Sarge and chat : thank you for last night! I'm glad we came across your stream. We had just 'called it a day' and I saw your stream and told the dev about it in their discord.. Your entertainment kept us up until the wee hours of the morning! You should definitely link-up again, because (obv, being devs) they know so many neat things about this game - things you might not have suspected! Haha. (OK. Back to watching the last hour of the stream ;) )
Tip: Most items have different condition percentages (quality?).. That's why they don't stack. Scroll click will stack similar items in the same storage. Click on the higher quality and they will all stack to that quality. Things sink or are buried by sand. Camps are temp. They move on. This game is hard core. Love it.

A big thing is that *noise attracts the lowlifes and other beasties* so when you're visiting a trader who is trigger-happy, that's what's bringing all the boys to the yard. Crossbows and melee weapons are silent.... just sayin' (which is also why we all love Frank & Ron - they're quiet)
NPCs tend to make things worse for themselves... sometimes you can walk into a ghost town... now you know why haha

2:54:27 -- Coffee and Energy drinks, like you said, don't _hydrate_ but they do postpone fatigue... Drink when you see the little zZs icon in the bottom left and you won't have to sleep on a mattress. But it's a short reprieve
