First off, Strongsville keeper played a good game…she shouldn’t beat herself up. She made some great saves. Second, that parent wasn’t totally wrong…she had moved herself up a good 7-8 yards pretending she didn’t have anyone to throw to… Lastly, that was a penalty on Walsh shoving from behind. Doubtful it would have made a difference in the outcome, but it would have been the right call.
@ - it’s the sentiment of the annoying part of a player constantly walking forward to gain an advantage, is it not? It’s an exaggeration but she clearly walked up 7-8 yards from her original spot when the highlight started (I didn’t get to see where the ball went out in the video offered, so I am not even sure if she was accurately in the spot where the ball went out or +/- yardage).
@@CaptainDawg02 No. It's the reality of a parent/fan incessantly bitching about tedious nonsense! (over & over again!) It had ZERO impact on the game! (& NEVER will)
@@OhioSportsNet1 - I disagree it doesn’t impact the game as it has in games I have both played in and coached. I don’t allow excessive walking forward when I officiate either. Nowadays and with the new thrown in change to be able to launch the ball almost sideways as long as it starts fully behind the head, you can throw it into the box like a corner kick. 8 yards closer to goal is most certainly an advantage. Parents complaining in a high stakes game is a tale as old as time. It does seem to happen more often with Strongville parent games you have shared over the years…and that might be a product of their success/expectations. It definitely doesn’t slow down in more competitive contests in GA/DPL and ECNL level girls games…then again I have noticed it more from the coaching sidelines.

Glad to hear the Walsh Jesuit parents have learned their lessons from a few years ago.
Did anyone listen to the announcement before the game?
