Urbandale School's 4/5 radio controls were upgraded around that time after the test I think, but now it's doing it's same old screw up to where it cancels after 3 minutes instead of listening to the cancelation tones. Makes me wonder if that darn tree is like in the blocking the signal to shut it off which the siren is currently sort of under and right next to.
No. N5MKYNet Control - Commissioner/Supervisor says stand by as he’s about to “siren poll”. Unlike todays standards where people rely on digital technology to do the siren siren polling including how they are set off. Calhoun County does it the old fashioned way still where they have people volunteer to go to each and every active siren that is tested that day and by the end of the test the guy on the radio/scanner then checks in and polls each station to check for the activity report.
@@michaelgatien4277 Because most of these sirens work on their original radios still instead of being retrofitted. This was though taken 3 years ago, the system has improved since then. But to put it this way too is that Sirens aren’t perfect, sometimes things fail but that’s the whole purpose of the test so that they can make sure a siren is working correctly, if it were an actual emergency it would’ve been a different story. Also a lot of these sirens are at many different types of sizes/shapes and sounds, this one in particular is from the late 50’s and thunderbolt sirens had 2 dual toned options at that time and this type is rare in most states in the US.

When they say stand by, does that mean each broken siren will be mentioned?

Why were a few having trouble shutting down? The siren in the video emits a very scary B flat major tone
