I love your medley, it sounds really nice! So here's my story: My teacher from 1st and 2nd grade sometimes played the flute in class when we sang songs. It was so fascinating to me how sometimes two keys went down at the same time. I also liked the sound of the flute. She let us try just the head joint but I didn't because I found and still find it disgusting when there's something near my mouth that other people's skin has touched. About the same time my brother started on the trumpet. I was so annoyed because I was like "It can't be that difficult. When I'm gonna play way better than him when I start." So after two years he joined the youth wind band of my village. I begged my dad to call the president of the wind band to ask if I can go with my brother to look for an instrunent that I wanna learn. So I went with him. I remembered that everyone was saying that I should start on their instrument because they always want new people on every instrument. I tried the clarinet and the flute. I took the flute because I didn't get anything but air oit of the clarinet amd I liked the flute's sound better. So I started and I made progress. After a year or so I passed my brother because he didn't practice whereas I pracriced every evening for half an hour. And now here's why: I was the youngest, I just turned 10 at that time, and there were two other girls, 15 and 16 years old. Their sound and especially the sound the 15yo girl had was so amazing and I wanted to be just like her. With the years things have changed. The 15yo quit when she was 17, then there were 4 new flutists. Just few weeks ago the 16yo who is now 21yo also quit. Now my motivation is to be the 15yo I had when I was little. I want to be a person the four beginners can look up to and learn something from, just like I learned the tone colour and the self conciuosness from the 15yo. Btw I'm 16 now😊 My commet is so long again😂
I started my fascination for the flute in 1st grade, when my music teacher pulled out her flute and played it for my class. Ever since then, I made it my mission to learn how to play it. Now I’m going to 7th grade, and I finally got the opportunity to start learning the instrument of my dreams in 6th grade.
I don't even know what inspired me to play the flute, I only know that I always wanted to. My mom forced me to learn the recorder first, so I did that and then I could finally start learning to play the flute. That was 10 or 11 years ago and I still love it so much :) best decision I ever made
This is so beautiful and congradulations on getting to play the entire score of The Little Mermaid LIVE at the Hollywood Bowl this past weekend. So amazing to TWICE play 2 of the most iconic scores that played a huge part of your life at one of the most famous outdoor concert halls in the world. Thank you for continuing to share you love, dedication, passion, and talents with the world Gina. Brava!!! My Story: Singing, Acting, and Dancing came throughout different timings in my life. As a young boy in Brooklyn, I started singing first around the house at the age of 2 watching all those kids shows. Slowly, my parents introduced me to all the classic Disney Animated films through the full legnth feature films and especially those old Sing Along Songs home videos which we wore out. I was also introduced to all the classic MGM movie musicals (including The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, and even Oklahoma). My first stage performance came at the age of 5. I still remember it, we did some musical revue and our class sang both WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD and I BELIEVE I CAN FLY. At first, I had so much stage fright. Crying at the end. It wasn't till a few shows later, I was given a microphone to say a few lines for another play. With the microphone, I liked the way how it echoed in the auditorium which kept me distracted and less afraid.... I know it sounds weird but it really helped me overcome my stage fright fears. I then started doing Choir all throughout Elementary, Middle, and High School which I fell completely in love with so many genres of music (especially Musical Theater - from the Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Gershwins', Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and more). Following moving to NJ during the ages of 11 and 12, I witnessed my first ever Broadway show (which was BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) and was cast in my first full scale musical (which was GOOD NEWS). From those experiences, that's when I really knew I wanted to persue a career in performing in Theater, Film, TV, and concert work. Now today, I'm out in NYC slowly doing what I enjoy... Done OFF Broadway, Theater, Film, TV, and several concert projects. But I hope to do more including being ON Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theatre, more film, more TV, recording, and more concert works all over the country (including performing with huge symphony orchestras).
Nothing really inspired me to play trumpet, but when I found out about oboe, I was an awe. Ever since then, I've been fascinated with double reeds, and not only do I play oboe, but I also play English horn, and I love it.
I just discovered your channel. It's a music piece that I like and want to play with my flute. Your video incredibly beautiful. I wish you every success. With loves.❤️🌸🍀
I love this arrangement! What inspired me to play the flute was listening to Nestor Torres when I was 10 and hearing my dad play ( he played for fun)😍❤️🎶🎼
Nestor Torres visited our high school in South Florida back in the early '90s, and we got the chance to listen to and play with him as a full band. Fantastic flautist. Coincidentally, we also played Part of Your World in our repertoire for marching band that year.
I really liked 'My Heart Will Go On' so when I was young I was super motivated to play recorder (it was that or xylophone) in music class 😅 Later I played flute :)
You must have a great knowledge of musical composition to do that plus the tuning and phrasing is fantastic I play in a flute choir but we play G trebles for the melody part second part concert flute then Alto / c bass / contrabass flutes sorry I forgot to mention piccolo that's over here in Northern Ireland more commonly known as flute bands. I admire you for your flute playing maybe you Could come over and help us out sometime. Parrots of the Caribbean is in are repertoire to that you play in one of your videos.
Beautiful as always Gina. I was listening to your album the other day, the one you did with James Lent. Love it! Can you do something from the Greatest Showman please.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. I have all of the sheet music for my covers available here: bit.ly/ginamusicnotes :) Hope you have fun playing them!

That's so cool! I have to commend you. I know how hard the reed making process is!
Gina Luciani As of now, I just buy my reeds because I'm still in high school, but I've heard how hard it can be.
Disney’s Fantasia is what made me love classical and the flute sorta fell into my lap in middle school and it just clicked.
I just discovered your channel. It's a music piece that I like and want to play with my flute. Your video incredibly beautiful. I wish you every success. With loves.❤️🌸🍀
