🤗Let’s all send a collective embrace to Jamie! I’m assuming we are all huge dog lovers here, across the globe, who have been through this situation before and it’s not fun. We all remember how we felt, especially if we were lucky enough to have an older dog. Hugs! We love you Sherpa and Jamie!❤️
Indeed ❤
I agree
I am 3000 miles away crying for Jamie.
I'm a huge animal lover in general. I've never actually owned a dog, but I've had many dog friends and many other animal pets, all of whom I've loved as much as Jamie loves Sherpa. I love Sherpa too. Pets are not just pets, they're family members, whatever the species. It's devastating when they get ill or are suffering in any way. They are, essentially, our adopted children!
Blessings ❤❤ positive energy and strength for Jamie and Sherpa
I will never tell someone when to let their pet go on. He will tell you when you look in his eyes. I send you hugs from far away. Sherpa will be fine. Dogs don't fear what comes next. It is you I worry about.
A visit to the vet is very helpful in determining the remaining quality of life for a beloved pet; which usually helps the brokenhearted owner make the final decision. It's the hardest one to make, pets don't always tell us when it's time, it depends on the illness. I've said goodbye many, too many times. It's the price we pay for bringing them into our lives, and ultimately a small price for the joy they give. Here's hoping for a fast check up appointment for Sherpa and some sleep and peace for Jamie.
@@karenburrows9184Well said ❤
So true they tell you when they want to go. It’s so awful but we know we will do it out of our deep love for, them. Courage to you all.. x
Yes. Agree.
That whining is a killer to the heart. My last baby had that with a cough towards the end. It was about a week before her 16th birthday. I got her at the age of 5 weeks, as her foster mom. My little love, I miss her.
I lost my 12 yr old dog this week. Pain, disability of mobility, arthritis, then quickly declining quality of life. It's such a difficult, all encompassing thing to go through, and then, the decision to make, to help them reach the rainbow bridge, and to be there fir them. My sincere and heartfelt sympathies.
I'm so very sorry for your loss 😢🙏
So sorry about your lost.
😢
sorry for your loss but sherpa is not dead and there is very much still hope for him..
@@hed2410 So very sorry for your loss.😢
My favorite quote is “ I realized one day that every dog that comes into my life gives me a part of their heart and every time we lose one they take a piece of my heart. If I’m lucky one day my heart will be 100% dog.”
The most loyal pets are the ones that will hide pain & illness until they just can’t hide it any longer. I’m so sorry, Jamie. I really love Sherpa as do so many others around the world. Sending lots of love your way. Wishing you both safe, peaceful & healthy days ahead. 🐾❤️🐾
Sending love and light to Sherpa and hoping that healing energy will help to make Sherpa feel better and get well again. Love to you to Jamie. I know it is heartbreaking, watching them when that they are not well or in pain. Stay strong you are his rock.❤❤❤🙌🏻
My Sukki was like this too! She was the best! We had to use leg supports for her and she was in a great deal of pain. Hope they can give him some pain meds that will help. CBD helped her for awhile.
Such a great comment. They really do hide pain until they absolutely can't anymore. My heart breaks to see Sherpa and Jamie both suffering right now. 🙏
You have all my prayer for his super fast recovery shrepy inlove you to moon and back Key is waiting for his bestie 😘😘🛕🛕
You are so rigt. We recently lost our Cattle Dog. She hid cancer of the spleen until she couldn't go any further. She was gone the next day. We were angry at ourselves because we should have known.
Here's something for Sherpa's vet visit. He will always be the bestest boy.
Thank you for your kind donation.
💓💗❤️
🤩🥰👍👏💪
Praying for Sherpa’s speedy recovery. He is very very precious and we can’t watch him suffer like this. Hope that the vets can help him recover quickly.
You are awesome...
Breaking my heart seeing darling Sherpa like this. He seems confused at times as he doesn't understand what's happening to him. I burst into tears and cried with him when he was whining. I love you Sherpa. 💙
Oh me too. Is heart wrenching seeing both of these boys in so much pain. I couldn’t even sit home and watch this without sobbing
Seeing him in pain is heartbreaking. They must be able to give you an emergency appointment asap. Prayers for the both of you!❤🙏
Such an emotional rolacoaster! We've got another specialist to see in a couple days but it's already been 3 days waiting 😢
@SherpasDay I had a German shepherd that went like that I don't think it's all his legs I think he may have a urine infection as thar what was wrong with my Ted do you give him glucosamine to help with his legs x awe sherpa hope ur well soon xxxx
My poor Sherpa! I'm praying you can get him into the vet ASAP. I'm praying for you both.
