Incomparable Superstar, Rajesh Khanna was the 70s' original King of Romance. One huge reason for Khanna's popularity was the chart buster music in his movies, specially kishore kumar voice and music of R D Burman did the magic in 70's.. Besides his charming personality, romantic gestures and enchanting smile, The actor won seven Best Actor Awards and received ten nominations.
In 1973, he won three Filmfare Best Actor Awards, one Filmfare Special Guest Actor Award , and also received a Filmfare Special Award in 1991, after twenty-five years in the Hindi film industry.
He received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award at the 50th anniversary Filmfare Awards ceremony in 2005. He also received the IIFA Lifetime Achievement award in 2009.

Rajesh Khanna is unparalleled. What a performance . No actor before and since had the impact on the audience. 17 super hits in a row. Movies became popular by word of mouth - there was no satellite TV , no OTT, no internet, no 24 hour TV, very limited marketing , hardly any magazines on films, 99% households did not have TV or telephones , very little publicity, no multiplexes , India’s population was 1/2 of today, middle class was a fraction of todays . And in the late 60s and 70s created a craze all over India never seen before and since. Came into the industry on merit after winning a talent hunt competition against some 10,000 participants . (Even AB participated in one of them & lost) Had no Godfather. Could carry a movie without even a heroine ( Ittefaq, Anand , Bawarchi ….) . Didn’t hestitate to do all kind of roles - Dushman, Bawarchi , Red Rose , blockbusters like AAP ki Kasam, Avishkar, ) . Unparalleled charisma and screen presence . A true superstar, so far the only one, really.

Myself, Mr. Vilas Raja Ghate, G. D. Art (app) an advertising photographer, working from Thane, passed out from “J. J. School Of Arts” the number one art institute of Asia.
My family inclination towards ‘Bollywood’ influenced me watching super-star Rajesh Khanna’s movies and started collecting his photographs. The hobby started at the small age of 10, & by the time I reached 65 years of my age, eventually got converted into a passion. This collection has already completed Golden Jubilee Year in 2018. Despite of meeting him several times on the shooting-sets I felt very privileged & honoured, when he himself invited me & my family at his place. The day was ‘25th October 2008’ - Diwali Dhanteras & personally I got recognition to my collection.
The year 2019 is very special to me as it is the ‘Golden Jubilee’ year of my passion & collection of ‘Super- Star RAJESH KHANNA’ (1969 -2019).
I am very proud to say that, my collection is crowned by LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDs-2018. My Super Star’s Collection is honoured and placed in Limca Book of Records….refer Limca Book of Records 2019.

Rajesh Khanna's popularity can be imagined by this fact only that Even his haters or the people who disliked him and never praised him or his acting, they too agree that Rajesh Khanna was god in 1969-1975. Naseeruddin Shah or Javed Akhtar hated Rajesh Khanna but they never deny that most popular actor ever came in Indian cinema was Rajesh Khanna, they too agree that Rajesh Khanna was only person who was not like god, he was litrelly god in 70s. The impact of him in period 1969-1974(in his peak) was so much that he was highest paid actor in India throughout 70s and 80s. His name was itself a banner. Every director be it Yash Chopra, Manmohan Desai or Ramesh Sippy's first superhit was with Rajesh Khanna. Salim Khan once said '' Tab filme nahi chalti thi, sirf Rajesh Khanna chalte the". Salman Khan said that nobody after Rajesh Khanna got even 10 percent of stardom of what Rajesh Khanna had. Vinod Khanna, Amitaabh, Jeetendra, Dharmendra, Dev Anand, Asha Parekh, Vaijantimala, SRK they all have said in their interviews Rajesh Khanna was most popular actor ever.
