Thank you once again for summarizing the updates. The "new" (not so new anymore) interface type with sections makes things so much easier. Nice improvement to the YAML editor indeed. Like most (I assume), if things are working fine and don't ask for changing I won't bother making huge changes. Recently however, a few Shelly 2.5 devices (older generation now I would say) have started to fail and I'm not even able to use them as regular buttons, which is pretty bad. Also fed up with the many singular integrations with Shelly within HA that appear as offline now, so I'll try the Kincony boards with ESP Home and give that a try. With that I'll also be installing a fresh new version of HA and add the needed integrations individually rather than the backup import. I feel I ended up with way too many nice integrations that I'm no longer needing since HA natively added them as core features. Cheers!
I'm liking Shelly less and less as time passes. I've never tried Kincony devices - are they any good? I should also probably start from the scratch on my system - too many things on it have been installed over time :D
@@BeardedTinker change is difficult and takes time, but it's enjoyable to have the excitement of fresh new installs once in a while. I got the kincony A16 for now in testing and I'm amazed how stable lan connection is on the esp32. I'm thinking about having a 6 wire alarm cable going to each switch socket where shelly was before and will store relays directly there. Depending on how each house is wired and flexibility, I'm becoming a bigger fan of wired solutions, even more of not having to deal with so many devices with a switch power supply that can go bad. A single 12v supply for all switches and relays would get the job done in my case. Pending the holiday season to get some free time to do the wiring
@@BeardedTinker I wasn't (and HA didn't tell me I had an update available). But I misunderstood what you said, I thought the heading card was old news and it became title/subtitle with 2024.10. Anyway, thanks for responding!
Released 9 seconds ago so figure it needs a first thumbs up👍 Bound to be good, watching now
:D It's not bad if I can say so myself :)
@@BeardedTinker 😂 always good! Liking the yaml changes, makes more sense. And the K10! Awesome
Matter is getting better :)

Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I upgraded to 2024.10 yesterday and my Home Assistant keeps rebooting about every 15 mins. It’s been rock solid for over 4-5 years.
Edit note: I downgraded Alexa Media Player one version and that seems to have fixed the rebooting issue. Whew, all better now.
Had the same problem, also downgraded AMP... Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
WooHoo! EmonCMS 👍
That's a good integration!!
Awesome! 🎉 I notice the map in the header of your dashboard. How can I do that?
That is standard map card, but I've just expanded it over 2 or 3 sections.
@@BeardedTinker great! Thanks for the explanation. Great job, nice content!
Thank you :)
Certains cards seem to be very slow to load via kiosk when I use sections. I like the concept, but will probably hold off before migrating.
A lot of cards need to be updated to support new formats - that's probably the case.
I don't have a heading or title card in my section dashboard
Are you running 2024.10 version of HA?

I'm sitll using the old dashboard because I'm too lazy to to it all over again :P
Maybe someday :P
No rush. If you wait just a bit more, there will be an auto-converter for it.
@@BeardedTinker You made My day!!, I hope it converts custom dashboards :P
Cheers my friend!
I think it will be able to do that. You'll still need to arrange them, but conversion should be automatic.
The yaml syntax changes give me a headache
Any specific reason? It's not mandatory to use it, you can use same as before.