Aww Sherpie ❤️ xxx
@@SherpasDay Jaime I recently had to go thru the same thing, I wish I had seen the signs sooner. My boy was 12 and as soon as his back legs started going out it was only a matter of a couple months that everything started going to heck in a hand basket. I lost my boy at the end of Nov 2023 and like a few days later we all lost Phil from Life with malamutes. So I got a double whammy. Now i see the same thing going on with sherpie. My heart is broken
...again. I will say a huge prayer for sherpie that when it's time that he won't go until he is pain free and back to his normal self. I feel like he's my dog too cause I been watching your videos for at least 7yrs. Hang in there and think positive thoughts.
Karen from Florida.

It's so difficult witnessing them getting older and frail. Hugs to you both from Kansas ❤❤❤.
Yea he was doing so well too!
Totally agree !! Also from Kansas
Lots of love and positive thoughts for Jamie and Sherpa. Your friends all across the world are rooting for the both of you!
@@SherpasDay I think it is because of the lack of pain killers. I know how he feels. Once they wear off, my joints just throb. Hugs to you both.
I'm so sorry Jamie. 😢🥺
I'm just remembering the running, barking (talking), and all your travels around the countryside. I'm will definitely keep you in my prayers to give you both strength to get through this trying time. ❤from Ohio USA. 🙏🏾🙌🏾
With an older dog, there comes a time when you need to ask yourself: Whose needs are being served by what I’m doing? The old boy won’t benefit from long car trips, hydrotherapy and other stressors. Naps in the sun, loving pats, basic walks and great food will keep him happy and comfortable. He’s retired now. Just love him ❤️
You did everything for Sherpa please have no regrets.the whole house was for Sherpa.
I had a Siberian Husky for 14 years, I could see the pain in her eyes. I can see the pain in Sherpa's eyes.
It is truly heart wrenching to see an animal show that kind of pain in their eyes. My cat began doing the same things and was unable to walk. We made that excruciating decision as his suffering was more than we could bear. It is so hard. Praying for Jamie and Sherpa.
Had one for 16yrs used all holistic therapies and meds! Too many side effects from vet meds!
Its possibly hip dysplasia you can see the drop in his left leg! There are soft material braces to help keep the joints in place when moving! Hydrotherapy is great but it could be causing the joints to grate against eachother!
Sending healing energy for you both. Someone mentioned hip dysplasia for which there are treatments. I hope you get into the vet’s right away. Please keep us updated when you can. ❤
My late partner and I rescued two of them. They are the most wonderful, loving creatures. Saying goodbye to them is the hardest thing ever, but we must do right by them. They've always loved and trusted us, so it is the last loving kindness we can do for them as they leave this life to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We'll see them when it's our turn.
The whinnying in the middle of the night was our last sign we needed to make that decision. We love our dogs more than humans sometimes, but its not fair to make them suffer either. I wish you all the healing vibes when that time comes for you Jamie🫂
I really think we should leave such things up to Jamie. We don't know what our pets would choose for themselves if they understood the alternatives, and we're not God.
Same with my dog. It is gut wrenching. I had to mute it because it took me back to my dog.
@@penultimateh766that's ridiculous. There is a huge difference between a human and a dog. Dogs getting older having medical issues tend to go down real quick. And there isn't anything a vet can do. They'll shut down on their own. Being an owner of a dog and ending their suffering isn't playing God. It's far better than them dying in pain for no reason and no one is telling him to do anything to Sherpa. It's just people's past experiences they are sharing.
Being quite old, I've had several very old dogs, and when I heard Sherpa doing that it sounded more like loneliness and a need to be comforted by Jamie's presence that crying in pain.
But all dogs are different and have different voices, and only Jamie knows the meanings of Sherpa's vocalisations.
