I am so sad this extremely talented man is now dead, but the joy his music brings to others is timeless, and he will live as long as there are people who love listening to him as I do. I discovered him in 2014--and Im very glad for that; I love his sparkling eyes and smile as he sings his beautiful ballads.....I love the Irish and Ireland... a grateful frenchwoman,
you might also like lue kellyand the dubliners. the cancy brothers and tommy makem are great singers. r.i.p. all of you bet your have a great time in heaven
Same story with me and my granddaughter. I would lie next to her and after a moment or two she would say, "Gypsy Rover please." That was my cue to sing.
yes same!! i loved the "best of the clancy brothers" collection disc he had, i played it so much on our stereo that it got scratched up.... then i made him order another disc!!
I met the Clancy Brothers when I was in high school in 1984. They were great and I appreciated the chance to talk to them. Such a cool bunch of guys. But Jesus Christ! Liam is good!. Holy shit! He was the Clancy Brothers! Well done and thanks for posting!
Yes, I wish to good heavens that the CBC would free up more of the material from their archives. I've remembered the songs over the decades, but totally forgot who I'd heard them from until I came across them on youtube. My children have missed out on that music totally and are long moved away, however, now that I've found it again, I'll share it with them soon. I've got a tenor, and a baritone. Who knows what may come of their hearing it?
+Tungsten Kid, the Clancys & Tommy came to England a fair bit in the 60s & 70s - my family were fans and my little brother saw them in Liverpool. Lots of Irish came to the north west of England and settled, so the Clancys were on home ground when they came. Great memories of their cheerful, soulful music
Note to "RED BULL"....one more of your horn tooting commercials on here and I'll call for a total boycott of your miserable product! ARGH! Do you have any idea how annoying your commercials are. IF I had been a buyer of your product I would have long since quit buying it because of the commercials.
I really wish his Canadian show was available on DVD. Both the one with just Liam and the one he and Tommy did together. I can't seem to find any DVD's of Makem and Clancy. :(

tommy makem - bless your clown’s heart
I'm english and we'd never heard of the Clancys and Tommy Makem more's the pity, I suppose they were too busy gigging in America to visit us.
+Tungsten Kid This is a Canadian talk show first off, and no one cares you're from England so stop posting on all of these videos.
+TheDonBar - I said I like the Clancys and Tommy M, which bit of that don't you like?
+Tungsten Kid The Clancy Brothers were all older than mother and she's nearly 90.
Well yes, they were born a long time ago and most of them died in the 90s and early 2000's. Liam was in his 70s I think whnn he died in 2009...
