one small clarification need
cost of production of goods sold Rs. 44/- if we add selling expenses 1.50 then cost of sales per unit is 45.5,sales 3600@50 180000 mean Rs. 50 per unit net profit is 50-45.5 =4.50.
16200/3600=4.5 per unit

I believe the last few steps needed to be divided by 3600 instead of 4000. Cost of goods sold : 158400/3600 =44.00 + selling expense 1.50 = 45.50 , Net profit = 4.50 Please advise

good explanation mam, although there are errors while calculating cost per unit from cost of goods sold...........it should be taken with respect to no. of goods sold i.e., 3600 so the cost per unit would be 45.5/- and profit per unit would be 4.5/-

Raw Materials Rs 45
Direct Labour Rs 25
Overheads Rs 40
Total Cost Rs 105
Profits Rs 15
Selling Price Rs 120
With the following additional information find the working capital of the
company “ATKU & Co”
 Stock of Raw Materials on an average for 2 months.
 Processing of Materials on an average for 1 month.
 Assume the degree of completion as50% in respect of all elements of
cost.
 Finished goods stock on an average is for 1 month.
 Time lag in payments is one and half weeks for wages and overheads.
 Time lag of receipts from sale is 2 months.
 Credit allowed by suppliers is 1 month.
 20% of output is sold for cash.
 Company expects to keep a cash balance of 1lakh rupees.
 The company is poised for a manufacture of 1,44,000 units in the next
year.