Maybe Jamie needs to put dear Sherpa on the bed with him at night and give him cuddles…….x ❤️🇬🇧
We hope that Sherpa will go like our Husky, Taff, did 15 months ago. He passed away at home, in his sanctuary in the middle of the night. He was 11 years, 6 months of age and we gave him a very good life. Just days before I'd taken him to the local beach boardwalk, he showed no signs of illness. His sudden passing was a very big shock, but we took solice in that he went on his terms and without suffering. Our thoughts are with you Jamie. Love him while he's still with you now, and later when he's in a better place. Bruce and Michelle, Canada.
Oh Sherpa… this is the heartbreaking future for all pet owners. I have a 9 year old golden retriever who is already slowing down dramatically. You’re doing an amazing job, Jamie. Stay strong. Caring for our elderly pets is how we repay them for sharing their lifetime of memories and love with us.
Same with my 10 year old Akita mix it hurts my heart to see him like this I’ll not cope if anything happens to him 😢
I heard someone describe Dog ownership as ten years of fun, laughter and unconditional love followed by two years of vets bills and a tragedy you never really recover from. Wishing Sherpa better health and wishing Jamie the strength to support Sherpa in these difficult times.
Wow. That’s interesting to look at it that way! 😮
Humans really live a loooong time when you think about it.
My cat Emily was 19 when she crossed over Rainbow Bridge. That was 10+ years ago, and I will never get over it. She was my only child. Please don't say mean things.😢
Jamie feel your pain, it’s getting close so be brave….
So very very true ❤
It's painful to watch out beloved pets get old. They tell you when it's time to go. Prayers for you and Sherpa.
That is so true. Each and every one of my dogs literally told me when they couldn't take any more. It's heartbreaking. Every time.
I’m so sorry Jamie. Good old Sherpa isn’t looking too well. My heart goes out to both of you. The dynamic duo.❤
I pray that Sherpa's leg pain is healed quickly and he's back to his normal self in no time. ❤
One disadvantage of having a pet is that one day you are bound to lose him. The bond between a man and his dog can be stronger than between people, even the nearest and dearest. I guess it is because a dog loves you unconditionally.
Such an emotional rolacoaster isn't it!

Poor Sherpa, I’m so sorry. My German Shepherd was the same, his back legs just got worse and worse, until he just couldn’t do it anymore. The vet came to the house, made him very comfortable for his last journey.

I haven't watched too many of Sherpy the last couple months. Dont care what you say, I love him, even though it's online, I really love him. At the same time, my precious pupper, who is all I have since I lost Mum, Dad, and husband in less than 3 yrs. He needed me and he saved my life. I would think to myself, we've still got each other. Now he's failing so fast and I'm heartbroken. God be with you and Sherpa, 💔💔
This is what happened to our dear old dog too. His back legs stopped working and he became incontinent.
There’s always hope of course but you’re the kind of pragmatic chap who knows you have to be ready for whatever is coming along x x
Same thing happened to our first husky, Nani. She was 13 years old.
Sam thing happened to my Dal Sam. He was 13 when he passed. We do what we can for them, let them go when they need to and remember and miss them forever.
Happened last July to our shepsky at about the same age.
Our yellow lab Kaos had Cushings disease as well. Eventually he stopped eating and couldn't walk. He started having accidents as well. He was 13 and lived a very spoiled well loved life. When he started having seizures we knew it was time. He was born in our house and lived a great life. I haven't been able to bring myself to get another pup yet. Having Kaos and his parents gave us so much joy and they were such outstanding family members I'm not sure we'll ever find another doggo to match them. Love and prayers to you both
Sorry for your loss. Having the whole family, your feelings are so understandable. My friend just made the appointment for her dog for this week. She's beside herself.
I lost a dog to Cushing's. But with medication and a homemade fresh food diet she lasted two years after diagnosis. My heart goes out to you. ❤❤❤
But Sherpa has been diagnosed with cushings. I'm sorry for your loss Kelly 😢🙏🙏❤️
So sorry for your loss😢❤
sending you a hug. We just lost our 15 year old husky..... Cushing yes. and rapid loss of use of her hind legs, I made slings to support her back end and help her stand, but we could not manage her pain. so hard .
