A character that becomes integral in the video is the young lass that grabs the employment notice to join the ranks of the pirates and work her way to become the captain. Not sure who she is, but she is a sly one who works like a dawg and makes the rank at the wheel and then ultimately becomes the captain all decked out and in command of the ship. "Yo Ho" Ah my matey's she is a fine captain the "Lass"!!!!!! Oh Home Free you are sly ones my mates!! See you April 26th in Salina, KS. ❣

I won UVIP tickets and will be flying to San Antonio to see them March 30th with my brother. They did mention they would be adding fall concert dates which included the NE. I'm hoping they will be near enough that I can see them once more this year.
Great job Jenn, love the way they did this! And incredible that Tim was down the octave in the basement and staying in the 1st octave most of the song! Harmonies spot on as usual! If you want to see them try to make arrangements before fall as Austin has announced he is leaving home free for solo career and to be home more! Jen, I loved your review and reaction. I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, but wanted to let you know that there was some skipping in the audio here and there throughout the actual video that you may want to check out. I doubled checked the actual video on Home Free’s channel and I had no issue. I did enjoy your commentary and witty remarks. Home Free has a fabulous video, and song, of course. I don’t know how they’ll top this one!
I was thinking of seeing them near me in March -- then we heard Austin is leaving so it may become my only chance to see them together. Sad but happy for Austin, but better see them now! 🎉❤

Fun fact. In the movie Muppet Treasure Island, the beginning of the movie starts with a song about the pirate crew that hid the treasure. There's a line that goes 'every man aboard would'a killed his mate for a bag a' ginnies or a piece of eight!' Now, out of curiosity I looked it up...a piece of eight, which was literally a 1/8th of a Spanish silver dollar, had the buying power of around 15 dollars US in todays economy, so around 12 British pounds. That was all their loyalty was worth.

Love, love, love this!!! Love this video too. Such a banger of a shanty! Should be in a movie. Honestly, Chance reminds me of a brunette version of Sean Bean (Boromir in LOTR, or Ned Stark of GOT)! Gutted about Austin leaving but hoping for a great new member. I will get to see them again late march, since I live so secluded they do not get close often, only a 3 hour drive each way this time, the last was 2 hours.
Seeing Home Free live is a dream. I have never seen them live, and when I finally do, I don't think Austin will be in it because he's leaving. I do have my eyes on some people for a replacement though (even though he's quite irreplaceable).
It was one year ago today that I saw them for the first time in Shreveport, La......I have tickets to see them again on March 26th in Mt Pleasant, TX.... SO EXCITED!!!
Jen, excellent Reaction as always, Skull and Bones is the titular song for the recently released video game, as far as I understand it the company that made the game reached out to Adam and commissioned the song, Home Free also performed this song life at the summer games fest last year, the shots of the ship in the water are from the game engine itself, the boys had this song 'in the bag' as it were since the lyric video was released but were contractually bound to not release it immediately.
Going to see them in April ... so glad I'll get to see Austin perform ! I hope they can find another talent like him ... change is sooo hard !

You're right - this isn't a music video. It's a mini-movie with terrific acting, singing, harmonies, Adam's crazy beatboxing and a story (something most movies now lack). Whomsoever Home Free finds to fill Austin's spot is going to have a tough act to follow. Although neither Chris Chatham nor Jeffrey East are power tenors, perhaps ... .
I really wish I had a chance to go to a Home Free concert this year, sadly they're not coming to the EU, which makes sense because they were here last year. But it'd be nice to see them once more in their current lineup before we need to adjust ourselves to a new lead tenor. I'm just glad I had my first Home Free concert last year.
As for this video... it really is beautifully made. It's growing on me. Tbh I'm not sure how much I liked it at first because it felt slower paced than the music in a way, but the more I see it, the more I like it. And Chance taking the lead in a song is always a nice treat, I'd say.
Going for first time next month. Karma smiled on me and I get to see Austin with them. ❤

Lol, 5:17 "I ... need a pint of something." Well what the lads were having in the bar, which was set in India, was probably an IPA shipped from England with plenty of hoppy bitterness to keep the brew from spoiling on the long sea voyage. Oh! "Long live piracy" ... that last "piracy" was a D3 and you still managed it! This one was fun! As you say, good acting, fun sea shanty, what's not to like!? Great reaction and analysis as always Jen.

So, have yourself a few low notes and then some. I think it’s great that Adam Chance wrote a song that calls for such tremendous vocal depth all throughout the tune. Though I’m biased given my range. I can’t pull off Tim’s ultra-low backing vocals, but I can basically sing Chance’s lead comfortably in my lower register and chest voice. Beyond that I absolutely love the ocean and everything to do with it. The sea and all of its wonders await.

It's a pint of GROG that you need. Usually somewhat watered down rum. Not watered down enough and fights break out. Too watered down and the crew threatens mutiny. They usually only got a cup or so per day. After their shift.
A pint or tankard of ale or bitters would be more of a land lubber's phrase. But we're all salty sea dogs here, right? Maybe the captain gets a tankard to drink from? A British pint is about 19.2 U.S. fluid ounces, so it's larger than most Americans expect (16 U.S. fluid ounces).

Wasn't that great! We've been waiting for this official video by Home Free for awhile now. It felt like I was watching a movie. Home free is so talented & they can do any genre of music. Chance loves sea shanties & he wrote this song for the game "Skull & Bones". His deeper voice sounded great for this song. And of course all the background harmonies of the guys, Tim's bass & Adam's fabulous vocal percussion.

A question, there was a kid who played trumpet in band with one of my sons. Somehow, he could breathe in through his nose and continue to hold a note on the trumpet. They timed him once and he just stopped at 6 minutes. I don't know how he did it. I saw him do it. Myself and all three of my sons played tuba, but we couldn't do it. Have you heard of such a thing? Would it be possible to hold a note singing in that same way?
