Mike, this is outstanding. I p500-ed it the day it was announced assuming this would be good based on 1) your work developing some of my favorite wargames and 2) my addiction to WWII sub games in general. I really like a lot of the other systems out there, but I was always looking for more decision-making and less "narrative by dice roll" in some of the tactical/operational games, and a lot more tactical detail in the some of the popular strategic/operational offerings. This looks like more than what I hoped for and I can already tell it's the sweet spot in decision-making I was hoping it would be. Terrific! Thanks so much for designing it and doing these previews.
Hints of Tank Duel and Skies Above the Reich, which is a good thing. I like the fog of war aspects and chit pull. In prototype it is looking amazing, looking forward to my P500 order even more. Thank you for putting the time in to stream it.
This was a day 1 P500 for me, but it is fantastic to see a detailed overview - and as others have said, I also really enjoyed Skies/Storm above the Reich and am glad to see more games inspired by that system.
Looks good. Traditionally, I'm not a fan of playing the German side, but this looks too good to pass up. I'm a fan of Skies Above Britain as well, so I'm very intrigued. Any chance we can get an updated video?
Mike, really excited to hear this was inspired by Skies Above the Reich - one of my favourite games. Really like the upgrading which reminds me of the Silent Hunter III renown system (the PC game that ignited my interest in Uboats). You'll likely cover it in another video but was curious - why the hex Uboat counters in a square grid/convoy instead of hex map? Looking forward to the next installment!
I just checked out your other videos what kind of sailboat do you have? I own a 26 foot Laguna Wind-rose (landlocked in Kansas). I think Wolfpack will fit on my galley table perfectly for those red at night sailer’s delight evenings. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to my copy
I don't own any right now but I used to do a lot of sailing and racing I've had bunch of boats, Hobie 16 and 18, Catalina 22, 25, 27, O'Day 25 and I've sailed on all kinds of boats up to 65 footers.
@@Hobiecat181 I don’t care what anybody says Hobie Cats are fun, too fast for daydreaming, however my cabin cruiser is just Fast enough to take second from last place at every race beating the judges boat back every time. I understand the life cycle of a sailer, I’m no spring chicken anymore but my children are old enough to manage most of the tasks on the boat so they bought my wife and I a few more years before they go to college. Anyways I was excited to see that you sailed, Which is definitely a small demographic in board gaming as you are the only person I have identified. I donated a bunch of board games tour sailboat clubhouse but no one ever plays them on foul weather days.