Oh, Jamie. I think his whinging is him telling you he's ready. I've been through this and it's a living hell, because they are part of us. All my love to you and Sherps. I'm praying for you both. Xxx
Hes living a life of love, you are a great dad, being best guardian and we all send you a giant hug...i hope you can have more good days ..
Jamie, you have the love & empathy of the world.
Dogs do live more in the moment than people, but as long as he is pain controlled and has a full belly, all he needs is you.
Blessed be
Awe Sherpa sweetheart I am so sorry to hear that your not feeling well. Sending hugs to our sweet angel. Love you 🥰
My sympathies, Jamie. I lost my beloved wife and my two dear cats in the last 12 twelve months. Some of the signs of end life are loss of mobility and bowel control. I put out disposable puppy training pads for the cats when they couldn't use their litter box anymore. Just remember, there are thousands loving fans of the both of you, all over the world. Love and hugs.❤❤❤❤❤
❤
The worst bit is not knowing quite what to do. I’ve watched the video and think you’re doing brilliantly and doing everything you can Jamie x
Seems like he doesn’t want to lay down because he’s having trouble getting up and maybe that scares him a little. So hard. Bless you both.
I think his hind legs just aren't working the way they should. He might be afraid he's going to fall down instead of lie down. Poor doggie, this brings back such heartbreaking memories of my own dog.
It is so hard to see them suffer and be so helpless. We were traveling to pick up my husband's ashes when my Lola just stopped walking and eating. We took her to the vet and told us she was suffering. So we had to say goodbye in a place far from home. It broke our hearts.
😢 I'm very sorry for the loss of both your husband and your dog ❤️🌹🌹🙏
We have all painfully parted from our furry family members. But what an awful way to have that happen. So sorry. Tearing up just reading it.
@birdsndog5819 Yes , we all have painful stories of having to say goodbye to our precious babies. My love to you all. Thank you so very much.
The feeling of helplessness and inadequacy is crippling sometimes. ❤️🩹
This happened to our dear sheltie. The time came just to let him have his days quietly resting in our back yard. Outings and walks were just too much for him. Dogs don’t always show you the pain they are in. Sending love to both of you. Vet helped our buddy with pain meds to help him through a tough time for all.
Oh sweet Jamie, I am praying for you and Sherpa. Start laying down with him at night. He wants you close.

I'm so sad for your loss. Sherpa had a wonderful life. Jamie you two had a full and exciting life entertaining all of us.
I lost my 16 year old man 3 months ago, he had cushings and he went down hill pretty quickly in the end. He kept me awake for the last few nights because he wasn't well and was in pain. I had to make the heart breaking decision to say goodbye. Sending Sherpa lots of love.

Poor Serpa! My malamute became slow, blind and deaf, you could see that he had trouble standing up, but he still walked normally. Then all of a sudden BAM - stroke...collapse, there was no more help, he was like chewing gum in the sun and we allowed him to leave with dignity. It was difficult, but I am comforted by the fact that he had a beautiful and full life. He was 14 and a half years old when he said goodbye.

Sometimes with a senior dog, things can happen quickly. Sending off prayers to St. Francis for both you and Sherpa. What ever happens he knows that you were able to give him his best life....our pets have a way of knowing.
You are so right.
My Odin was the same towards the end. It's never something you want to see or hear. The best thing for Sherpa right now would be to keep him at home and just let him enjoy his garden. No more travelling.
you cant say what the best thing for him will be you are not his owner, his owner will know best for him...
Earlier this year my 14 year old Schnauzer in a period of over night started crying and whimpering and had problems walking. I took him to the vet. She did an x-ray. It turned out that somehow he got a pinched nerve in his upper spine. She gave us an anti swelling med and pain med. It took a few weeks of babying him, carrying him in and out of places, massaging his back, and really limiting his walking, and he recovered. I hope you have good luck at the vet with Sherpa. He had been doing so well after his teeth pulling. Maybe he just overdid it.
