DECAY operation: dissecting a monitor

Screens and monitors, the unsung heroes of our digital narrative, silently shape our daily existence. Our research project aims to unravel the often-overlooked consequences of their widespread presence. With a primary focus on the environmental and social impact, we delve into the implications of tech waste and the global disparities associated with screens and monitors. In an attempt to understand the socio-environmental costs of a monitor, team Decay decided to dissect one for its parts. This short film is a documentation of that dissection. Our intention is to raise awareness about this systemic problem and instigate a paradigm shift towards sustainable tech consumption. To achieve this, we employ a satirical and engaging approach to anti-consumerism, fostering non-accusatory conversations.
