAROLINA EVERY CHRISTMAS TI ME TWO SEE SANTA CLAUS AND SETTING ON HIS LAP AND TELLING SANTA WHAT I WANTED HIM TWO BRING ME FOR CHRISTMAS
These videos are a present every Friday. I made Mi Goreng Garlic and Black Pepper flavoured noodles to watch this video. Delicious. I highly recommend trying them. I also made a cup of hot cocoa since it's already starting to freeze up here in Canada.🍜☕🫖😊🧡💛❤
Fayetteville is tolerable but its not a good place to be. If your not in the military there is no reason to be here because the job market blows generally. Surrounding areas have more jobs that pay better.
@@WhittyPics There were actual discussions for an Apple Store several years ago in place of the old Sears, however they fell through and other development since took over Sears
I agree the mall is so so as far as decor. It’s quite packed with stores and many people. It reminds me of how malls used to be.

Doomie, that intro track was sick AF 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, I love all his introduction tracks that he plays. I love music.
Do an episode of the "Top Five Food Courts" of all the malls you have been to. Just for fun.
I'd LOVE to see such a video!
A beautiful place to be on a soon to be fall day in Fayettenam NC. Great mall. thanks for showing it to everyone.

I love this guy's channel. 😊Yes those two security guards weren't even looking his way.
Finally a successful mall with some color. I really like this one, the courts really stand out.
The mall itself looks alright, I was a little taken aback by the color scheme inside. Looks like they have a healthy lineup and I love the JCPenney architecture, it reminds me of both Rolling Acres and the former location at Puente Hills Mall (Twin Pines Mall from Back to the Future).
I felt the same way about the color scheme.....particularly the floor. It just turned me off. It looks a bit dated.

They need more things in the mall, especially in the food court. Build a level 2 with more stores

I could wander here for a while, thanks!
This is my mall, love it and Fayetteville too!
Fayettville is pretty cool actually, speaking from a locals perspective. Everyone is gonna say there area sucks simply because times suck here lately

It’s still in the 90’s in SC.

Is Fayetteville dangerous overall? TY
How were you still high when you told that other girl in jail that you like to take pictures on Instagram for fun. It's great for your mental health.
I think you're the one that's high.
Cute
1st.
It looks to be well occupied and a upscale mall? Looks like the kind of mall for an Apple Store?
Yes you are.😊💜