We lost our 14yr old Labrador 4 weeks ago and it’s heartbreaking 💔 sadly Sherpa is acting like our dog in the end. We kept him going for a further 10days after a tumour was discovered but used painkillers to keep him comfortable and one day he just looked at my husband and we knew what he was saying. We had ‘coming home’ out so he could be put to sleep at home, the vet was amazing he gave him a sedative with a painkiller before putting him to sleep. He the had him on a stretcher, my husband and the vet, Jeremy, carried him to his car where he was placed at the chapel of rest overnight (as theirs was 19:10) and had his individual cremation in the morning. All so dignified. Sherpa will tell you…
Jamie, you have done more than anyone possibly could for Sherpa. Unfortunately, when they reach a certain age, things break down. I am sorry because I know the pain you’re enduring. We had to put our 7 year old Shepherd Mix down recently because of bone cancer. He was in so many pain meds, we couldn’t let him go on. We have also lost several of our fur babies to old age. It never gets easier. I have mourned the loss of our doggos more than any human. You are a wonderful dog Dad and Sherpa knows how much you love him.
Omg 7 years is young so sorry for your loss he’s at the bridge waiting for you our animal companions spirit lives on ❤
I firmly believe that every one of our fur babies is waiting for us to cross the Rainbow Bridge one day. I know all mine are with my parents, brother and sisters who have already crossed before me.
@@TASIAawful1 Thank you!
Poor sweet little old man! He has such a good owner
It's so hard when our fur babies are hurting and we can't help them. Jamie needs to ask himself if Sherpa's QOL is worth the pain he's in. I put off making the decision for my first baby. I kept telling myself he'd get better and bounce back like he always had before. But he didn't. He was a cat and so weak he couldn't drag himself to the litter box. He couldn't groom. I was tube-feeding him. One day he looked at me with sad eyes and I knew he wondered why I was making him endure so much. So we made the trip. I'll never forget it. It's been a few decades now, but I've never made that mistake again. You can't let your love for your animals force them to suffer just so you can have one more day.
No idea if Sherpa is in that state. Only Jamie can decide that. But from my lend he has that look in his eyes. He's ready. I'm glad he got to see Key one more time.I dont' envy

This advice is probably unsolicited and I don't know the full extent of what's going on, but when our senior dog started having pain in his back legs, we started giving him CBD oil to ease the pain. It worked like a charm on him. He was a small dog, though, so I don't know how well it would work on Sherpa or if it's even an option for him. I hope we can find out what's going on soon. Thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes to both Jamie and Sherpa!
It is the hardest part of having a companion. He is very old for a malamute/husky. He has had a life we would all love. I hope you do not have to make a decision but also that you know when to make it. My heart breaks for you. He is an international star💔💔💔
Yes dear Sherpa is old, I am thinking back to January when we lost Philly Bear…..his back legs went suddenly……so sad x ❤️🇬🇧
This is the part of having a dog, cat or any pet we love, that is so difficult. ❤❤❤
I hope the vet can offer him some relief. I feel for both of you. The hardest part of being a pet parent is letting them go. I always say I won’t go through it again. But then another baby comes into my life and I do.
Thought we might be sending our 18 yr old pupper across the rainbow bridge and hubby and I were contemplating that very dilemma when a 1 yr old popped into our lives. Now looks like our 18 yr old has a bit more pep left in him. There are never guarantees but all we can do is give them love and good quality of life.
I noticed the other day when he walked and you showed that same clip in this video. He was clearly walking stiff legged. Our girl, Tala did too. The doctors thought it was a slipped disc or spinal problem due to age. It began to affect her bladder, too. We bought her washable potty pads on Amazon and put them all over. They’re nice because we could pop them in the washer and hang out or use the dryer. If it wasn’t much, we’d hose it off outside and air/sun dry. She did lose most of her hearing and appeared to have dementia. We were taking her in two days to the vets and see if they thought she was suffering, we’d put her down. We didn’t have to. On Sunday morning, she started having seizures and died while we pet her. That was 2 1/2 years ago. It still brings tears to our eyes thinking of her. God Bless🦋
Please don’t let him suffer. He’s hurting so bad. I love you Jamie and I know things are hard now. I’m with you and everyone else is with you also. You have the world holding your hand. We love you.
It can be one of the hardest decisions to make. I've been fortunate to find a good vet that can come to my house for end of life care. What has made the decision a bit easier is using the quality of life scale. We are here for you Jamie.

Oh Jamie I'm so sorry. I think your right about the pain killers. Sending you prayers and hugs.
watching them get older and slower and starting to have accidents in the house is always hard , they are a part of of lives for such a short time but we remember them for ever.
No truer words … you are right , we do remember them forever ❤️🩹❤️
He's in pain, poor bloke. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 73yrs
Oh, no! 😢 I was so encouraged after his surgery. Hopefully, he gets that spark back.
Poor Sherpie boy, he was doing so well and now this. Growing older is not fun and seeing our beloved animals have illnesses and pain breaks our hearts. He's such a lovely boy and kind natured. I hope seeing a specialist soon will give some answers. Big hugs to that adorable boy and hospital visits are not fun (can empathise with that lately).❤❤
We must all remember Dear Sherp' has recently been through a heck of trauma with that massive operation, just look at the effect it had on poor Jamie & he wasn't the one pumped full of medication! It could easily be a Water Infection, they cause disorientation, confusion etc. Let's see what the Vet says, in the meantime Jamie we send you both Love, strength, hugs and Love ❤ ❤ ❤
Come on Sherpa we are all praying for you. ❤ xx
Poor Sherpie. He is such a sweet soul. He is lucky to have such a loving Dad.
As always, wishing the best for you and Sherpa. Please know that all of us would understand if you need to take some private time to deal with Sherpa's health. Run an old video, or skip it all together if it's financially feasible. Let us know what you need and we'll try to support & help you. Prayers and love for Sherpa.
Oh Jamie, I’m so sorry that Sherpa is going through this, he seemed to be doing so well.
Sending prayers to Sherpa and to you. 🙏
Hugs to you both 🐕🦺💙
Sending love to our sweet Sherpa and Jamie who cares for him so much.
Jamie, you've always found and done what is best for Sherpa! I know you will do whatever it takes. Sending healing, energy and strength to Sherpa & Jamie along with the hugs & love 🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜
For the vet bills. Hang in there Sherpa (and Jamie)! ❤ 🍪🍪
It hurts me to see Sherpa like this! I hope that the vet will help and make him all good again! Prayers your way🙏🙏🙏
We are so blessed when we have a dog in our life that is truly family. We all have been fortunate to share in yours and Shepa's life. You are taking such good care of Sherpa but who is taking care of you? Jamie you know him better than any of us. When you've done all that you can do let him know that's it's ok to go. He loves you and has been your protector too. He might be ready but he knows you're not. We never are. You both have been blessed beyond measure. All our hearts are breaking. We wish we could take some of your pain. Oh the wonderful adventures and memories you have. You have given him everything he has ever needed. He has been loved and he has felt it every day he has had with you.❤️🐾
My family and I are praying that the specialist can help Lord Sherpa 🙏 I hate the age of 13 for I lost my Sammy to kidney cancer and my nephew just lost his chocolate lab to Lymphoma Cancer. Prayers that it's something the specialist can help with and Lord Sherpa has many more year's to come . We are surrounded both you Jamie and Sherpa with prayers and love
Poor Sherpa. It’s heartbreaking to see him like that. It’s sad, but at least he knows that you’re available 24/7 to help him out. Sending love and strength your way, Jamie 🐾💙🐺
I know its difficult but its heart breaking seeing that dog in so much pain. You need to prepare yourself that Sherpa is near the end. I wish you both the best.
I just had my 13 and half year old husky put to sleep last month. He had a host of issues ranging from his liver, bladder, hip dysplasia, arthritis, and more. I got him a rear leg support wheelchair in his last months and we used KANECH Washable Underpads 44x52 around the house, in the car, etc for his messes. Combination of dry and wet warm washcloths and antibacterial shampoo from the vet to keep his rear clean. He lived with fecal incontinence for about a year that was manageable since he could stand and walk away from it, he just couldn't get to the back door in time. His arthritis got worse and worse over the last 6 months and lost his ability to stand on his own around March or April. Between that and bladder stones causing chronic infections and organ failure at the end, we had to make a decision. The amazing part is that he was diagnosed with liver cancer 7/1/2021 and given 6 months to live. He made it to 6/9/2024.
Jamie Sherpa is a beautiful boy and we love him he has bought us much love and joy into our lives.and you have shared your love with us as well. Your a kind and loveing doggy dad to Shepa.and god will bless you for that.
